I wanted natural looking nails but something a little stronger and prettier than my natural nails. After looking at photos we decided on acrylic nails cut short and rounded, with gel polish. I loved the final result! They have lasted 2.5 weeks so far and plan to return here for a fill to keep them a bit longer. read more

Removal was very painful. He asked me to leave my fingers in the bowl with acetone in it which hurts my skin and left my skin super dry later on. Nail surface is uneven as well as shape. No gel on the tip of nail to prevent lifting, gel is all over the place, it causing my skin itching and gel has already lifting within a week. It was very unprofessional work I have experienced ever. After top coating, he applied hand lotion on my hands and I checked my nail but it was all wrinkled. So I asked him to fix. He buffed, reapplied coating, still winkle wasn't gone. He didn't wipe my nails even after the buffing but he said " You touch my hand. I have lotion on my hand that's why." Very disappointed. I tipped him more than 20% just because he asked me " what about tip?" at check out. There was nobody else but me and him. I just didn't want any conflict. read more

I want to add an updated review because my last review was years ago when they were still located across the street from elco. I am now only reviewing eyelash services because I no longer get any nail services here. A week ago I went to get my eyelashes done. I wanted a somewhat natural but still fuller set. I was very happy with the end results. The last time I got my lashes done (not here, at dtl salon by a hack named Kelly) they fell off in clumps starting the next day! With this set I've only had minor fall out and I know it's because I rub my eyes at night in my sleep. Only the very front ones have fallen to their death but that's fine. Minus one star because I was able to feel the glue for a couple of days and it was a bit scratchy when I closed my eyes. I've been coming here for the past year and I love the owners! They do everything from eyelash extensions to manicures/ pedicures... etc. There are only 2 of them so I recommend either calling before you go in or going in right when they open because it does sometimes get crowded. I've gotten my eyelash extensions done here before ($75 initial fee, to put on for the first time & $45 for refill) and she does a great job, it's also way cheaper than anywhere I've seen. I also go in mainly for acrylics and a pedi ($20-$35 depending on what you get) The only down side to this nail salon would be that the building seems to be a bit rundown but that hasn't stopped me from coming back. Nora rushes her work she finished my my new set of individual eyelashes in 25 -30 minutes...all eyelashes came off in a week. I called to explain to her what happened and asked if she can fix or replace them. I even offered to pay half she got extremely nasty with me. She asked for "evidence" i told her i can send pictures and also proff of her doing this job in record breaking time. She then refused the pictures. I went to her 3 different times and 2 of 3 ive been disappointed with her work! I read your response and im not going to remove the review i know for sure you did them way too fast which is why in less than a week they all came off i was indoors the majority of the trip! I found this nail shop by accident. I walked in and the shop had NO customers so I was skeptical. I proceeded to get my nails done on a prayer. I was greeted with a smile and small talk from both employees. I got a fill and pedicure in a 35 min span. Talking about fast service. I was pleased with my hands and 80 % of my feet. I wasn't offered callous remover and the stone looked generic so my feet were still rough on the bottom, leaving me to finish the job at home. The aesthetics of the place is sore to the eyes. I'm not sure if they are remodeling. The ceiling drywall is removed and covered with plastic. The furniture is old and very used. Once a year after a long year of working, standing up and walking I need to treat my feet. This was my first time visiting this nail salon and Nora was very friendly and socialable. I called around 9 am and she took me in right away because she was booked all day. Was horrible, horrible, horrible!!! How do you do eyelashes without cleaning them off with solutions like other shops do? How you do eyelashes at the speed of sound?? It was as if the building were on fire and she had to "Escape". I asked about her cleaning them off and she replied with the tweezers. I really hope that I do not get an eye infection. Sweet people! The work is not only terrific , but honest as well! I really did love how nice they were here, and the work was really awesome, so I left a $20 tip and a positive review. I got a pedi and mani, although one of my nails broke the day after /: but I did call to let them know and Nora was kind enough to let me know that they can fix it. But then on the second day Two more broke off, I definitely didn't have time to go back at all so I just took all my nails off . I've been going to Nora for 7 years!!! Awesome customer service, and treats her clients very good. I use her for nails, pedi and waxing. She really understands my moods, and what I'm looking for in services. I wear ONLY french tips on my nails, and my nails always look awesome, so much that I'm complimented regularly. I like a little art on my toes, and she is able to gauge what I'm looking for. I'm pretty tame compared to her other customers, but she gets that and puts me at ease. I can't say enough about this shop. I used to live in the area, and when I first moved there I went to 5 shops before finding her, and once I did I couldn't stop. Checked them out based on the Yelp reviews. PROS: - Cheap ($16 for pedicure, $25 for gel manicure) - Pedicure massage was great! But very very short. - End results look decent NEUTRAL: - They work FAST. I was out of there in probably 35 min for a gel manicure + pedicure. The pedicure massage was extremely short, and there was no manicure massage at all. But if you're pressed for time and just want results, this would be good. CONS: - The guy used a dremel to file down my previous gel nails. He also cut me a few times with the dremel. I think it took about the same amount of time as soaking them in acetone then pushing off the gel with a cuticle pusher or similar tool. Beware if you have brittle or thin nails. - They push hard with the cuticle cutter. - No base layer on the pedicure - No disinfectants anywhere. They didn't clean the foot bowl before or after my pedicure... The last point is worrying. I don't care about a place that's dusty or dated looking, but a place that's unsanitary is not worth the risk. This place is ok if you're on a tight budget and want to look fabulous. But if you can spend a little more I'd go somewhere that at least cleans the pedicure bowl. You get what you pay for. EDIT - Nora contacted me to let me know that the pedicure tub was indeed cleaned before me and since I was the last pedicure of the day, she went to speak to her contractor instead and cleaned everything after closing. read more

I began going to CN about a year ago now. I love the service that I receive when I go in for my lash appointments. Nora is really sweet & makes my lashes look flawless. Also, the pricing for mink lashes is great. Most lash techs price their lashes beginning at $100 so it feels good knowing I pay less and am still getting a quality set of lashes.
