I came here for the sole purpose of obtaining a Visa to China for my trip, coming up in 2 weeks. First of all, DO NOT BE FREAKED OUT BECAUSE THIS IS A CHINATOWN ESTABLISHMENT!! Don't even pretend you're NOT intimidated to walk into a room full of Chinese-speaking ladies. Lucky for you, everyone here speaks English too. I shopped around for places in Boston to get a Chinese Visa before taking the plunge. I was SO SO close to doing it with ItsEasy, but I read these Yelp reviews and saved myself a good chunk of cash. Feti charges $175 total. ($140 for the visa itself, and the rest processing/getting your passport to NY, etc.) ItsEasy was going to charge $199. (And more if you apply for multiple entry!) The girl who helped me - Tiffany Lo - did an incredible job. She even helped me fill out my application form. Having someone hand hold you through the application makes you feel REALLY good about it. I applied for a single entry within 6 months, and guess what, I got a MULTIPLE entry within 1 year!!! Feti did NOT require any travel proof (like ItsEasy), and all you need is 1 (not 2, like ItsEasy) passport photo with a white backdrop. After I dropped off my passport with Tiffany, she told me it would take a minimum of 10 days, and voila! Day 10, I got a call from her to come pick up my passport. She even remembered my face as soon as I walked through the door. Literally just picked up my visa, and I cannot stress enough how easy and simple the process was through Feti. I think the nominal fee is absolutely worth all the would-be hassle of traveling to the NY consulate. Payment was via check or cash. I was in communication with Judy, who was very responsive and clear with all my questions during the entire process. Just make sure you fill out the form completely and have all the necessary lodging info - the agent will usually do a look-through when you drop the forms and your passport off. It literally took only 2 weeks from drop-off to pick-up. Upon pickup, Judy verified all the info on the visa/passport with me and wished me safe travels. For some reason, I forgot that I needed a visa to travel to China, and I was shocked that some people travel to NYC to wait in a line at the Chinese Embassy to get a visa. Save your time and hire a travel agency to get your visa for you! For what it's worth, my mother had trouble applying for a visa in-person at the embassy, but a travel agency was able to get her a visa easily. Feti Travel was open 1h later than other agencies in the area, and it was highly rated on Yelp, so I gave it a go. The process was extremely smooth. They took me as a walk-on client without an appointment, and they got my passport back to me quickly. They were very realistic about their turnaround time and did not try to upsell for express application. They can take a photo for your visa application for a very reasonable ~$10 fee. If you are staying with people in China, you may need to also submit copies of their resident permits. I would call Feti Travel ahead of time to ask what documents you should bring. read more

These folks are fantastic. Last time I went to NYC myself to Chinese consulate to get a visa. What a terrible experience that was. This time I went through Feti Travel and they were great. Turn around was 12 days so just plan for that. Expedited service is available however. They charge a reasonable fee and take all of the hassle out of getting a visa. The travel agency we normally book travel through gave us some kind of ridiculous 5-figure quote, so my boss said to call Feti instead. Everytime I need to travel to Asia, I use Feti Travel. My contact there is Irene and she is extremely helpful, very nice, and very professional. I get really good rates from her, and her service continues even after you complete your purchase. As an example, sometimes my return trip all of the good seats are taken and she can't get me a good seat at the time I am booking. However, for several times on my return flight when I called the airline by myself to re-confirm my seats, I realized she had remembered to check and change my seat to a window or aisle seat on her own. When I go abroad, my return trips are usually at least 3 weeks apart, so it's pretty impressive she remembers to do this. I believe most travel agents will probably tell you to go check and change your seating arrangement on your own. Irene at Feti is also very patient - a lot of times I ask for pricing for many different airlines and itineraries, and she gladly puts together all the quotes and emails me my options. I highly recommend giving her a call if you need to travel abroad (especially to asia). She was also able to give me a good fare to SF from Boston once (almost everywhere else was charging 1200 for a last minute RT, and she gave me 540). read more

I needed to get a rush visa for China and my choices were: 1. Go down to nyc on my own, hand it in, pay rush service, have a friend pick up for me next day, and overnight mail to me. 2. Pay $235 and have feti do it for me. I did the math and costs would have been the exact in both situations. The only difference between 1 and 2 would have been one less mailing since feti one day ships the passports down to nyc and from nyc to boston. I had my reservations, but the agent convinced me that since they've been doing this decades, they could get it done within my time frame. I'm glad I did. Handed in my passport/files on Monday before 6 pm; got my visa on Thursday. Excellent service, professional, and true to their word. I worked with Tiffany on two occasions when I had to get a visa to China in a crunch. The Chinese Visa process gets more and more complex by the year but Tiffany was very patient about responding to all my questions and concerns, she also gave me all the information on exactly what I need to complete the process without problems. There was a ton of paperwork to be done but I only had to make one trip to drop off the application since everything was completed properly and she had thoroughly checked them over before hand via E-mail. I went to Feti for a visa to go back to China and visit family. My mother had set up an appointment with them for me by calling from California and told me to head over at a specific time. Overall, they were very friendly and helpful. Although most of their staff I assume spoke only Mandarin or Cantonese, they had some English staff as well that helped me with the paperwork. Pricing is great, and they have a pretty fast turnaround time. Their location is a little difficult to find, it's on one of the floors of an office building near Chinatown but otherwise, I've had a great experience hiring Feti for their services! read more

Absolutely awful service. The manager, Lily, actually had the audacity to yell at me on the phone, and when I had enough and politely indicated that the "conversation" was going nowhere and that I was going to hang up, she decided to call me back and yell at me some more. So... here's the story: I wrote an email on Aug. 17 asking for a quote on a 2-year visa tourist visa; I never received a response. I had used this agency in the past with a decent experience, so I looked past the no-response and decided to walk in to their office a few days later. Turns out my previous agent (Shirley) had retired, so I was referred to Tiffany. Tiffany looked over my email, told me the price for the 2-year visa would be $180, but, since my trip was scheduled for Sept. 2, she recommended a "rush" service for $230. I agreed, and left my passport and application materials to her care. 3 days later, Aug 20, I receive an email from Tiffany saying that a 1-year visa would cost $230, but the 2-year would cost $270. I was surprised. I was specifically quoted $230 3 days ago, so I ask why there is a difference in price b/w the 1-year visa and the 2-year. Tiffany was unable to provide an answer, and just said "That's what our associates in NY say." So I call the NY Consulate. The price and process for the 1-year and 2-year visas are exactly the same. There are no extra fees and there is no extra work required for the 2-year visa. So why does Feti Travel charge $40 more for a 2-year visa? Beats me. I call other travel agencies, including some of the more popular or well-known ones on the web. They all tell me that their prices for the 1-year visa and the 2-year visa are exactly the same. By this time, I had already left my passport with Feti for 3 days and was already behind schedule as it was, so I didn't have much choice to change to a different agency at this point. I then get an email from Tiffany about my complaint, and she tells me to call her manager, Lily. I call Lily, and Lily basically just goes on a tirade, asking me, "how dare you compare my company with those other companies?! they don't know what they're doing, we have much better expertise, yadda yadda!" Literally yelling. I decide you can't reason with ignorance, and just get off the phone as quickly as possible. She was still unable to explain why Feti charges more for a 2-year visa, when both the 1-year and 2-year require the same exact amount of work and fees from the Consulate to apply. As a caveat though, my travel agent, Tiffany, was actually very nice. She was helpful in answering questions and patient in dealing with my fickle travel itinerary. All of this was fine. The unexplainable price discrepancy (against a previously quoted price from 3 days ago, in an already time-sensitive situation) and the attitude of the manager, Lily, guarantee that I will never use this service again. My father had been using them for years for plane tickets to Taiwan, probably spending over $10,000 with the company, and I guarantee they have also lost his business. By way of background, I have Chinese relatives and both parents were born in Taiwan, so it is actually very easy for me to get a 2-year visa (multiple travel agencies have told me this). I fit multiple criteria for the 2-year application. Feti was not required to do an ounce of extra work, over what would have been necessary to apply for a 1-year visa. read more

kevin t. saved me $300, or 7 hours of my life, with his recommendation of feti travel!! this is the first time i have ever used a travel agent, and i was skeptical, but i did my priceline.com, orbitz.com, kayak.com, aa.com, united.com, cathaypacific.com, etc internet research, and gave them a call for a quote. the itineraries i was considering online were in the $1400 range to singapore. there were flights available for $1100, but these flights were 33 hrs long vs. 26 hrs long, and i'm pretty picky about getting the shortest travel times as possible, especially considering i'm already spending more than a day of my life in transit (x2 roundtrip). irene quoted me $1150 for a 26 hr itinerary. i was still nervous, thinking, what if it is a scam? i went to check out their physical location- i wouldn't necessarily recommend doing this, it's a dinky little room chinatown-style, and they all looked at me very strangely when i walked in looking lost- but at least it looked legit. bonus: after i okayed the itinerary and gave her my credit card, i printed it out and realized i had okayed for the wrong day. i called back and she pushed it back a day. i was super nervous b/c you know how when you normally book something, it is impossible to change anything w/o a fee. she called united and said no problem. i guess this whole "travel agent" concept does work! i fly out march 18th, so if you don't hear back from me, assume all went well! i highly recommend giving them a call for a quote- it doesn't hurt and you never know. read more
