Stable Reserve is such a gem in downtown Franklin. We originally stopped in just for a quick drink and snack as a mid-day reset, but it ended up being one of the highlights of our day. We grabbed one of the small outdoor tables on a warm spring afternoon--perfectly shaded, great temperature, and honestly an ideal people-watching spot. I started with the Black Tie espresso martini. I had my eye on the Sunburnt, but since their espresso martinis typically include dairy (and I'm lactose intolerant), the bartender went above and beyond to accommodate me. They made a dairy-free version of the Black Tie and even added coconut--it was absolutely delicious. Jonathan went with the Summer Mule, which was everything you want in a mule with a tropical twist from the pineapple--light, crisp, and refreshing. But the second round is what completely sold us. Jonathan ordered the Double Oaked Old Fashioned--we were warned it was high proof and spirit-forward, which is exactly our style. It did not disappoint. I went with the Tea Time Old Fashioned, made with tea-infused whiskey, and it was everything I hoped for: reminiscent of a sweet tea bourbon, but more bourbon-forward and not overly sweet. Both drinks were dangerously good--we finished them way too quickly. They were unfortunately out of cheese for the charcuterie board, so we pivoted to the "Main Stream Mix" of nuts. Jonathan's official review: "underrated." Honestly, he's right--it was super flavorful and weirdly addictive for a nut mix. The staff were incredibly friendly, and there was even live music playing inside. It was the perfect volume--more of a background vibe than a full performance--so we could easily carry on a conversation without having to shout over it, which made the experience even better. This is such a fun hidden gem located in downtown Franklin! This distillery has some really great drinks, they seem to be known for their old fashioned but we went with their gin drinks and they were absolutely delicious. I actually appreciated that these weren't served with ice, much easier to sip on and enjoy. The flavors were immaculate & these actually paired together so well. The strawberry fields was sweet with a hint of bitterness that paired really well together. The A&N we actually mixed with bourbon and that lemon tang in it was exactly what it needed. I absolutely love the classic look and feel of this bar, I'll definitely be back; they offer live music & were playing the World Cup! We were exploring downtown Franklin and this was one of the bars on my list so we stopped it. It is modern with different seating options light couches, lounge chairs, and high tops. Really great modern rustic look. Everyone takes care of you so it's really easy to order and get any questions answered. everyone was great and really helpful when giving recommendations and telling by us about the distillery. I ordered the 105 Sour and absolutely loved it. It was fresh, bold with flavor, and better than any traditional whiskey sour because they don't just use sour mix. This is a great place to stop in and enjoy. I haven't tried their espresso martini, but I'll be back to try it soon! read more

My friend and I stopped in to extend our evening after dinner. We didn't realize they close at 9pm, but we were still able to enjoy two drinks before closing. She ordered and I tasted the Lunchbox based on the bartender's recommendation and really enjoyed it as it was strong, well-balanced, and flavorful. I chose the Back in the Saddle, which leaned a bit sweeter and creamier than my personal taste, but that's more a preference thing than a flaw. The vibe is relaxed and inviting overall. As closing time approached, things understandably felt a bit more hurried, but we still appreciated the atmosphere and the quality of the drinks. A nice spot for a casual nightcap, just plan to arrive a little earlier than closing. They were turning several groups away around 8:30+ on a Monday night, but it's Franklin, not Nashville - things wrap up early here. read more

Love this bar in the Franklin Square, where you can order coffee or cocktails. There are three ways to order here: the first is at the counter, which is excellent for to-go coffee and beverages. The next is at the bar, where you can also sit in their comfy chairs and chat with the friendly bar staff, or sit at a table or in the chairs and receive table service. Since they make coffee, their espresso martini was a must for me and did not disappoint. It is on the less-sweet side of the espresso martini wheelhouse, which I appreciate. They distill gin, vodka, and bourbon so you can have pretty much any cocktail you wish. One person in our group tasted four bourbons and enjoyed all of them, especially the double oak. My husband had a winter mule, while our friend had a winter solstice, and they both enjoyed their cocktails so much that they would order them again in a snap. We were visiting Franklin on a freezing, cold Sunday and wanted to warm up somewhere with a few cocktails. Stable Reserve was exactly what the doctor ordered! We got lucky and sat in the very back which was perfect for our party of four. It was cozy, warm, and so inviting. Our server was so great and helpful in explaining all of the drinks and spirits. I started with the Lunchbox which was delicious and spirit forward as an Old Fashion should be. My friend and I split The Original Espresso martini for our second drink that they kindly split into two glasses for us. We were recently in Franklin Tennessee and wanted to try some whiskey. Stable Reserve had some great reviews so we stepped in there. I had, frankly, never had whiskey except once years ago. The bartender was adorable. We asked for recommendations, and he brought out their very own I wheat bourbon whiskey. It was amazing! Unfortunately, after the fact, when I tried to order it online, it can only be bought from them at the distillery. Franklin is lovely and we really enjoyed sitting at their window watching life go by while we sipped on this extremely strong whiskey. Really good idea to buy food along with it! An incredibly swanky addition to Main Street! The Stable Reserve offers a dose of ambiance a notch above what I've experienced in Franklin. The layout allows room to breathe & enjoy conversation while sipping & snacking. I tried the "Tres Hombres" (SR take on a spicy margarita, made with jalepeno-infused vodka) & it hit all the right notes. A nice heat level, strong & citrusy - would 100% recommend & will be ordering again! As for snacking, the whipped ricotta is what dreams are made of... I want to slather it on everything. We popped in here mid week looking for a good late and it was ah-mazing! The bartender was super friendly and welcoming. We loved hearing the story and about the products. They make their own liqueur and then a latte with that and I would hands down plan another trip to Franklin just for that! Plus the place was clean, and offered plenty of seating - and a bathroom! We were visiting Nashville during Labor Day weekend and decided to venture out to downtown Franklin. We heard that it was a cute little city and we landed on stable reserve serendipitously! It has such a cool vibe, coffee shop/ bar that makes their own vodka, bourbon & gin! Not to mention a lot of cute merchandise - got a little sweatshirt that was affordable and comfy. As for the drinks, one of the employees told me they have the best espresso martinis and since I am an avid espresso martini judge/drinker - had to get it. It was delicious and a must get. Not overly sweet, you taste the vodka while balanced/creamy. Amazing! A must get if you're here. Their gin was also delicious. I went here on a weekday for a quick coffee and I was not disappointed! I ordered an iced white mocha with oat milk. I was greeted with a smile at the register and my drink was made quickly. When I order coffee with oat milk, the flavor can be hit or miss. But my coffee tasted excellent. Not too bitter and not too sweet. So my review is based on shopping and not the tasting room. Clearly, this place was a big hit because the amount of people waiting to do flights was crazy...in a good way. They had a bunch of bottles to choose from and different types of spirits as well. I went for the whiskey and vodka (not mixed). The prices were very reasonable and what you would expect when buying direct. The staff was super kind and answered all of the questions that I had. The taste of the whiskey is smooth. I've been to Stable Reserve four times now, I believe. It's one of the best spots for a cocktail in Franklin. The strength of Stable Reserve is its cocktails. They're refined and well crafted. You can tell these are recipes that were thought out and thoroughly tested. Amendment cocktail bar across the street has cocktails that are experimental and eccentric. The cocktails at Stable Reserve are polished. They're cocktails you'd drink with a book in your other hand. They're simple in a good way. They use just the right ingredients to extract the perfect version and delivery of a cocktail and spirit. Then, when you drink the cocktail you realize how complex it is. The service is normally excellent. The service is always friendly and no one was ever even close to rude or anything like that. The last time I just got the feeling that the service was calculated, which, to me, felt a little weird. We (just 2 us) got in around 805pm (they close at 9pm) and ordered our drinks and received them at probably like 815pm and they were great as usual. We pretty much finished them around 840pm. I could be wrong but, to me, it felt like the server dragged his feet in coming to our table again in fear that we would order a second round and we might then be finished past 9pm. From the delivery of that first round of drinks at around 815pm we didn't see or hear from the server again until he came to close our tab at around 855pm. A young couple had come in at around 835pm and the server told him they weren't taking any more orders. That's not a practice I agree with. I might just be old school but, to me, the listed hours of operation should be the hours that the business is willing to provide the service they are offering to a customer. It shouldn't just be the times that the front doors are physically unlocked. That was the only time that the experience at Stable Reserve was anything less than 100 percent perfect. It's still a place I definitely will continue going to and would still highly recommend to anyone. It has a 4.5+ star on Yelp for a reason and that rating is well deserved. read more

They specialize in vodka, gin, and bourbon. All 3 owners are native of Franklin, TN, and take great pride in their product. Their space is vast with plenty of seating, wifi, and an easy place to get some work done. They offer handmade truffles from The Coco Tree, another locally owned business that was brought out of retirement to work exclusively with Stable Reserve. Food wise, Stable Reserve offers a small menu including charcuterie, some southern offers such as pimento cheese sandwiches, and hummus. All food is also locally sourced from other Franklin businesses, Daddy Bob's and Hummus Chick. The staff genuinely seem happy here and pretty relaxed. The vibe goes well with the attitudes of the staff, making it just that more enjoyable to be here. It's worth a visit! All I can say is definitely check this place out!!! We did the Blending class and Brodie was AMAZING!!!! He educated us sooo much and was super helpful! My husband throughly enjoyed tasting and creating his own special Blend! We also found out that this place was the first distillery since prohibition. It's been around many years as it was a working stable in the 1900's. They also found printing ink when the bar was going through renovations and then realized that it was also the home of the local newspaper. But to be honest come here for the total experience with in house libations mixes and good vibes! Also a huge shout out to Beth who handled our reservation and was super on it when our plans changed slightly due to the weather- snowed here and our flight was a little delayed.
