Went for happy hour (3-5:00). I had a Pina Dorado recommended by Am B our server. Not a margarita! Unusual and very tasty served with 1 large square ice cube. The spicy marg was also tasty. Ordered the Elote Bowl app which was great although the house made tortilla chips were seasoned with a spicy salt which rather overpowered the Elote. However we asked for plain chips and they made them up FRESH. Great customer service!! My wife ordered Enchiladas Verde. She generally only orders 1 ala carte and the dinner came with 3 enchiladas + rice and beans ... it was huge so we had take home boxes. I had the chili rellanos which were 2 good sized poblano peppers stuffed with a great cheese mixture, breaded and fried. They were tasty and really good. We were joined by a friend who had the happy hour beef tacos ... also really good. They had a wide nicely curated selection of tequilas, mezcals, sotols, etc. Molly, an off-duty employee, gave me a quick education on 'washed' tequilas, etc. Molly knows her stuff + Am B was very attentive. Closed soon for a month but plans are to reopen for summer and beyond. We loved the experience!!! As an addendum, they specifically told me how to reheat my Rellano later! In addition, the spice on the Rellano was truly unusual and spectacular upon reheating. I hadn't really noticed that at the restaurant!!! read more

We stop here every time we go to Breck. After a long day of skiing nothing hits quite as good as some hot Mexican food with a little kick. It's a small restaurant but there's a good amount of space and pretty calm around 8 on a Saturday. The server was nice and our food came out quickly. My tacos were a little on the colder side-they must have been waiting on the birria ones, but weren't overly filling for the size of them. The prices were also very reasonable for Breck. read more

One of the best new additions to Breckenridge! Coa Cantina has the most amazing drinks and even better food. It's definitely one of our go-tos, especially on the weekend for a football Sunday (they open early). We have tried almost everything on the menu and have not had a bad meal. The mini chimichangas are incredible, but if I'm looking for something more I always go to the quesadilla. Their drink menu is extensive and the servers are always ready to recommend a drink if you need a suggestion. Very excited to apres here all winter long! read more

I would give this a 3.8 stars. The service, atmosphere and concept is great and mostly the food is good. Chorizo tacos were pretty good as were the birria tacos. The guacamole and salsas are not too flavorful and the rice was okay. The hibiscus water was really good. I would come back again especially to try the drinks. read more

The jury is still out for me on Coa Cantina. Loved Yo Mammas Cantina in the same location so had high expectations. Very nice upgrade to the dog-friendly patio. Nice, attentive waiter who checked on our needs often. Food was good - we shared the combo of chips with guac, salsa and queso. It was delicious. We then each had a taco - I know the shrimp as well as the carne asada tacos were well-received. One enjoyed their marg. Sitting outdoors was great, very pleasant patio. Convenient parking nearby. Prices seemed a touch high for us, and food was a bit slow coming out - they blamed an issue with food tickets. We enjoyed our late lunch and will likely try again. read more

Have odd thoughts on this place, from the order to the food. It's just a total "meh". The guac had an odd taste, chips were likely made during the battle of Alamo due to their taste. Agua Fresca - nothing was Fresca about that agua. Extremely watered down and bland. The tacos had a very odd taste to them, not sure if it was the spices, the cooking process or the quality of the meat. Overall just not a good spot in my opinion. The food is not Mexican - it's made to look as such but not a place I would recommend. Oh well. read more

Our meal at Coa Cantina last night was overall just OK. First, the positives..... the service was excellent. Shout out to Nick, who did a great job! I also appreciate that they have vegetarian options on their menu. We enjoyed the jackfruit tacos. We also had the tortilla chips with guacamole, pineapple, salsa, and queso. All were good but not great. I had the cabbage salad, but I literally could not taste the dressing. Our friends had the chicken Molé and torta and they said both were good. My husband had the posole, and it didn't have very much flavor. Overall, we probably would not go back to this restaurant. I know they are new, so hopefully they will work out the kinks and work on a few of their recipes. read more

New owners and a fabulous menu! Libby and her partner spent 2 months remodeling the interior and the changes are wonderful. The food is some of the best Mexican we've had, including from food trucks which actually is a huge compliment. My husband and I both had the quesabirria tacos and they were simply fabulous. We can't wait to return to try the rest of the menu. The bartender was focused and friendly and my margarita was top-notch. Even the expo who delivered the plates from the kitchen had a pride that you could see. It won't be long before everyone else finds out about this tiny restaurant off the beaten path in Breckenridge. Went here for lunch after skiing. Hubby and I both really enjoyed it! Had chips, salsa, queso & and a rita for apps. All were delicious! Ordered takeout. All of our choices were delicious! The carnitas were tender and full of flavor and the tacos were fantastic. The guacamole was chunky and a little spicy - perfect. Many restaurants have take out containers that seem like an afterthought, but Coa packaged all of our food nicely and in containers that were great for takeout. read more

The food was very good. My wife had the chorizo tacos and she really liked them. I had a chicken burrito and it was very good also. The burrito needed a little salsa. They charged for a tiny cup of salsa which I thought was odd. Service was excellent and we were asked several times how things were. They did upgrade the inside of the restaurant from the previous one. Most of the tables are high tops. Not a big fan. The normal seating is by the bathrooms. Not great. It is a little pricy for Mexican food. I would suggest going during happy hour. Not have to go in town and find a parking spot is a plus. Shouldn't be an issue finding parking. read more

Food was good but a little high for what you get. Service depends on how busy they are. Ambiance is okay inside but very noisy when busy. On a beautiful day the patio is great! Have not tried happy hour yet but went a couple times for dinner. read more

We were excited to try this place based on previous reviews and were incredibly disappointed. The queso was bland, rice tasted like tomato paste and the chile relleno was undercooked with no flavor. We also ordered the carne asada taco plate and the meat was cooked like barbacoa. At the end of our meal, they informed us they have a new cook which might be why our experience was so different than previous reviews. read more

Just alright, nothing really special. Rellenos had good poblanos but mostly bland with coating and cheese. Brisket tacos were slightly better but still fairly average. Better margarita (Tommy's) and good hazy IPA. $80 was a little much for meh experience for two. And yes I know good authentic Mexican when I taste it. read more

Coin Margarita's for $13 per were too sweet. Could not taste any tequila. We had 2 each - 4 total. You'd think after spending $52 on margarita's you'd at least feel a slight buzz, but nope. Fish taco plate was a huge disappointment. It was the absolute thinnest piece of fish, maybe 1/4" thick, then breaded & cut into 3 small strips, 1 thin strip per taco. Chips & salsa & nice service are this place's only saving grace. I'm surprised by the great reviews. We left after our lunch, still hungry, $100 poorer & hugely disappointed. read more
