I get that my age is not the target market for Uniqlo, but I also know that there are a few nuggets of gold throughout the store relative to casual leisure wear, and after a hunt, I found a few shelves and racks full of pants...and after a quick fitting room visit, I scooped up a few colors of each and made our way to the registers. The store is multi-story, as is most on Michigan Avenue. It is also insanely busy, but given the size and layout, it does not feel overwhelming. The store is laid out well, organized, well kept and clean. You constantly see staff members stocking, fixing, re-hanging, etc... In addition to the clothing, there is a custom embroidery section upstairs. We did not partake, but it was busy and I saw several cool pieces leave the area. Service was the only thing a bit off. The staff were quick, but not engaging or necessarily friendly. While there were lots of people on the floor, they never seemed to engage you unless explicitly requested. No big deal, but noticeable. The two tablets that are sectioned off to the left are for embroidery only, whereas the other tablets to the right are for printing on shirts and tote bags. You cannot embroider on the smallest fanny pack, only the larger one. Bring the blanks that you want to embroider with you to the counter. On the tablet, you can choose the embroidery patches you want and the placement. You are limited to 3 embroidery patches per bag. When you're finished, click the prompts to the next screen. After you're done on the tablet you can pay for the blanks and the embroidery service at the same time. The person helping me at the embroidery area was so friendly and did a great job answering questions. I placed an order around 3pm on a Saturday and it was ready 24 hours later. Pick up was also disorganized, as there isn't a designated pick up area. You have to go to the tablet area and try to grab the attention of someone working, but they're so busy helping others that it took a while to pick up my bags.

This location was a block from my hotel. Unlike my local store though, the footwear section was dismal. Everything was either orthopedic or for pole dance. There was literally no in between - except for these black patent leather jawns that matched the exact vibe of my outfit and the event. Score! I did feel like the 34.99 price tag was a little steep. These would have been 29.99 in NJ but that's the city upcharge I guess. The quantum quickness with which I scooped them up should be studied. Thankfully, the toy section was legit, too as I couldn't show up to my new nephew's empty-handed.
