Alcohol tasted watered down, the triple sec lacked any semblance of validity. If there was lime juice in it, I could not tell. I went to the bar to inspect the available alcohol selection. No gran marnier. Hmph. Just a pitiful excuse for a drink. I asked for a shot of patron silver as well as triple sec - charged $9!! Total bill: $64.00 for two entrees, a tea, and a poor excuse for a margarita. Bar tender told me: " we don't have no top shelf liquors here" I need no additional convincing. I went for lunch and it was quiet so I don't know how this place gets at dinner or on the weekends - it looks like a place that can get lively and boisterous. However, the food was surprisingly good - I haven't been to a Coaches in probably 10 years and I remember it being below average but this was very good bar-style food. Went today after not being there in ages because the road construction nearby has been a mess for a while. The f ood was great. Friendly service. Please keep in mind when we arrived it had just finished storming and the place was completely empty. When we went inside we were immediately greeted and seated. Our waitress was extremely kind and helped us navigate through the entire menu. Our food came out in less than 15 minutes and we even met the chef! I ordered a custom burger, my partner ordered the shrimp and chips with fries. Absolutely delicious and worth the visit. We will definitely be returning and you SHOULD TOO!!! The Hotdogs all the way were decent but the portion of fries that came with it was very sparse. We also ordered an open faced burger on a bed of lettuce, and what we received was a skimpy over cooked burger on one piece of wilted soggy lettuce accompanied by a stingy side of fries. Not sure if this would be my choice for takeout again, but who knows maybe their in-house service is better. read more

Came in today, was a terrible expirence. The atmosphere was dingy and uninviting, the tables were sticky, and the bathroom was beyond disgusting. The kitchen seemed to be in utter chaos, with orders getting mixed up and food taking over an hour to arrive. Once seated, it took another 20 minutes for our server to greet us. The restaurant wasn't even full, so the slow service was baffling. When our appetizers finally arrived, they were lukewarm at best. At this time, I had enough of this torture and asked for the check. To my surprise the previously deceptive waitresses came alive and rushed with the check as if their life depended on it. I won´t comment on the price because whoever pays to be taken for a fool deserves to be one. Never again will I lay eyes on this sorry excuse of a restaurant. Stopped at Coaches on the way home from Charlotte. Has outdoor seating area & was not busy at all on a Sunday afternoon. We sat at the bar, which smelled terribly of old stale beer. The service was friendly from one person and cold from the other. It took a bit to get greeted when we sat. The food was actually decent, but a bit over priced for the quality. I will say although service was friendly, it was one of the least attentive and slow experiences I have had in a long time. Some of what appeared to be regulars could be overheard telling racist jokes at the bar. Overall, I would not recommend and will not be returning. read more

Coach's is a somewhat local chain in the area that is your typcial sports bar, family restaurant with burgers, wings, fried food, etc. I have been to this Coach's a few times, both eating in the restaurant and getting take out. The good: the food is pretty good normally. Their wings are nice and crispy and the buffalo sauce is plenty spicy, and their burgers are big and loaded with toppings. The bad: The service.....it is bad enough it makes me wonder how they stay in business. If you are getting takeout, you can order, double the time given to pick up your order and still wait a while at the bar when you pick it up. When eating in the restaurant, I am not sure if they do not have enough staff, or just do not train them adequately. It is always a struggle just to have a full drink and to get the check without waiting forever. If you are looking for a bar to watch the game and grab some food, you could do worse, but if you are looking for service, there are better options in town. read more

It was midday. I was hungry. It was Lexington, NC. Of all the gin joints in all the towns in all the world, I had to pick the Lexington Parkway Plaza off of exit 91 (I-85). Options: Little Caesar's, Applebee's, Taco Bell, Burger King, Arby's, Chick-fil-A, Cracker Barrel, Sweet Frog. Sheesh! Are there no independent bistros anymore? I drove the length of the poorly maintained parking lot, and near the Belk end I found Coach's. Do ya suppose it's a sports bar? I decided to ignore the obvious, went in, and was greeted by a sign, paraphrasing, "Hostess Will Seat You." There was no hostess; I waited perhaps 10 seconds, then went in search of the ladies' room. Success. I returned to the front, was promptly seated at a small table, and perused the menu. I had to eat light, lest I fall asleep at the wheel. So I ordered the Hall of Fame BLT, $7.99, "The ultimate BLT! SIX slices of bacon with Duke's Mayo, lettuce, and tomato served on wheatberry bread." And a side of Fries. I went for the Fries first, and they were good. Judging from the pix here on Yelp, next time I'll try a side of Onion Rings. I asked the waitress for a steak knife and she promptly brought me one. On to the BLT. It was not huge, but ample-sized, with a generous component of Bacon. Quite good, but I believe the Wheatberry Bread component detracted from the natural goodness of the BLT sandwich. I ate half, and took half home. I ate the remainder this morning. So I got a good lunch and a good breakfast for $8.55 plus tip. As I do in so many cases, I got a craving for other dishes after I have eaten, either by reading others' reviews or by reading the online menus. Next visit, I won't be quite so hurried, so I intend to try the Philly Cheesesteak and Onion Rings. And possibly dessert. The four of us dined here by the recommendation of a Lexington local we were visiting. She said they do burgers great, so we all ordered different burgers. You get a choice of sides, including fries, homemade chips, baked beans, and onion rings, and all were $9.99. You could even order how you wanted your meat cooked, which isn't always the case, and it was fresh. Everyone ordered from their nice selection of draft beers. I ordered the Mushroom Swiss with onion rings, and it was delicious. It was juicy, loaded with sauteed mushrooms and melted Swiss, and the onion rings were battered made from scratch. Also pictured is the bacon burger, topped very high with plenty of bacon, red cabbage, onion, lettuce, and tomato with a side of baked beans. It smells like dirty mop water and when two waitresses showed each other dirty glasses, it made me wonder if that's an issue of dishwater that hasn't been changed out. Nice evening to sit in the patio area so this requested to sit outside. Only one table of a small group of ppl seated. The hostess told us the "waitress was not accepting any more ppl in outside". Ok we accepted this and another hostess escorted us to a table in the rear of the dining room near the kitchen with gaming machines etc..I politely. Requested another table near the front ( only one other group of ppl seated). Her response was no I can't do that it will mess up our rotation. What kind of management has this kind philosophy? Was visiting from California and my family decided to stop by Coach's. Although dining inside was an option ( they had tv everywhere playing various sports) opted to sit outside. There was no hostess at the front ( we arrived at 4pm on a Monday) the woman behind the bar addressed us and said we could seat ourselves anywhere we wanted outdoors. Service was really good as the waitress was very attentive to checking in on us often. She was friendly as well so that was nice. The food was good. My dad had the turkey burger ( which he said was moist and tasty ), my mom had the Cobb Salad ( which she said was good as well). My brother got the fish and chips basket, which he said was good as well. My daughter got the kids grilled cheese with fries basket ( although I'm not a fan of paying a restaurant for simple foods like grilled cheese sandwiches and quesadillas, my daughter had been asking for grilled cheese sandwiches for a few days and I figured 'why not, we are on vacay') and the grilled cheese was delicious! As were the fries, I'd definitely get an order of that again. My son got the kids corn dog nuggets and Mac and cheese and both were really good! He gobbled up the corn dog nuggets and everyone tried a bit of his Mac and cheese ( when he decided to start eating off my plate) and everyone said the Mac and cheese was delish! I got the Coach's Nachos and I must say that although everyone's plates were delicious, I was slightly underwhelmed by mine. Waah waah The nacho's are considered to be one of Coach's signature items ( including Coach's homemade chili on top) and although they do list everything they put on the nachos, I guess I was still surprised by the lack of ingredients. The nacho cheese was a typical creamy processed cheese sauce...good but nothing too special...the chili had a surprisingly sweetness to it that I didn't mind but wasn't expecting. The chips were thin and crispy and what I was hoping for in regards to nacho chips but didn't taste homemade. I think these nachos were good but for $10 they could've either had more ingredients or at least piled on the ones that were there ( these nachos were sparse in their amount) Overall, i could say the nachos were good but I wouldn't order them again unless they added what they put on it. Oh, and not to forget, I was in the mood for something on the snack side so in addition to the nachos I ordered a 5 piece bone in honey bbq wings. Terrible service. First, the hostess was wearing a very noticeable nose ring which was a turn-off before we were even seated. We waited a total of 40 minutes for our food when my wife and I were the only customers in the entire restaurant. Another party came in after us and were served within 10 minutes. After waiting 20 minutes I tried to find our server to ask how much longer it would be until we got our food but she was nowhere to be found. Twenty minutes later a different server brought us our food but with no apology or explanation for the delay. She never came by to check on us or replenish our beverages until we were about to leave. We have visited Coach's as a family twice, tonight being my first night in the restaurant, as my family brought me something home the first time. I had the Hawaiian Chicken with mashed potatoes and mixed veggies. It was grilled chicken in a teriyaki sauce with melted swiss cheese and a ring of pineapple. It was very tasty and flavorful. I would say the mixed veggies were a tad bland, but could be fixed with some salt and pepper. Their mashed potatoes were really good though. As of tonight, we got the Logan's loaded cheese fries as an appetizer. It was a big plate of bacon and cheese fries, which was plenty enough for four people to split. I would say it was definitely worth the $7 and some change. For my entree, I got the wing basket with 8 wings, half sweet red chili sauce and half garlic parmesan (per the waitress' suggestion). Both were very good. I preferred the sweet red chili sauce because it was more flavorful with that kick of spice. The wings were hot and crispy when they came out. I chose hot chips and ranch as a side. I also requested celery on the side. This place was clean and full on a Sunday night (to watch the Vikings and Saints game). The waitresses seemed to be fairly young but the service was good. It is a little pricey, but I would recommend overall. They do very well for it to be a new restaurant! read more

I had the Chicken Fajita Nachos and they were delicious. Large portion is great for sharing. My husband had the Boom Boom Burger and that was so tasty! Really good onion rings and fries too. Boy you sure can tell when the gal that runs this restaurant isn't there! The last two times we have been here and she wasn't here, the food that's arrived at our table has been pathetic. Mind you, I ordered GRILLED Salmon (keep that first word, Grilled, in your memory....it is pretty important I think) and when our food arrived at the table (delivered by kitchen staff), my salmon was fairly light on the outside with a couple grill marks on it.....then when I cut into it, it was raw inside! When another server finally came around, I requested to have it cooked....guess what I was asked. 'Do you want it cooked more or what?' Ummmm, yes?! I mean grilled salmon should be cooked, right? Or have I got it all wrong? After my husband had finished eating, my food finally arrived. Nah, we didn't want to eat together. I mean, why would we? Where to begin... first time going, food and service were horrendous (4 months ago). Being tired of Christos, we went back to Coaches last weekend to give it another shot.... what a mistake, ugh. My burger came out well done (ordered medium) and tasted beyond bland. Quite honestly one of the worst burgers I've ever bit into. Our chicken salad had cucumbers, which were mush and slimy (obviously not fresh), my beer mug had a chip on the rim which I noticed after taking my first sip, and upon that sitting next to an obnoxious girl who was drinking doubles with glassed over eyes attempting to sing should about sum up our night. read more
