As I was visiting Burlingame from out of town today I went to CDX for a color touch-up and had such a wonderful experience. The quality of work and attention to the details for my hair by Ricardo was great! He and Clod made me feel like I was visiting a friend's salon. The space is charming, with white painted brick walls and lots of light and a very comfortable hair washing chair where you lie completely vertical. I really liked the Italian organic hair products used for my curly hair too. Clod, I also appreciated your suggestions on how to take better care of my hair health. He is experienced, talented and professional. He accommodates how I like my hair to be cut, and at the same time provides his recommendation. Clodoveu has been cutting my (long, thick) hair for over a year now, helping me grow out some impulsive blunt bangs and actually get comfortable with layers - and doing a great job! I don't feel any pressure to cut more off, or do anything trendy/ outside my comfort zone, or get a cut that requires more product and style than I'll ever actually do in real life. He also gives me honest feedback if I have a style idea but I'm not sure how it will look / act on my hair. So valuable! Now he has his own shop and I am thrilled. Clodoveu's new salon was put together with his clients in mind, and it really shows. Relaxing ambiance, current and clean design, VERY comfortable hair washing station (no neck cranking!), and zero clutter in the space. It's a nice place to spend some time and zen out - just what I love in a salon. The product line he carries is quite wonderful too - my hair has never felt so clean and healthy 3+ days after a haircut and blow dry. I'm in the extra low maintenance category of hair care - i.e. wash once a week, no products, all that. Usually after a salon cut I feel like I need to wash out the product after a day or two, but that's absolutely not the case with this line. In sum: highly recommend! read more
