This Petsmart has been our go to for things for our pup when we need something. They are always stocked, and it's so fun to come in and shop the clearance after seasons as we always find great deals. Located in the plaza of randhurst, there are tons of businesses nearby. The only thing that I wish was better was the staffing, whenever we need helping getting something down or finding a product it is almost impossible to find someone to help without having to pull the only cashier away that is ever up there. We've seen their puppy day care and have seen a few training classes. It seems that they get a great crowd for those classes as well. Overall, a great store for all of your pet needs. read more

This is a big and clean PetSmart with plentiful parking. We normally visit the closer PetSmart in Niles for dog treats and such but the son had a vet appointment here for his dog and we brought her to the Banfield Pet Hospital on the premises. Besides the pet hospital, there was also a pet hotel, a dog sitting station, and a dog grooming station. Besides a huge inventory of pet food, I also saw birds and the aquarium section. I didn't look for other critters but I'm sure there's more of them around in the store! All of the staffers were friendly during my one and only visit here, and it's a thumbs up for this store! read more

Took my dog in for a nail clip and paw hair trim. Waited 20 minutes for nothing. He's nails are still long and the hair on the bottom of his paws was not cleaned up. I spent $30 for absolutely nothing. I will NEVER go there again. If your dog needs this service, save the stress of your pet and go to a professional groomer. read more

Upon bringing our cat in for boarding the night before our trip we were told he did not have one required Vaccine (FVR). I checked his history of vaccines, and he's never received it. I suppose because he's a strictly indoor solo cat. Nonetheless we weren't happy to be told this at the last minute. We tried to find a place to administer the shot but were then told they need 48 hours to determine the efficacy of the shot. Manager said it's 100% required and nothing he could do about it. In their defense we were previously given a link to vaccines required and it was on the list but we just never even thought he wouldn't have received it Luckily we were able to set up extra food, water and an extra litter box to get him through a week. I just wish there'd be a verification process prior to the final minute. read more

They were awesome with my Chihuahua! My dog, Peach, gets so much anxiety from getting her nails clipped and filed and it is difficult for anyone to get close to her. They took their time and made it much more stress free for Peach than I ever could. One groomer held her close distracting her while the other got to work. The only thing I'm upset about is that I didn't get the names of the great dog lovers that took such good care of her! We can't wait for our next trip to the Petsmart Salon!! PLEASE DO NOT GET YOUR DOG GROOMED HERE. My 5 month old golden doodle had his first grooming session here and was left traumatized. The staff did not mention anything about his cut, tried to just cover it up, and it was not noticed until the moment we got to the car in the parking lot. His nail was over cut and poor thing was bleeding all over and so much. On top of that the staff seemed to be so annoyed with him and it showed even to me in a rude way, he was a 5 month old puppy who had never been groomed before so 1. I would hope anyone could take sympathy to that new experience, and 2 he was a puppy. As a first time dog owner It took me 2 months to be able to get him calm enough to cut his nails again because he was so scared. Yet there was no problem or fear prior to this appointment. This was a horrible experience and I feel so guilty for ever bringing my dog here. We have been going to a new groomer for the past 5 months and not a single issue. read more

I cannot say enough good things about this PetSmart. From the friendly employees to the great staff in the PetsHotel and the Doggie Day Care. My Cheeto is so excited when we even pull into the parking lot he canot contain himself. That's a testament to how well they treat the pets there. He loves me but doesn't even want to say bye to me when they get a leash on him to bring him in. Their amazing events are the highlights of my month, getting pictures of my Cheeto when he is with them is one of the best things. Cheeto also gets his grooming done here. You actually get a great discount on day care when they get their grooming done on the same day, talk about convenience! Their staff and employees are all great and friendly and always welcoming. When I had pets, this place served them super well! I stop in from time to time to check out the parakeets and chinchillas. The critters all really come alive at night and are fun to see. The only downside is the cat area... there's almost always droppings sitting out in their cages. Ew. read more

I took my dog for grooming today. After checking in I left. Allan the manager says they can't groom my dog because she has a hip issue. They never asked for any medical conditions when I booked. Allan said it was a judgment call? She's a 4 year old rescue dog and I don't know where's the compassion? Allan the manager and Petsmart should not discriminate! Companies that serve animals shouldn't have liability and profits as their true goals! I hope that Karma bites them in the ass! They will fail for treating animals and people like crap!!!!!' We recently started going to this location after our dogs groomer, Lyla, left Petco in Skokie. It's a beautiful new petsmart. They have 3 freezers of raw food and even freeze dried food. Booked a grooming session for my pup, since my normal groomer was booked for quite some time. Website originally said price was $55. When booked, using the correct breed, was told it was $60. At checkout, price increased to $72. Was told he was "larger than expected", so they changed the breed type to charge me more. My pup is a 13 lb Havanese. They inspected him at drop off and said nothing about a 20 % increase due to "size". I refused to pay and they corrected the bill. Another customer had the exact same issue I had at the same time. Felt like they were upcharging just to see who would pay without question. On top of if, groom was mediocre. Long tufts of hair left between dogs paws. Fax not trimmed Ears whacked off. Will never come back, will just wait for our normal groomer to be available. read more

Groomer review: If you want a quality cut for your Dog, save yourself the headache and take them somewhere else. Without getting into too much detail, I've brought my pup here quite often in the past 10 months for a groom. I have a high maintenance dog. Out of the many times I brought her the only time she came out looking good was the one time she only needed a face trim and bath. The last two and absolutely final time I brought her for a groom, she came home and was extremely ill. So much so I have an ER vet visit bill to show for it. This last time, she was vomiting so much she passed out and we had to rush her to the ER at 11:30 at night. I want to be clear, I do NOT blame the groomers for her illness. But I wonder what she went through for her to be so ill after her visits. Needless to say I requested and received a refund for her sloppy groom ( I was charged for requesting to use her own CHI shampoo, which I purchased from there, AND they also charge $25 if you want them to use their own CHI? What??) If I can add this, I highly recommend checking out Andreas right down the road! They're amazing! So my friend adopted a 15 year old rescue who's brilliant and was diagnosed with cancer on her lungs . She displays aggression towards other dogs. I spoke to Matt who is the trainer and was told they don't deal with aggression . He was so empathetic and wonderful and gave me great advice . I'm sure if your pooch needed any training he would be remarkable. read more

Awful, awful, awful!!! I will never return to this store even if you paid me. My dog stayed at the hotel when I was out of town and she's been completely terrified of going back to Petsmart since. She was so scared of one of the staff that she even peed on herself and ran away, which is totally unlike her because she loves people. The so-called training program is a joke and a total ripoff; these people are only after your $$$ The staff are completely unprofessional and the store is run by children ("managers" are all in their 20s), so there's really little recourse for anything that happens in this store. I have contacted Corporate to alert them to the situation but knowing Corporate America I doubt that will do anything... so I'm posting on here for whoever is lucky enough to see this before wasting their time at this store ‍ read more

Review on their puppy play dates: I am extremely annoyed. I had signed up for a puppy play date a month prior to drive 30 minutes only to be turned away because of no notification given their play date is cancelled. Apparently, no puppies showed up, but another woman came in with a puppy right after me and was turned away as well. My suggestion is they have a 15 min grace period to see if any puppies show up at all or simply just give notification to those who signed up as a simple courtesy. Also, they need state somewhere in the website a complete list of vaccines the puppy must receive in order to participate in these play dates because I was turned away a month prior due to this lack of communication. This is such a disappointment for my puppy. I could have planned more accordingly and taken him else where on BOTH occasions. read more

We started taking our dog here for baths when she was just a puppy, so she could get used to people bathing her/doing nails/cleaning her ears. Alyssa was always our groomer, and she did a great job every time! Our pup always looked great, and her nails were always done fantastic. We should've just waited for her this time around! We went in one day for a nail grind/ear cleaning, and had missed Alyssa for the day. It was just basic stuff, and figured it wouldn't be a big deal. We checked in, and were told the person doing the services was in training. (We weren't asked if it was okay, we were just told.) After leaving the room so the pup didn't get antsy trying to get back to us, we walked around for a second, then watched for them to be done. At one point, we saw her jump and pull her paw back a little bit. It was a little bit out of the ordinary, because she's typically really good about it - but figured they might've cut a nail too short. We never saw her ears get cleaned, and just figured it was done while we walked around. When we grabbed her, they said everything was great and didn't mention anything happened. Later that night, we noticed she kept licking her paw. After looking closer, we saw that she had a cut on it. It clicked that they probably slipped doing her dew claw, and went right across the top of her foot. That's why she had jumped on the table. Now I understand that things happen, but they should have owned up to it, instead of trying to hide it. It was really aggravating that we had to find out because she kept going after it. We checked her ears too to see if they had actually cleaned them, and saw there was still dirt and wax. I emailed the company, because I don't think this is a good business practice. Never received a response, or even an apology so now we take her elsewhere. read more

I went into pet smart on September 5, 2022 at 12:45 needing to get deworming pills for my cat. I needed to get more info and I asked the lady that checked me out if she knows anything about these pills but she directed me to the hospital so I went to the back of the store where the hospital is located. The woman at the desk went and asked the doctor about the simple question I had which was - How often should I give this medication to my cat? It's pretty common-sense that if you buy something from a store and have questions about it, the employees should be able to answer the questions with no problem. But that's not the case here!!!! After 10 minutes of waiting , the woman that was trying to help us came back letting us know that she got in trouble (WHEN IT WAS NOT HER FAULT) for assisting us because we had "no medical relation" with the store & told us that the Dr. said to check the box & that the information would be there but THE DR LIED TO US AND MISTREATED HER EMPLOYEE FOR TAKING CARE OF COSTUMER WITH A CONCERNING QUESTION ABOUT MEDICINE FOR THEIR CAT. Took my Pomeranian to the pet smart groomer for the first time. Could say I am never going back. Garbage hair cut. My dog looks ridiculous. Asked them to leave his head and tail alone. But of course my request was ignored and my dog comes out looking like a complete mess. The trim on his head and around his face is completely uneven. Pictures in the red collar are the after haircut pictures. The picture where he is not wearing a collar is a normal hair cut from another groomer that I should have stuck with instead of wasting my time at PetSmart. read more

The people in the fish department need more learning on fish. I get different information on my questions. I lost a guppy because my beta fish Karen ate the guppy up with The tail out of her mouth. It got me angry. I feed all of my fish! They should have told me that bettas would be ok in a tank by itself. All the fish seem to get along, but my Betta was constantly eating, didn't feel good, didn't die but she seemed hungry for some reason and ate my other fish. They told me to get a one gallon and it's not the correct information Ken who has been working with me suggested a 3 gallon before. I should have done that but I'm Not investing for another tank for my betta Karen. Ken is terrific and knows information on fish but he wasn't at work when I went there. read more

Brought our dog here for the first time for doggie day care. Everyone seemed nice . The facility from the outside at the counter seemed nice as well. Only reason why they are not getting more stars is 1. Our dog came home very sick and for two days had awful bathroom problems. 2. No one explained anything to us even though they knew it was our first time with day care only had us fill out paper work. 3. They didn't even offer to show us the inside where our dog would be or the crates the hold the dogs in until we arrive. Which she was in. 4. When we came to get our dog it took the lady almost 10 minutes to even find her since she didn't know who our dog even was lucky for us we made she she went with her collar . 5. They didn't even really seem interested in meeting our dog before they placed her in the room. Because of this we won't be back to this location. Their Grooming Salon is the absolute worse. I've taken my dog to a different PetsMart for grooming for over 2 years and never had problems. However after moving 5 months ago, I've been to this grooming salon three times with my dog and had issues every time. They lost my dog's appointment, rabies records, were rude, forgot to call me to pick up my dog, and lost my paperwork. On my most recent visit, I picked my dog up shortly after they called and he was shedding more than when I brought him in and his nails weren't cut fully. When I mentioned it to them, they tried to charge me extra for a nail clipping and to brush him. Both of these are included in a standard bath. They didn't want to fix it because they said they didn't have time. Don't go here, it's a mess. I won't be back. read more

I stopped here today to use some coupons and stock up on treats for my dogs. Staff people here were very friendly and the store was very clean. As I was shopping I noticed that this location has a 'doggy day camp.' Boy did those poor dogs look bored. There were two employees hanging out by the check-in desk and another employee inside the play area more or less twiddling his thumbs. Some of the dogs were laying down staring out the windows; they looked so sad. I thought doggy day camp was supposed to be fun for your dog; a way for them to release all of that energy, socialize and play. I didn't get that impression here. The guy working in the play area wasn't even trying to play with the dogs--then again, maybe the employees are just there to supervise? Who knows. I'm sure this service is very costly and I sure wouldn't bring my pets here to be watched. read more

One day, when we inquired about using their daycare service, they told us they don't allow my dog's breed.
