Very disappointing experience at CMX Village 14. I traveled all the way from Winchester twice to watch The Devil Wears Prada, and both times I was not clearly informed that it was a "no pass" film. Only after arriving was I told that passes were not accepted. This is extremely frustrating and a complete waste of time and travel. Customers deserve clear information upfront, not surprises at the theater. I also spoke with John Smith, but the issue was not resolved, and no proper solution or accountability was provided. Overall, very poor communication and customer service. I would not recommend this location unless they improve how they handle and inform customers about ticket policies. read more

So. It's been over a year since I lived in the Village and I've seen several films here. I must say if you're not going to the iMAX (my preferred movie theater experience), the CMX in the Village is a great choice, especially screen 6 or 7. Those two are the two best screens. I've been coming to this theater for a handful of years now because it's so close. The service is pretty good and they have a solid selection of times for a lot of highly anticipated movies. I usually only like to go when there won't be a lot of people in there, so I've not really seen it be actually packed. They keep fairly clean theaters. I would say is they need to update and revamp some things because I have seen this theater when it was absolutely up-to-date and pristine. They need to change the carpets for sure and clean/change the escalators. You can purchase your tickets online, but you have to go see the concierge and have them scan your online code and they print the "ticket" for you. It's really only convenient in the way that you can have a pick of the seats that you want. They have concessions to offer with the normal selection of movie snacks as well as dinner menu items like burgers. They also have a bar. I've never really ordered dinner or drinks here, but their popcorn and fountain drinks are okay. You can always ask for a little bit extra butter in your popcorn if you wanted. I would love to see them really try to bring it back to how it used to be. I still continue to have solid experiences here and will keep watching movies on certain occasions for the convenience of it being so close. read more

I honestly liked the theater. My seat didn't recline but that seems to be my luck almost anywhere I go. This is the first theater I've been to that gives you enough nachos to share. Had a big bowl of chips and 3 small cheese containers. Popcorn was good they layered it with butter and the staff was very friendly. I liked the fact that it wasn't super busy. Lots of reviews talked about the lack of cleanliness but I didn't personally experience that. I didn't see any mice either and I read the reviews after going. The shrinkflation has hit this movie theater. The large popcorn has gone up in price and down in size and you no longer get unlimited refills. You get one refill per movie... it's not that nobody wants to go to the movies anymore. It's that the movie has become very expensive. Besides that it's a decent place to watch movies. The Alamo is slightly more expensive, but I think in my opinion worth it. read more

The CMX theater is convenient to us. As with the times, the box office is unstaffed and self service kiosks are available to buy or redeem tickets. However, many times these kiosks are not working properly so you may have to go upstairs to the concierge desk to get help. The last time I visited, the staff there knew the kiosks had issues and recommended you just come see them. The theater has a bar located near concessions on the second floor, which we haven't tried but looks pretty stocked. The concession area is a bit weird. You order at the desk then with or without a receipt go to redeem what you purchased behind the desk. The staff member preparing the popcorn and food usually just asks what you ordered without asking for proof. I was surprised they didn't have a printed ticket for him/her after you order at the concessions register or ask us for our receipt. Also, the drink machines have cups out in the open which is a total trust factor. A lot different than other theaters in the area. There are reviews of mice at this theater but we didn't see any the times we have visited. The popcorn the last time we went was a little stale. The theaters are nice with reclining chairs and even retrofitted with 4D experiences. Some of the chairs have seen better days with the back popping off track as it reclines. Overall, the staff is very friendly, the theaters are designed well. I am rating this a 4/5 due to the issues with kiosks and concessions. read more

Not here..you have to go to Concierge, where he scans you, and prints your ticket. Seems like 1990. Concession Stand has seen better days, the popcorn seemed a bit stale. Again, old payment system where you have to hand them your card and they scan and you sign, very retro. I don't like retro. Gross facilities. Period. The concession area was disappointing. Decided against using the restrooms - the out of order stalls were about 4 and counting. Will definitely be going to a nicer theater next time, two tickets for $35 should have been a better / cleaner experience. I now understand why there were so many empty seats to choose from online when other theaters in the area didn't have hardly any for the same movie. Don't let the outside fool ya! Oh well. read more

Saw a movie tonight (7:15 showtime) and midway through the movie was visited by a surprise guest... a small mouse digging through my chicken tender bowl that I placed on the armrest next to me. At first I saw the bowl movie slightly, which startled me but I didn't see anything when I flashed my light at it. I moved the bowl to the empty seat next to me and the bowl tipped over without being touched. I shine my light at the seat corner and see this small mouse looking back at me. The movie was almost over so I moved seats and left my bowl where it was. I came back the and mouse had dragged the leftover chicken into the seat crack. Reported to a staff member who seemed unfazed by it. Never coming back here again, that's disgusting. I don't want mice rummaging through my food when I'm trying to enjoy a movie read more

We bought 3 D-box tickets for $90 to go see Avatar at this theatre an hour from our home. Half the things at concessions were broken or not available, two stalls in the ladies room were not working, the theatre we were in was hot and uncomfortable and the best part....the seats we paid a premium for and drove an hour away to enjoy did not work. Wife and I went to the movies on 9/30/2023. I do have a negative comment about the closed captioning device not working in Auditorium 5 yesterday. Those devices are important to the hard of hearing. We both had a burger and fries to eat, we didn't have dinner before we least. A decent burger, topings were fresh, could have used some salt on the patty itself. Overall a decent burger, not the worst I've ever had. The fries are awesome. So crispy, possibly the best fries in Leesburg. read more

Its a dirty , poorly run dumpster that happens to show movies. They swapped theaters because the original ones AC broke ( what a shock). The only thing is, the seats didnt line up row by row seat by seat. We went to our seats AND THEY DIDNT EXIST ! Quite literally . There were open spaces for Wheelchairs where every freaking one of my tickets were. The "Concierge" was very nice and apologetic ( the poor guy) . He had a stack of vouchers that he seemed to be used to handing out. He told us to go ahead and sit in the empty Wheelchair seats. I asked if he should just reserve them for us and he said it would be fine, go ahead. Big mistake. They sold THOSE seats as well. Oh but you can sit in the front row. Literally 3 ft from the screen looking 7 ft in the air ( at their crappy pixilated obsolete screen ) . No way. I got up and grabbed the first empty seat, which is what the rest of my party did. Sound of Freedom is a great movie. FU Disney for keeping it under wraps. So the theater is a dirty run down mess. It sucks. The parking lot is dimly lit full of cigarette butts and gives off a rapey vibe. The inside looks like it has not ben cleaned since I saw GOTG 3 back in March. One of the escalators was still broken and the space between them was full of filth . A horror movie stand up was hiding the real horror behind it, the broken water fountain covered in a garbage bag, They have a bar, but its always closed. Just as well, I'll bet the beer is flat and stale. The hallway to get to the theaters is positively third world. Scratch that. The third world has a peasant like charm and has the disadvantage of being poor. I am pretty sure the bottoms of my shoes were dirtier after I walked on the carpet. I had to take a pee after seeing the fabulous movie. Well, doom on me. All of the urinals were out of order and the commode was full of sewage. The entire mens room reeked of urine. read more

I went to see Superman and I thought the theater seats and setting was alright. The issue - this place was disgusting! Arm rest holders had syrup in them trashcans overflowing, the bathroom was gross with out of order stalls and the stench of urine covered floors.. but the worst was the refreshments! Old popcorn that was small and the bottom of the barrel - skimpy butter, the floor had popcorn that has been smushed flat and at spots slippery, but there were also many spots with spilled soda, straw wrappers.. and even a spot super slippery (with who knows what) - The place was a dump! This should be a health violation. Seemed poorly staffed, people that could care less about the experience.. and I tried paying in cash and they could not do that either. What a joke! For the amount they charge for stale popcorn and a messy place, it was almost a zero! The cool theater itself was the redeeming aspect. Clean up CMX! I felt racially profiled I was kicked out of the movie theaters for talking amongst myself and husband about the movie. We sat in the second to last row in the top of the theater in the back. We didn't realize until we started to record the incident was only two other people in the theater sitting in the front row of the bottom. There was an employee eating and watching the movie name Anna sitting behind us, shushing us. We never addressed her until she stood over us to tell us we can't talk I then realized she worked there after I told her we were going to speak with the manager. So me and my friend tried to get in the movie theatre for 5 hours. We went ahead and tried to pay for a ticket and they let us but we were 3 dollars short. The kind worker gave us free tickets but didn't tell us whatsoever so we thought he paid for one seat for both of us. We went to the popcorn worker got popcorn and 2 drinks but we accidentally forgot to pay. They came up to us saying to leave because we paid and me telling the truth said i thought my friend payed. But he didn't so i tried to ask them can we pay for the popcorn and drinks so we can watch the movie but they said no. We kept barging to let us pay and then they said don't make me get security which is stupid because security for trying to pay for something? This is my local movie theater but in the past year since Covid, this place has def gone downhill. So I understand they cut people from selling tickets downstairs which makes total sense. The kiosks are easy to use and you can also purchase tickets online. Once you purchase tickets you go upstairs. The bar is closed! And that alone takes a star away in my opinion. So once you get upstairs sometimes they check your tickets, sometimes they don't. I only come on Tuesday's when the tickets are $5 so it's not even worth "sneaking" in. There's also a Groupon for this theater in case you don't wanna wait till Tuesday to only pay $5. Okay so of course everything at the movies is a million dollars. The food is also cooked to order and takes approximately 15 minutes. My bf and I ordered a bacon cheeseburger and some mozzarella sticks. The chef was very nice. I would suggest that they give the option of bringing the food to you since I almost missed the beginning of the movie while waiting for the food. The manager was literally sitting on his phone behind the desk upstairs so he wasn't busy. All of the employees I encountered were pleasant. I will continue to come back on Tuesday's cause I'm a cheap hoe. Lol read more

DO NOT go to this theater!!! They have a serious mouse problem. Our family went to see Wild Robot in theater #14 and we had mice on our seats trying to get into our food. This theater is disgustingly unclean especially under the chairs. We asked for a refund and they refused said all they could do is give us vouchers for our tickets. Decent place to see a movie. Great seats, good sound, and picture quality. Great location at the Village at Leesburg, with plenty of parking and some good restaurants in easy walking distance. Can order tickets online, but generally need to pick them up from one of their kiosks rather than having it texted to phone or printed. They have a bar, but the selections of beer are not as good as the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema. Food options are a disappointment. Popcorn and beverages are way over priced and they don't have real butter it's that nasty fake butter flavoring topping. GROSS read more

Like the others have said recently, this is a dump of a movie theater now. So much so that I have decided to alert the county board of health to its condition, and operating manner. Went to watch Mission Impossible tonight (6:40 showing, 6/14/25). The theater was approaching 90 degrees inside of it, and they would not turn on the air conditioning. The bathrooms are absolutely horrendous, right up there with the worst gas station bathrooms that we have all come across in our lives. And pretty sure my fountain drink is the cause of my abdominal pain at the moment. We left midway through the movie. I went to complain and demand a refund. Half of the staff was sitting around the bar (including the manager) and the other half around the candy counter just having a good time. I asked twice for the air to be turned on. Once at the beginning. Once about 20 minutes into the movie. They wouldn't do it. Blamed it on mechanical failure, yet the main areas were nice and cool. But even still, to sell tickets for a theater that has no air conditioning in the middle of June, is simply not safe nor acceptable. I hope the place closes down and gets sold to a real operator who can make it nice again. Until then, I will never set foot in this place ever again, and I strongly advise you to reconsider if you're planning on seeing a movie here. It is just horrible. Clearly the ownership is in financial trouble and unable to properly and safely operate this movie theater. I have no doubt that if just one person in that theater tonight had a cold, 20 others likely have it now too, it was like sitting in a Petrie dish. read more

Went to watch Chang-chi in d-box seating. Amazing experience. Bar was open on a Sunday as well. Amazing drinks. I would get there 15 minutes early to grab food. Kitchen took a bit of time to make the food. So prepare ahead of time and come early. read more
