The train goes down and back but does not turn around so if you get the lake side you'll get it on the way out and back. Also if you get table 1 you'll be served first!

We did ask about the cost: The guard told us that the road has been owned by the family for ~100-150 years or so. At some point in the early 1900s the government decided that Mt. Washington itself would become a National 'property' (I honestly cannot remember if it's a state park or national monument or what). But the government did allow the family to keep their road. It's the only way to the top. Driving up the 7-8 miles you can see the amount of maintenance required year-round, so there's where (I assume) a good chunk of your money goes. It was a fun and amazing drive. From hairpin turns to parts that were just gravel roads to fantastic views, it had everything. Beautiful scenery. Super fun getting stuck behind drivers who clearly had no idea that you could actually go faster than 5 mph. Ugh. You do get a 'This Car Has Gone Up Mt. Washington' bumper sticker. Fun. But this is worth it for the top. Even without hiking around, plan to spend at least a half hour, and maybe several hours, just walking around seeing the sights and reading about the history at the top. It's amazing. And highly worth the trek!! ***And on the way down PLEASE pay attention to all of the signs saying to put your vehicle in low gear to save your brakes. This is NOT rocket brain surgery and made it very easy for us to get back down while saving probably 1,000 miles on brake pads.

The road is very, very narrow and you must be very careful to take it slow, take breaks in the various turnouts (check out the amazing view!), drive in low gear, and go easy on your breaks coming down. Most of the road is well-maintained, but the edges of the road in some parts are pretty severely washed out. The gift shop at the top is nice but small and crowded. We also went to the small but informative museum - pay what you choose. No matter the weather at the base or the time of year, it's colder at the top than you think it will be, so BRING A SWEATER.

Today, I've had a very disturbing experience. Briefly: luggage carousel took a long time to get rolling (about 40 minutes). I called the dispatch to alert them so that they'd know A) I'm not ghosting and B) probably don't want to rush to the pickup zone if they have a better place to wait. 30min into my wait (25min after my courtesy call), the boss from headquarters calls me and demands that I tip the driver extra because they don't pay him to wait more than 30min. And he wasn't nice about it. Thing is, I'd already tipped nicely on the pre-pay (which the rude caller knew), and given the hard time we were all having with this delay and a late hour, I was planning to give a little cash too. This call changed my experience, changed my feeling about tipping the extra (I couldn't feel anything but resentment), and also admittedly reduced the amount of that extra cash when I did cough it up. Driver also made it clear that he was not happy to be here, and that I was obviously a tremendous inconvenience. For the price I paid, I would have appreciated a bit more commiserating attitude versus a misdirected anger attitude. Waiting isn't super fun for anyone, but at least he was sitting in a warm car and had all of his belongings. Please anyone who has a better airport limo company in this area feel free to DM me.

We have always used Flight Line for well over 25 years and I was ready for a change since FlightLine is not as good as they used to be. Dan (Callahan) answered my phone call immediately, he was absolutely wonderful to deal with, over the phone and in person! He arrived to our house 15 minutes early, his vehicle fit all 6 of us comfortably with luggage! He loaded all of our luggage and carry-ons in his vehicle and provided bottled waters for each of us, the ride was comfortable and he is very professional, personable and friendly. I can 100% say that we will never use another airport transportation service again. He has earned our repeat business for sure!
