Spiros is open for breakfast now! I drove by on the way to a morning meeting and said "there's a lot of cars over there early!" Then the light bulb quickly went off that they were serving breakfast. I've been a few times, and from what I understand their buffet has some standard daily staples and then some rotating daily specials. When I went on Thursday they had the standard salad bar, but also ribs and pork chops, meatloaf, broasted chicken, popcorn shrimp. For sides they had mashed sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, Mac and cheese, collard greens among other things. All in all, it was a good variety for the lunch spread, but the dessert bar was a bit lacking with jello, chocolate pudding and some kind of cherry cheesecake concoction. Service was friendly and quick to refill drinks. Interior is a bit dated and tired, about what I expected. The mashed potatoes are amazing and for those looking for lighter fair the salad bar is a good size also! And the desserts including a selection of banana pudding, cherry yum yum, and Oreo pudding that were all deliciou! Our server was very attentive and got us everything we needed and even went as far to cover our meal out of his own pocket just to be nice! They clearly hire quality individuals. They are pretty decent, they have really good fresh salad options and I love the buffet style lunch which I think is under $11.00 so really you can't beat that! Spiros was a BIG disappointment. I did the buffet and the salad bar, and I think everything on the buffet came out of a can or a freezer bag. Over salted, almost couldn't finish it. This NOT a dress up place -- everyone on the restaurant was wearing T shirts (some pretty offensive) and shorts. Staff were friendly but dressed exactly like the customers -- could hardly identify the staff, staff were friendly but much more focused on having conversations with each other than doing their work. I've gone to Spiro's many times. I've eaten the buffet many times and off the menu fewer times. They have excellent wait people who are professional, friendly, and attentive. The food is excellent. They keep the buffet stocked. It's always fresh, and the hot foods are hot. I highly recommend the grilled salmon, meatloaf, creamed tenderloins, pork chops, broasted chicken, beef tips in gravy, and more. Their salad bar is complete with lots of fresh vegetables, including sliced radishes, both green and black olives, kale salad, an olive-feta-vegetables salad, and the following salads: tuna, chicken, pimiento cheese, potato, carrot, pea, coleslaw, and more. Also ham, boiled eggs, cheese, cottage cheese. If you can't make whatever kind of salad you want, you're not trying very hard. Their deviled crabs and crab cakes on the weekend are delicious. Their salmon patties are very good but are available on the menu and not on the buffet. I love their cooked cabbage and eat a lot of that. Their greens, mashed potatoes, sweet-potato dish, and more are very good. The breakfast, lunch, and dinner buffets are all delicious. The main meats change but they have a beef rib day and a salmon day and both are delicious. The ribs are tended and flavorful and the salmon will leave you speechless. I forget her name (ugh!) but we happen to get our same waitress every time and she is the most positive upbeat waitress I know. I haven't lived in High Point for long but the first place my sister (who has lived here for many, many years) insisted I try was Spiros. I haven't had the buffet but I have ordered their Chef Salad TO-GO several times now and it's one of the biggest and tastiest salads I've ever had. Don't try and replicate this salad by going inside to make it yourself off the salad bar because you can't. Trust me- - I tried...unsuccessfully. After trying to make this salad myself, I realized half the items typically on my menu ordered salad is not available on the salad bar. You must try this salad. I am sad to make this review. I have always loved this place, but my last visit may be my last visit. Food quality was good and could not have had a better waitress. The issues came from the lack of hygiene at the buffet. People not wearing mask, gloves or sanitizing their hands (AFTER eating with them), etc. (Wish I had ordered from the menu). Came in at 7:10 to enjoy a meal with my family. I have not been here in a while and they have apparently took a nosedive. They just decided that they were going to close early after we sat down and half the buffet was already empty. Keep in mind they are suppose to close at 8:30 and we arrived at 7:10. So we were given half a buffet of which most of it was cold already. Then they still brought me the bill (5 minutes after we sat down) and still charged us the extortionate full price of $14 per person plus drinks. Skip this one. They are on their last legs. I gave Spiros 4 stars in my first review . The 2 stars is based solely on the pizza. First time we ate there the pizza was pretty good for a buffet item. The last few times there the pizza was burnt and not very appealing. Crust was very dry and hard. Also I don't know what has happened to the peach cobbler. The wife and I have been speaking about trying this place out for a couple of years. On the day we finally went, the original location burned down! So we waited another year! Finally this morning we broke down and just went. Inevitably it was a wait too long! The variety of breakfast items was great. The price was definitely reasonable!
