    Cheeseburger & Balsamic Brussels

Coal Town Public House is a good casual option if you're in the Westhaven area. It's a short walk from plenty of free parking. The restaurant offers indoor seating and outdoor seating. The menu offers a nice variety of options from sandwiches to salads to entrees. My Cheeseburger was decent, but I really loved the Balsamic Brussels. My husband liked his NY Dip and Crab Sliders. My daughter's meal from the kid's menu was a large portion and she enjoyed it. Their fries were tasty. My cocktail was refreshing. We enjoyed our meal here. I would love to return on a nice day and dine on the outdoor patio.

We visited this place on a Friday (3/27) to celebrate my birthday and I wish I hadn't. For starters, the hosts seemed too interested in gossiping then helping the guests. The blonde one actually seemed disgusted when I actually had to ask her a question. The drinks were good! My pecan crusted Salmon was mediocre at best. My friends SW bowl was bland but both entrees had a weird red sauce covering everything. Our server was clearlyyyyy wanting to get out of there so we felt hurried and didn't stay for more drinks. Maybe this place does better at lunch during the week without so many kids screaming?

Amazing! This is one of my favorite tucked away spots. We have had work functions here with set menus and team dinner for a more cozy experience. All the wait staff have been excellent and go above and beyond. Everything I have tried has not disappointed. I will go on record that the Focaccia Bread is the best I have ever had hands down. This last visit the salmon was excellent and the drink was chefs kiss! Enjoy!!

PARKING - This places' parking is not good unfortunately. Plan to walk a bit if you can find parking. There's no designated parking for carry out or for this restaurant. Maybe it's ideal if you live in Westhaven so you can just walk from your house. FOOD - OBSESSED. The focaccia and ricotta bread starter is to DIE FOR. It makes me salivate just thinking about it lol. HIGHLY RECOMMEND Pizzas, also EXCELLENT. They are probably my favorite pizza's in all of Franklin. We have never had a bad one. We also usually split the Cesar salad, it's also really tasty! DRINKS - The lemon drop was unreal with the sugar rim. I could have had many of those lol. You don't even realize it's alcohol. AMBIANCE - We sat outside during the summer on the covered patio which I liked (minus the flies) and we also sad in the covered side section which was okay. It honestly doesn't matter as long as the food and service is good! SERVICE - We had the same server both times we have come. The first time he was awful. The second time, improved but also still slow. WE WILL BE BACK! We love it here! And now I'm super hungry for the focaccia again. lol.

Return trips recently and I find it to be a very solid restaurant. Service is always top notch, food choices are great and the atmosphere/location is wonderful. What's not to like with this choice? Recently I had the Italian salad with added Grilled Chicken. It was outstanding! Plenty to make a full meal and the chicken was a great add on. Salmon Burger is also VERY good! Try it with the Brussels Sprouts which are delicious. Seriously, might be one of my new "go to" spots in town.

    Harvest Salad

Came here on a Thursday night. We had reservations but they weren't needed since over half the tables were open, but we were sat in the back corner next to a big fan and squeezed next to another full table. We wanted to admire the lovely view of the sunset outside the window, but were too disgusted by the dozens of dead flies on the windowsill that hovered over our table. Service was lovely, but food was disappointing, especially for the price. I was recommended the Harvest Salad and it was okay, but the charred broccoli I ordered as a side was absolutely awful. All of the food was underseasoned and underwhelming. The ambiance of the place (despite the flies) was nice and the menu has potential, but I won't be in a rush to return here.

Being a resident at Westhaven, we are happy to have this restaurant in neighborhood. We always take our out town guests to try this restaurant. They also have a nice Happy Hour. Food and drinks are great. Awesome pizza. Nice place. Service is fantastic. Hope our community continues to support this restaurant.

The ambiance is nice and the staff are very friendly/great. Pricing was as expected, pretty decent apart from how much the cost was for the sauces for the steaks ($4) is kind of silly for the small amount you get. The focaccia bread appetizer we got was delicious. A member of our group got the short rib mac and cheese and noted that the cheese sauce wasn't enough could barely tell there was cheese in his dish. The thin cut steak fries were different and we enjoyed trying those. Overall a good experience and we do plan to come back.

You can make reservations here. Very cool vibe as they can open up the areas to the outside when the weather is nice. Good selection of beer offered. We started with the duck fat fries. I highly recommend them. I got the smoked brisket sandwich, and it was great. It comes with an ajuis that definitely adds to the experience. Amanda did a great job taking care of us, and I will return.

Joined my parents for a lovely meal since they came in for the holidays, located in such a cute neighborhood! Our table had a view of the water and it was beautiful! We were HUGE fans of the Duck Fat Fries! The aioli on top was absolutely scrumptious! As for meals we ordered the holiday special of Prime Rib which was sadly not going to be ready for an hour or so, recommend if you're able to try their smoked in house meats! So we ended up getting a burger, farm house salad and carbonara with shrimp. The salad and the carbonara were not my cup of tea sadly. However, I did love our server. Next time I come I definitely will be willing to do the wait and/or try the salmon! We will be back!

5 stars!! The staff is incredible. Everybody is friendly and good at what they do. The vibe is fantastic. Right on the lake. Plenty of seating options. Booths, bar, high tops, and patio. The food is amazing. Try the pork chop. You won't be disappointed.

I stopped in before a show at the Franklin Theatre across the street (pro tip: if you're headed that way, this is the perfect spot to kick off your night!). I had no clue what to order, so I asked our server for help. She immediately recommended their famous espresso martini. I hesitated because I'm not a fan of olive martinis, but she promised this was completely different and handed me the flavor menu. I went with the Lamplight, caramel option--and BAM! Honestly, it might be the best drink I've ever had. New favorite, locked in! I'll definitely be ordering espresso martinis wherever I see them on the menu now, but if I want a guaranteed winner every time, I know exactly where I'm coming back to. Highly recommend!

We grabbed one of the small outdoor tables on a warm spring afternoon--perfectly shaded, great temperature, and honestly an ideal people-watching spot. I started with the Black Tie espresso martini. I had my eye on the Sunburnt, but since their espresso martinis typically include dairy (and I'm lactose intolerant), the bartender went above and beyond to accommodate me. They made a dairy-free version of the Black Tie and even added coconut--it was absolutely delicious. Jonathan went with the Summer Mule, which was everything you want in a mule with a tropical twist from the pineapple--light, crisp, and refreshing. But the second round is what completely sold us. Jonathan ordered the Double Oaked Old Fashioned--we were warned it was high proof and spirit-forward, which is exactly our style. It did not disappoint. I went with the Tea Time Old Fashioned, made with tea-infused whiskey, and it was everything I hoped for: reminiscent of a sweet tea bourbon, but more bourbon-forward and not overly sweet. Both drinks were dangerously good--we finished them way too quickly. They were unfortunately out of cheese for the charcuterie board, so we pivoted to the "Main Stream Mix" of nuts. Jonathan's official review: "underrated." Honestly, he's right--it was super flavorful and weirdly addictive for a nut mix. The staff were incredibly friendly, and there was even live music playing inside. It was the perfect volume--more of a background vibe than a full performance--so we could easily carry on a conversation without having to shout over it, which made the experience even better. Overall, such a great experience--we wouldn't hesitate to come back!

The warm, inviting vibe immediately drew me in. Since I was dining solo, I was able to grab a seat at the bar, which the hostess kindly pointed out was available. Considering the restaurant was packed and there was a long wait for tables, I was more than happy to skip the wait and settle right in. Behind the bar, the team was hustling, expertly balancing both coffee and cocktail orders while keeping things moving efficiently. I was greeted right away, handed a menu, and after a few minutes decided on an iced lavender latte and the lemon poppyseed waffle. My server offered a few side options, but I had a feeling the waffle would be more than enough. The lavender latte was fantastic, perfectly balanced with just the right amount of lavender syrup. It was flavorful without being overpowering and made for a refreshing start to the meal. Then came the waffle. The presentation alone was impressive; it looked more like a piece of art than a breakfast dish. Naturally, my phone had to eat first. But once I finally took that first bite, I understood what all the hype was about. The lemon flavor was subtle, bright, and refreshing, while the poppy seeds baked into the waffle added both texture and depth. Honestly, it was one of the best waffles I've ever had. Every bite was delicious, and it's a dish I'll be thinking about long after this visit. If you're looking for a standout breakfast in a lively atmosphere, Two Hands is absolutely worth the stop.

The Pond doesn't disappoint. It is exactly what one would expect when seeking a dive bar atmosphere. A little ratty, a little rowdy and a whole lot of fun. The coup de grace was they had Guinness on tap, which was completely unexpected. We traveled to Franklin looking for an alternative to Broadway in Nashville on our first night in town. It is worth the trip. Franklin is a very old town with great old architecture and buildings over 200 years old that still look stunning. The Pond was the real reason for my drive down although it was our last stop on our tour of Franklin. The staff was friendly, the Hamburger and fries was delicious, and the beer was cold.
