Review for Coast Appliances - Langley Location I purchased a freezer from Coast Appliances on October 16, 2025, and was told delivery would take about two weeks. This worked perfectly for us as we had a side of beef arriving in early November. At the beginning of November, I followed up on the delivery date and was informed it had been delayed until the end of the month--but was assured it would arrive then. Because of this, I had to make arrangements to store the beef elsewhere until the freezer arrived. On November 28, I called again to confirm delivery timing and was told it had been delayed yet again--possibly up to another 90 days due to a manufacturing issue. I spoke with the manager, Steve, who simply told me it was "out of his control" and directed me to their fine-print policy. When I asked whether they could provide a temporary freezer or offer a comparable model to honour the sale, he refused. The next day, I went to the store to speak with him in person. Steve again refused to take any responsibility or offer any solution. When I requested a full refund, he said it would be processed the following Monday--and then abruptly told me that I "could leave now." The level of customer service at this location was extremely disappointing. I have purchased from Coast Appliances before, but I was shocked at the rudeness, lack of accountability, and complete unwillingness to help resolve a problem that stemmed from their own delays. We just purchased a dishwasher and microwave from Coast Appliance, and have had nothing but issues with their service. It started with the sales rep Ryan. We went is with a model in mind to purchase but, due to the availability of stock (most seemed to have a 2 month wait list, according to him) we switched and settled for Samsung appliances for each. We had asked for an estimated delivery date, so we could book the install (the install was not something that they arrange for you, so be warned) and he said that he could not give one and to check in a week. I called a week later, and was told by Ryan again that Samsung does not provide estimated delivery dates, which makes no sense when you have to book an install that is also sitting at weeks away for schedule. I advised that I am only looking for an ETA, and if there were delays, I understand as I also am in sales and understand supply chain issues. Ryan responded that he would not provide an ETA, and "maybe he should discuss this with my husband as I clearly didn't understand". The demeaning way he treated me was out of line. I hung up and called back to speak to someone else, and was provided with the ETA of delivery with no issue. I made an official complaint with the manager, Shannon, of the Surrey/Langley store and was assured that Ryan would be pulled off our file. I booked the install with the installation company. The next day, Ryan advised the install company to cancel my appointment, without authorization from me or my husband. When the day came to have the install, it was discovered that the entirely wrong dishwasher was ordered, and the one we were given had no stainless steel plate on the front. The dishwasher is a complete eyesore and looks awful. We are currently in the process of listing our home, and now have to put all of that on hold as the kitchen can not be photographed or shown with the dishwasher looking the way it does. The resolution from Coast appliance was to completely replace the dishwasher with the right one. This is now not only holding up us listing our home by a week, but is also causing me to take a minimum of 4 hours off work. I have called the regional manager Gabby, multiple times and have yet to receive a call back. The only compensation that has been offer to us is $100! How they feel that is adequate compensation, when it doesn't even cover the cost of my missed work, not to mention the delay in selling our house, is beyond me. Do not use this company to purchase your appliances. It is not worth it. The additional work you have to complete in the installation and general follow-up is not worth any amount you may save on the purchase price. Find a company who values their customers. read more

Bought a glass top stove. Talked into extra warranty coverage,initially over charged for warranty. Took 2 months to recieve credit. Less than a year into having stove, top cracked. Neither coast or manufacturer will honor warranty. Corporate theives. If there was lower rating than 1 star, that would be a more accurate rating. read more

We went to Coast Appliances in Coquitlam, as we were unwrapping the pastic from the fridge we noticed a huge dent in the side, we initially contacted them about this because I could have purchased a fridge with a dent for half price at the Trail Clearance Centre and they advised us that it was not their problem, did not even try to negotiate or bring a new fridge. We also ordered appliances for our basement suite and I guess they are supposed to provide stickers for the holes on the door depending which side you want your handle on. Luckily the people at Home Hard Ware were kind enough to provide them to us for free. I'm not sure how they could not say the damage was from their delivery truck when I clearly saw the delivery driver take photo's of the products when they were dropped off. we went into the Langley store about 8 years ago to purchase a fridge, stove, dishwasher and microwave. we walked around store and were ignored by the staff in the store. we went to Trail Appliance and made our purchase. Samsung stove has to be replaced so April 21 we gave Coast another chance and went to Langley store with intention of purchasing a Whirlpool Stove for approximately $1500. we were shocked to once again be ignored. there was a guy who took 2 minutes to leave his desk and talk to another couple. it was late morning and we went to Trail in Cloverdale and bought the Whirlpool stove. negative service, will never set foot in coast appliance again. read more

We ordered our dishwasher on Dec 26,2022. We were told at the time that the lead time was 2-3 weeks. Jan 11,3023 we went in to see if it was ready and we were told that due to shortages and manufacturing issues, it would now come in Feb 22,2023. I understand manufacturers issues, but Coast doesn't even know the lead times. Or, they over promise and under deliver on purpose just to get the sale. Called them Thursday and our dishwasher is at another location. It's not even at the location we ordered from. But we can go get it from Annacis island if we'd like it sooner. No one has even offered to deliver it or install it or anything. I get it; we bought one that's only $600, not super expensive, but it's still $600 and we've waited over 8 weeks for it now. Purchased a median priced dishwasher that lasted just over a year. We also purchased the warranty. However, the company that handles the warranties is terrible to work with. I can get past the aggressiveness, he wanted the sale because that's his job but there was no excuse for his arrogance & rudeness. I have shopped there numerous times and have never come across someone so desperate. He was determined that I wouldn't find a lower price from his competitor and wouldn't break down the price for me on the 2 items I wanted. If you were that confident your price couldn't be beaten then what's the problem ?? Your ugly colours shone through when you found out I wouldn't be purchasing from you right away. I purchased a Samsung fridge from the Surrey/Langley Coast appliance store last November. The salesman was good and it was fast service delivery within a few days. However the bottom freezer section was dinged. This was pointed out by the delivery man. Options are to return the fridge or have the bottom drawer replaced after the fact. I chose to keep the fridge and replace the drawer as I had no working fridge. I emailed and made calls. I was told to send pictures of the box. It was a delivery so I had no box. I sent pictures of the fridge and serial number. I emailed the salesman whom I never heard back from. I have had 2 email replies from the admin assistant. It is now almost a year later. I have never heard anything from them again. I still haven't completely unwrapped the fridge as I expected it to go back and I was disheartened by a damaged fridge that cost me close to $2500. Since this my bother has purchased 2 appliances and I have purchased another appliance. We did not use Coast Appliances. Not at all impressed with their follow through or customer service. read more

Went in to look at fridges for my workplace. The sales person was so helpful. They did not have any floor models but showed me what they could get on the computer. They were very helpful in what they could provide. No pushy pitches just all around great customer service. My husband and I have personally shopped at Coast Wholesale Appliances for years. The staff doesn't know it but our business has been purchasing multiple appliances from them for years as well due to our recommendation to our partners. We always do business with establishments who don't know who we are professionally but treat us well as individuals. Good, kind service to us means everything, above price and selection. If they treat us well without knowing who we are it means they treat everyone well which means they are an asset to a community and we will always try to support them. Recently we did another renovation but only had to order a couple of new appliances, one of them was a Blomberg refrigerator which was delivered last summer. Within a month of install the handle for the freezer fell off our new hardwood floor. This happened three times before a service man arrived even though we called and stopped by several times asking for help with the situation. After promising to replace the door we never saw or heard from this man again. Even though he fixed it temporarily while we waited for a replacement it fell on the floor again. We called and called Coast Wholesale to help us with this, finally let them know we would have our lawyer write a letter and finally another fellow arrived in December who again promised a new door and has now disappeared as well. It has been over six months! I have called the repair company left a message; no return call, no answer. I think we are done here. We are not returning to Coast Wholesale Appliances and our business is pulling out as well. By the way, do not buy a Blomberg refrigerator, the handles are stuck on with suction cups not screwed in place and the service is nonexistent. Not worth the price. R. McJannet read more

I needed a replacement washer asap. When I phoned and spoke to a salesman he told me the model I wanted (I had done my research) was available and could be delivered within one day, if I placed my order before 10 am. I got out of bed early and was there at store opening, 8:30, and placed my order with the salesman. After processing my credit card for well over $1k, he said, "oh, sorry, it's not available, I'll see what I can do". He said he'd try to get it made right, but I didn't hear from him in a reasonable time and called back to find out from him that he had failed and was giving up, unless I wanted their less desirable alternative; no thank you! He said the receptionist would call me to process the refund, but not having received the promised call hours later, I had to phone again to get that done. Their complete lack of service cost me a lot of time and $$gas money. I ordered the same unit elsewhere, with much better service. I will never go out of my way to shop at Coast Appliance again. read more

Horrible experience. The sales lied to every questions i asked during the whole purchasing process. Product was defective. Within 2 weeks, went back to coast appliance for a return but they wanted to charge a 30% restock fees for return or deduct ~5% on the restock fees for an exchange of different brand. This is a brand new bought & 2 weeks old product. Should not happen require restock fees. period. Then they suggested to send a technician out first to see the problem, while the sales said, "return policy has no specific time frame." Technician came and oven is not fixed and said, it is the "characteristic" of the product. -The characteristic was oven takes 10min to heat up 25 degree after preheat. Another 1 week later after the technician. Went back to coast appliance to ask for refund because the product is unusable. Sales manager told me "the sales date is too long" & warranty is under my name. Thus, they cant refund the product even with restock fees. They stalled/delayed my purchase date/duration, so they can make excuse saying I cant refund it. All these things were not told when they scheduled my technicians. Shady practices. Coast appliances can send you a defective product anytime then not claim any responsibilities. read more

I shopped at 3 stores....2 were competitors.....I found the sales lady who serviced my wife and I to be very patient and no pressure and had tremendous product knowledge....She noticed me with my consumer reports guide and she took great ernest in pointing out some of the various products that she could not recommend that they sold and that was verified in Consumers report....This is a local Canadian private company....they use local service companies like Totem appliances who have been in this market for 20 years......I cant say that the Fridge I want or the dishwasher I want will not have problems but I do think these folks are pretty laid back and certainly professional read more

I took my elderly mother to shop for appliances at Coast Appliances in Surrey. Lyon was very energetic although selective in his hearing my mothers wants or concerns. She ended up putting a deposit down and then changed her mind - she was just not happy. I phoned and was told he was not in and that I nobody could help me but Lyon. I contacted him personally the next day to let him know my mother wanted to cancel the order and Lyon told me I had to personally come to the store to get the $1000 deposit back. Wrong. I knew he was not telling me the truth but did not trust him to process this refund. I showed up and was greeted by the lovely Kathy at the desk who was smiling and willing to help me right away. She confirmed it was a simple paperwork matter and that Lyon had indeed not prepared it and forwarded it to her. He sat at his desk in plain sight, not with any clients and it took him 10 minutes to get the information to Kathy. The difference in a customer being happy, recommending your service and perhaps returning is in the relationship a salesperson builds and the respect they show towards the person putting money in their pocket.
