I love going to the movies and the CineBistro was always my first choice. Not anymore. I went there this week with my son and was very disappointed. The place is just not the same. My server took our order and our entrees showed up before or drinks of water and ginger. I order the salmon with out potatoes but wanted a double portion of the spinach. It came out without the potatoes but not a double portion is spinach. The server said the chef said it was doubled. Ok if you say so. Let's get down to the actual meal, the Salmon was overcooked and the sauce was extremely salty. Like I could feel my blood pressure rising with each bit. The popcorn was cold and salty. Always impressed with the quality of food at this theater. Our entire party of 4 really enjoyed pretty much everything we got and the movie! Apps Both the fried green tomatoes and the baked goat cheese were delicious. The tomato jam in the candied shallots on the goat cheese, made it rich and delightful. And they had enough baguette, which is impressive because usually the bread runs out in most places or something like this. The fried green tomatoes were also rich and indulgent and the peach habanero jelly was a nice bright kick. For entrées we got a couple CMX burgers, the ravioli and the chicken BLT. I usually get the tuna poke bowl, which is always very good but this time I was in the mood for a sandwich so the chicken BLT was a risk, but turned out it paid off. The chicken was cooked perfectly as well as the bacon. Very satisfying. The burgers never disappoint and my son really enjoyed his ravioli with an extra steaks you were on the side. read more

Treated my mom to a movie & food today at 12:30pm (You, Me & Tuscany) The movie was great.. service was alright but the food my mom ordered (Wagyu Beef Sliders with fries) did not impress us because of the cold fries. We frequent this movie theater and usually get the Salmon dish but tried something different. By the time we got the food, the movie had started so we didn't get up to interrupt anyone or miss the movie. We waited to see if the server would return to check on the food and realized we just needed to tell management after. I was instructed to go to the bar, the manager clearly overheard my complaint and walked away. The bar staff offered fries to-go... I said she's fine with candy or a coupon for when she returns. They went to "get the manager" and the same guy who already heard it, I repeated it to him. He seemed very annoyed and just handed over a card for a complimentary dessert or appetizer without an apology which is why I proceeded to leave this review, reluctantly. Me and the family came to Cine Bistro to watch a movie since the other theaters were basically sold out of the movie my son wanted to see. Prices for adult tickets are $16.50, more expensive than other places for sure but I get it, they want to seem upscale. I bought our tickets on their website and when we got there I tried to scan them in, I was told they're no longer able to scan (I took a screen shot) but he was able to find them. We still had about 40mins before the movies started so I went to the bar to get a drink and was promptly told that he (one of the bartenders) can't take my order due to some credit card issue; there was no customer service involved at all. Once they got their cc system on order, I went and sat at the bar. By this time there were 2 bartenders there now; the guy was on well making orders and the lady was taking bar orders. I sat at the bar waiting for her to acknowledge me, which she didn't. After she finished making another customer order, she went and greeted and asked the 3 individuals that came in after me. At this time I walked away, not impressed by the lack of customer service. My husband then went to the bar and stood behind the group. He quickly came back to ask what I wanted again and went back, which she then again assisted newer customers that had come to the bar. He finally said something and she gave the excuse of she didn't know he wanted a drink because customers always come up and watch the tvs at the bar. I've been a server/bartender and I always ask if a customer would like something when they're near the bar just to make sure. When we got into the theater, our server Jeremy was very pleasant, he was informative and friendly. We couldn't order what we wanted due to 2 of the fryers being down (they have 3 separate ones for seafood, fries, and chicken). No big deal, we just switched it up a bit. I ordered the blackened salmon, my husband got the cmx burger, and my son got the cheese ravioli. Jeremy asked about certain ingredients in the pasta which was good since my son doesn't eat some of the stuff. The salmon was good, the potatoes were instant but overall the best dish out the 3. The ravioli was ok, I didn't taste the burger but my husband enjoyed it. We did get a side of truffle fries, they were alright, a bit salty and not like the truffle fries I'm used to. These most likely used a product like Kraft Parmesan cheese that was fried with it and not real cheese shredded over. The servers don't come back to see if anything is needed so no refills or dirty dishes removed. So if you order the "bottomless popcorn" you have to walk out to the bar to get a refill, along with drinks. You have to pay after you order and a 20% gratuity is automatically added. So you basically tip for them to take your order and that's it. The actual movie seemed like we were watching an HD movie on a basic set up. It doesn't seem there has been much updates in the tech area. Overall, it doesn't offer the "luxurious and pampering movie-going" it states on the website. read more

Arrived for 12:00 showing of Wicked: For Good at 11:30. Was planning to have lunch and enjoy the movie with family for Black Friday. When we arrive and get our tickets we were told that the internet was down so there would be no food - only popcorn and soda. You had to order at the bar and take it in with you to the theater. She said they would announce when we could go into the theater. That never happened. When it got to be 10 minutes before the show, we just walked in. The popcorn and drinks were free and the seats reclined fully. The lobby was frigid. I asked if we could order (and pay for) candy and they said no. They should have eaten that cost too. I don't know if the internet was really down or if staff just didn't come in but it was very annoying. I had to tell a fellow visitor that she'd need to go out and get popcorn and soda for her family since they didn't spread the word. By the time the movie was over there was a full page, single spaced notice on the door asking for grace during this time. May return for the seats but will call in advance to see if the internet is up and if they will be taking orders. I felt bad for the wait staff who get automatic gratuity on every order. The most overpriced theatre experience in Richmond. Worst staff and management ever, consistently for years/ whever you try to call, they don't answer. Upon arrival, always the laziest uncaring emotionless checkin folks. If you have issues, contact via website or corporate. They are aware of the incompetence at Stony Point- don't waist your time and gas as I have twice. I go there because it's been 3 weeks still awaiting a refund for Wicked 2 tickets I canceled 2 days in advance, last month. I went to see Beetlejuice with friends and the theater staff is so friendly. I arrived before my friend and was immediately greeted but I wanted to wait before we checked in. I haven't been here since before COVID, so I was a bit surprised by the positive changes with the ordering process. You can order until the lights go out, but after that you have to leave to order. Awesome, and definitely a positive for everyone in my opinion. The ravioli was delicious btw! The drink was yummy, but clearly didn't have all the ingredients it should've. The description showed it purple with the two flavored vodkas, and grenadine, but I don't thing there was any grenadine which is why you can see mine was see through. It was still yummy, but that extra would've been nice since it was listed on the description. If you do plan to eat, don't look up while you're in the entry area. I made the mistake of looking up afterwords. There are dead bugs in the high up dome lamps. I realize the entry is not the kitchen, but it is the same building. Friend and I were more than a little grossed out by that, esp considering we were only a few feet away from the bar when we saw it and both got drinks. The reason for the loss of a star is the lamp bugs. The best dine-in movie theatre but you are going to pay $$$. Feel like the kid movies should all be at the kid price. The rewards program is good as you can rack up a lot of free tickets or items with the amount you are expected to spend each visit. staff is nice, & make sure you are taken care of. Normally, we have 0 issues, but my god can you guys NOT afford heat in this place? We were told the heat is cut off overnight and takes a bit to heat up. Seem like a waste of $$ to heat it up day in and out but ok. BTW It never HEATED up; cold air was blowing on us for the ENTIRE movie. We were freezing. Everyone had on coats, and several had left they were so cold. The lobby was FREEZING, and the theater was not much better. I could barely eat, I was so cold. We asked for coffee, which was STONE COLD; however they did replace it but come on. Decided to watch a movie and CinéBistro is the only theatre to have recliner seats. Tickets were about $24 per person including fees through there app which is high but you are paying for the upgraded seat and experience compare to the other theaters in the area. The theatre is cleaner then most in the area and the screen and sound are also way better then other. I personally don't care for the food that they offer, but it's good to know you can eat dinner and watch a movie at the same time. However do note they charge a 20% service charge on top of the food you order just to bring it to your seat which is definitely a little to high and might be the reason I never get food here. read more

Came to see Barbie with a group of friends. We liked that you could purchase and reserve seats in advance. We sat in row D which I felt was perfect. The seats were so comfortable and had plenty of cup holders. Buying tickets online was easy. They email you your QR code. Please note that the team at the welcome desk has no way to look up your tickets in their system. You just have your code printed out or saved on your phone. There is NO SERVICE inside cinebistro so make sure you have your QR code pulled up before entering. The wifi at stony point won't work inside either. The waitstaff was wonderful and took our orders during the previews. The food and drinks were brought out quickly. Nothing is brought out during the actual movie as to not interrupt the show which I appreciated. I felt that the ticket prices were very reasonable for the accommodations. The price will vary based on the time of day and day of the week as well. We went on a Wednesday evening about a week after the movie was released. In my opinion the food and drink prices were very high. The margarita was in a tall, skinny glass and tasted mostly like mixer. The burger wasn't very flavorful, but it was pretty juicy. The bread was a bit dry. I added Parmesan to the fries and those were lovely. Perfectly crispy. It was moms night out so I splurged a bit and got a very small box of candy for $8. If I went back again I think I would opt for something like the bottomless popcorn instead of getting a meal or alcoholic beverage. Word of advice... park by Dillards. Some people in our party got a bit turned around since the backside of cinebistro faces one of the parking lots, but there aren't any entrances on that site of the building. read more

This theater has its pros and cons. The seats are spacious, cozy and they recline. It feels luxurious and intimate. The menu is a bit limited and overpriced. Sunday evening, I overheard an interesting conversation while waiting to be seated for our 7 pm movie. My mom, sister and I went to the Stony Point Mall for the 7 pm movie for a special occasion. My mom had been saving a gift card for this, but once inside we were informed that we could not use the gift card as you all are merging the computer systems? All was well because the manager did comp our tickets, which was amazing and very much appreciated. We were a bit early, and decided to wait in the lounge area. I went up the bar to get my mom and myself a drink. While waiting to be served, I overheard the bartender and front desk assistant (same one that informed us when we arrived that we couldn't use the gift card) talking about how busy it was. Then the bartender says, "you should've seen it last night; it was like this, but with 200 old people". The front desk assistant looked up from her phone and says, "I'm so glad I was in a different city", laughs, walks off and huffs. I am so confused....do they think people can't hear their conversations? Or maybe just old people can't hear their conversations? Maybe they lack insight and forget that they too will be "old" someday. I know it's hard to get good help these days, but WOW, you could probably step it up a notch and hire employees that pretend like they want to be there to serve your customers. Just a thought. I've been a consistent patron since opening. After COVID, it really went downhill. While the theater itself deserves 5 star, the food doesn't even deserve 1. Not only do they need more choices, but the prices are insane. $20 for a less than mediocre burger and tiny portion of fries. You're better off eating beforehand and only ordering drinks. They should also bring back the old menu items or at least add a pizza option. We spent over $100 for two meals and one glass of wine. Thumbs down. read more

Very clean theatre, great service. I honestly was quite disappointed with the Signature Burger - just not as big as it seemed. The ttuffle fries were great though. We did like the combination of chicken and shrimp with popcorn, and can't ever go wrong with bottomless popcorn but really barely finished the one bucket but went ahead and had a second be brought out before last call. Concessions are hilariously expensive. A regular size box of M&Ms, a small popcorn, and a regular Diet Coke came to nearly $40.

We showed up at the Stony Point location last week to use a gift card for dinner and a show, only to be informed that they could not accept a gift card, haven't been able to for more than 4 months and that they have no idea when they will ever be able to accept them in the future. We were flatly told that there was nothing they could do for us. We requested to speak to the Manager to request a refund of the gift card, and he basically had the attitude of: We already have your money, so we are good. Sucks to be you. Business that treat their customers this way really shouldn't exist. They already have my money, so I beg you, please, please don't let them have yours. read more

My friends and I wanted to watch Barbie in style, so decided to check out CineBistro for their Tuesday special tickets. We had to get tickets online because of how many people had the same idea as us. We paid about $8.50 each. Due to the popularity of this movie, we ended up very close to the screen. We were in the B row, which if you have an option to sit farther, I'd highly recommend doing that. When I ordered the tickets online, I got a QR code to show the person at the front desk. It was an easy process to get our tickets. It's a relatively small theater with what seems like only four screening rooms. There aren't many stalls in the bathrooms (Women and Men) so this might make for a small wait after your film. However, they are clean and the line goes by pretty quickly. When you sit down, waiters take your order during the trailers and the food comes out before the film. My friend and I shared the large unlimited popcorn and they were kind enough to give us two boxes. They only will serve during the trailers so they don't interrupt the movie. I appreciated this. I had a fun movie experience here. My only note is that I wish the seats reclined a bit further. I've been to another location of this cinema and liked that the seats went back a bit more. It would've been even nicer with the closer seats. I'd be excited to return and sit a bit farther from the screen. Things are a bit pricey here, but it's a fun date night. If you come here with a big group do note that seats are sectioned off in groups of two, so if you're an odd number, someone might feel a little left out from the divider. We love going to Cinébistro, and consider it more of an experience than just a movie outing. The seats are very comfortable, and they've recently renovated and installed reclining seats with foot rests that raise out for you to stretch out a bit. The first time I went I had an amazing meal, but it was pre-pandemic, and the menu still hasn't been quite what it used to be since then. That being said, their menu has filled out quite a bit and their burgers and the poke bowl are my favorite items. The truffle fries are great too. Highly recommend you go for the upgrade. They have a full bar if you want to enjoy a drink with your dinner and movie experience! The service is usually great, but we had one evening where the food we ordered never showed up and I had to miss about ten minutes of the movie we went to see to track down our server and get them to put our order in again. We never really got much of an explanation about what happened, but we've been back several times since without such an incident. If you're looking for dinner and a movie, this is a solid bet. read more

Visited a show on 9/3 at 8pm. I arrived at 7:20PM and bar was out of bottled water. My dinner experience was horrific as it took quite some time for someone to tend to our row and I the burger I ordered was not 2 Patties which I paid for. I hadnt eaten since breakfast so I was starving and after a couple bites, I noticed that I was eating mainly bread. I lifted the top of my burger off to find that I was served 1 tiny patty and half a patty. This was super disappointing given the $88 paid for this crappy meal. This is a classy movie theater with a unique brick-stone vibe with an average cinema experience. The screen and sound are decent but given AMC's Dolby Cinema, the "movie" experience was just okay. Also, the seats do not recline (but rock). Their food options are okay but overly priced. They do not have sides and force you to buy something to get that side. Most of all, their 18% (already included) gratuity is high. Overall, this theater looks nice but it's off-setting included gratuity coupled with an average cinema experience get them a 3/5. I would try this theater once, but go to another for a better cinema (sound and movie quality) experience. read more

If you are looking to kill two birds with one stone meaning dinner and the movie this is your place! Especially on Tempting Tuesday special when they have 5$ movie tickets and menu special any sandwich and app or desert for 18$. We went to see Avatar that's long movie so eating and snacking while watching movie definitely helped! If you have never been to Cinebistro they have oversized leather chairs that are very comfy but with very limited recline. There's a small swivel tray attached to each chair so once you're done eating you can push it out of the way! Food was okay and I didn't expect a lot! I do have to say popcorn,shrimp and chicken appetizer was yummy. Nice size lightly fried shrimp and white chicken pieces were perfectly cooked and crispy outside whole moist inside! All was mixed in with some popcorn and cones with spicy aioli dipping sauce. As entrees we had house bistro burgers which came with fries and were ok a bit dry nothing special. Food needs to be ordered before movie starts and they try to bring everything to you before lights go out. Our server was nice he took our order and everything came as ordered. It's sad that this is the only movie experience like this in the area. Highly overpriced for no reason. Ordered two burger meals and the menu said it was a double burger but that wasn't the case, not to mention it was so small that it looked lost on the bread. Mine was crispy it was so well done. Not sure why gratuity is automatically added when they take your order and someone else runs the food out and you never see them again. It was very annoying to smell soy sauce for 3 hours from empty plates sitting there. You have to get refills yourself and the cups are not big. Popcorn was the best deal there as you can get refills, too. We spent about $40 on movie tickets and then another $90 for food, 2 drinks, 2 burgers, popcorn. Seats are nice but that's become the new norm in theaters. This place should take notes from Cinema Cafe in Virginia Beach and surrounding areas. Good luck! read more
