I know they just opened so hopefully with time they can improve. Service - our group could not order until everyone in our party was there so we were left standing around. Once ready to order we were rudely met at the first register & told it was where we order our drinks only and then move on down the line to order our food? We couldn't choose where to sit either. Food - I got the fried chicken ramen, and it was good. Two others in our group got the pork rice bowl & the amount of pork for the price she paid was pitiful. Design - super cool but did they think about the line of those waiting to order funneling through where people are sitting? It seems hard to navigate & inefficient where the booths are with people trying to deliver food, get out of the booths and wait in line. I'd try it again but definitely get food to go. read more

Cute design and nice location. Grateful for more Asian food in Bentonville. We were excited to try it. The tonkatsu noodles and pork tasted good- a nice sweet roasted flavor. It was so salty though! Sadly, the vegan ramen had different noodles that tasted like they came from an instant noodle bowl. Kids noodle bowl was super mediocre. Okay, reading the other reviews emboldened me to give it to you straight. PROS *Clean casual-but-works-for-dinner décor with living (plant) wall and other zen-light touches. *Intentional vegetarian/vegan options *Toothsome-though-not-sublime ramen noodles *Ramen was hot (temperature wise) - which is important CONS *Weird and not wonderful seating and serving process. As noted before, assigned seating was cray (my inquiry as to whether we could grab a booth was met with "We have assigned seating and have you over there at the end of that (community) table...number ____"). Gee, is that a real answer to my question? If you don't want to open up the booths, just say "Gosh! I wish I could but that section's not open for lunch!" Free coaching for Co-op! There were literally five people dining when we were there. Being assigned a number/placeholder felt like process overkill. *Food. Us plant-based people are grateful whenever a restaurant intentionally uses words like "vegan". It shows such great courage in Northwest Arkansas to utter this word...even as other similarly-sized towns attack the opportunity and teem with options...(but I digress). Alas, the ramen broth was weak. Just a notch beyond "salted liquid" but way below places like Jinya (a chain worth the trip to Tulsa-the closest location). *Add-on options were puny. Co-Op could make a mint just piling on the add-ons (baby corn, bok choy, kale...whatevs!) and making it a bit more fun. Annnd, the "protein" problem. So, they passed the first, we-like-vegans hurdle but failed the next level. If you can throw pork, chicken and other sentient beings in the bowl, then balance out the vegan love and have Tofu (Co-op, if you're reading...not raw tofu) or even a groovy mock meat as an option. Canned wine - I guess this is a thing but can't you pop a cork?....unscrew a top? PETTY CONS $1.00 for chili oil? This one item explained everything for me...serve ramen-light, at a just-bearable price, pare down (all kinds of) options. But itemize stuff like...chili oil! Yeah! That's the ticket. Translation: Priorities are off at the Co-Op Oddly enough, I will probably return because I'm a sick soup nut. A hot bowl of most things with noodles gets me going. We have been so sceptical about this place because of the other reviews. We weren't fond of Ramen Nara, so we were very nervous about this one. My hubby and I finally checked it out tonight, and it was great. I had the vegan miso, and it was loaded with veggies. Can't wait to go back with the whole family. read more

The spicy tori paitan is delicious. The karaage (fried chicken) in it is amazing. It could stand to be a little spicier, but adding a side of chili oil (made in house!) definitely helped. The shiitake gyoza were also good. It's a cool little spot in the 8th street market with great vibes - the plant wall was an awesome touch! Definitely worth checking out!! And in case you're worried about Pushparaj and W.O.'s reviews, let me propose an alternative to the tales of inadequate seating, poor service, and missing salt... A party of 6 shows up at a restaurant demanding a booth. The party is kindly informed (as one would be at any restaurant) that the booths are rather small, and they can be conveniently seated in the community area. "Nay!" says the party, "We demand a booth by golly!" The restaurant obliges (as the customer is always right) and they get their gosh-darn booth. But what? What's this?? It seems as though the party immediately realizes their bullheadedness! The booth is, in fact, quite small! But alas, their pride is too great. They cram in that 4-person booth, all 6 of them. Shoulder to shoulder. Like a bunch of dimwitted sardines. Their pride kicks in. We look like fools! This is a terrible idea! It must have been the restaurant's! "Move us immediately!" they demand, "I see an open booth yonder!" The restaurant responds, "Well, as you may have noticed, the seating is assigned when you order, so even though you *see* an empty booth, it could belong to someone in line, let me check." To their dismay, the booth is indeed taken. Still, the restaurant graciously offers to accommodate the party in the community area, and all is well in the world. But wait! The drama is not complete! One of the more well-refined palates in the party senses a disturbing lack of salt in their dish. The restaurant informs the saline connoisseur that they do not have table salt but can certainly offer some sea salt... which just so happens to be better in literally every way. But it is not SEA salt they are after - what kind of restaurant doesn't have SALT?! And that is the last straw. No one must ever come to this restaurant again. Does any of this sound familiar? I mean I don't work there, but it seems equally (read: more) likely than your story (after all, I do know for a fact they'll give you sea salt, so that calls in to question the veracity of your review). So, in the end, you immediately hop onto Yelp and leave not one, but two, one-star reviews. A helpful "FYI don't show up here with more than 4 people and expect to sit at one booth, and BYO table salt" would have sufficed, but you would rather get your frustration out that the world didn't revolve around you for a minute and it was a terrible inconvenience. If the food wasn't great or the service was slow, sure, knock a couple stars off. But we're here to try to determine if we will like a restaurant, and your self-centered babble doesn't help us. And the fact that you (AND your friend who left the other review!) are so mad about not having table salt proves you have no taste in anything and are not qualified to leave a review anyway. My husband lives for ramen, and he loved this spot. We stopped by 8th street last night and was surprised to see they were open. Not only open, but running very smoothly. We ordered the shiitake appetizers-- amazing! And the vegan ramen was very good- my husband added soy sauce for extra salt, but I thought the broth was perfect. I tried this new restaurant after much anticipation. Unfortunately I was very disappointed. Without wait staff or a host, you are asked to order immediately upon entering. The staff person taking out orders was nice enough and quite proud of her ability to pronounce the Japanese menu items. She asked us if we wanted to sit a communal table or at either side of the bar. When we asked about a booth we were told that was reserved for groups of 3 or more and we were only two. This was disappointing as it was a work lunch and some of the items we were discussing required discretion. I probably would have accepted it without much though except, the cashier changed after our order and the very next group of two in line were given a booth without even asking their preference. Discrimination at worst, poorly trained staff at best. The food was fine, but I'll be going across town to the other Ramen house next time. I hope they work out their concept soon, unfortunately this one is still half baked. read more

Ramen is finally here! This spot should be classified and known as the first Ramen spot in Northwest Arkansas. The customer service is great and the layout of the restaurant has its own style that you'll love! My boyfriend and I live and California, our go to special food is Ramen. If we find a ramen spot, we try it! This Ramen was excellent! Personally, being a picky noodle person, I would love an option to change to a thicker style, but the ones they use are still good. That's why I selected 4 stars for RAMEN LOVERS!! If you havent had Ramen, this is a great place to start. I love this place. My wife and I have traveled to Japan and ate ramen every day. The ramen at CO-OP is the closest thing we've found in NWA to what we ate in Tokyo (not as good but satisfies the itch). Ramen with fried chicken and loaded with spice is my favorite. read more

Never come here with a party great than 4 ... I had a really bad experience. Our party of 6 got seated in a table only fit 4 people. And the waiter didn't even ask us weather we want to split to 2 groups or wait for a larger table. When we asked if we can split our group, they said no and told us no seat available, but we saw some empty tables around. What's even worse, when I asked for salt because I felt like they forgot to put salt in it, their answer surprised me, they said "sorry, we don't have salt." A restaurant which doesn't have salt. I've had some pretty good ramen, from my travels in Asia to big cities in America, and none of them have been this salty. The environment was great, however. I just don't know if it's really worth a bowl of overly salty water and noodles. I was told that my noodles would be out in "less than 4 minutes" which was true, until they were the wrong noodles because the servers didn't know which was which. It took a while for them to figure out how to fix the mess-up, and the lady who took up my bowl after I told her it was incorrect seemed kind of pissed. I was pretty excited about this place. Heard some good reviews from friends. Ordered 2 ramens and gyoza for pickup. Got all the way home and realized I never got the gyoza! But I live 30 mins away so I just called and ask to refund the gyoza cause I wasn't going to drive back. The man on the phone had a huge attitude. To top it all off, the food was pretty average. I'm a big fan of their spicy chicken ramen bowl. So good and warms you right up. I've eaten indoors a few times and always enjoy it, though it can be a bit cold sometimes. They are so process oriented there that it can be annoying. For example, they will tell you where to sit in the restaurant, even when there is ample space to choose where one want might to sit. But the food and ambience and good and that's enough for me. Great location if you're walking from the momentary museum next door. read more

We visit Japan twice a year for family. We had the tonkotsu shio and the tonkotsu shoyu. Tonkotsu shoyu and tonkotsu shio both had thick broth which was great, but could be a little lighter, shoyu was salty but it is supposed to be, tonkotsu shio not as salty as the shoyu. Tamago was done right with a sweet marinate. Noodles were al dente and typical for this style which was great. Will be back for another bowl when we are traveling through. read more

Amazing edamame--seasoned with salt and lemon zest. The miso vegetarian ramen was just okay. It needs some spice and more layers of flavor. It was too one dimensional. The broth makes or breaks a ramen bowl and the miso broth was pretty blah. read more
