The Whistle is a great place for watching games or any sports. Maybe just get better food. You can find crap tons to get but it could be too complicated for the chaotic kitchen. Crowded when we got in. It's got a few big ass TVs so you can watch tons of games going on. There's a lot of areas for tables. Along the walls were the more personal ones for couples. There's also a long bar but there was no room there. It has a lot of specials including Teeling Small Batch whiskey shots at $5 on Mondays. There's a crap ton on the menu including tacos. A lot of things to choose from. It's about $11 for the Vegetable Tacos. A great choice among the vegetarian options. These are topped with avocado, cheese but I left it off, lettuce, onions, peppers, and pico de gallo, filling stuff. Great place for hanging and being crazy. It's got another location in Oak Lawn so have fun there too. The service is kind of slow but they're usually slamming so whatever.

I got to have 2 new IPAs that were both good. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. They have a few TVs located around the bar. It's located next to a Mariano's and several other businesses around the same shopping area, so parking is easy, and it's convenient if you're looking for a place to hang out after shopping or needing to kill time. If I'm back in the area again I'll definitely consider checking it out to see if they have any new beers, and maybe try the food.

However, my absolute favorite was the loaded nachos- probably- the best I've ever had. My pic won't do this justice, but I can honestly say that every ingredient was the equal- balanced amount. I found out the owner was a Vet and immediately I felt a kinship because Im one also. I had to negotiate for 30 minutes on the changing of the channel because each TV was on the World Cup (soccer) and Mexico was about the play (weather delay). Why such a hassle at a sports bar? What is one less TV showing the World Cup? What I wanted to see was a sport: Canadian football. Finally, it's turned on to my preference. I get my beer: Stella on tap. With a COLD beer the glass changes. Frost forms. Cold sweat develops on the glass. No action on my glass from here which is telling me this place is serving warm beer. Pretty poor. I checked out, trying to pay my bill. I had some beer left in the glass. After I paid my bill, she took my beer and I didn't even finish it! Who does that??? They have great scenery and that merits a star. (By the way England beat Mexico 3-2).
