After finally getting "new construction" windows installed, we decided to go with larger 4 1/2" shutters. We were so nervous because not many people get that size, but we decided to go for it and boy do we love them! Everyone that comes over says our home has a "beachy vibe" with the large shutters. They look so nice with our painless windows! We only had one issue with the 2018 shutters in the bathroom rusting. ISD said to order the waterproof replacement would run us $650 for a small window but that seems a bit too much. ISD brought a new rustless magnet and made it look a lot better. Overall we are very happy with the way the new large shutters turned out, and happy with how the older 3 1/2" held up in the bedroom.

That was a mistake. Prior to placing the order, the installation was delayed from the initial 4-week estimate to mid-October. I proceeded, despite the new 2+ month wait. At the October installation, the installers discovered one drape was nearly a foot too narrow. Their own measurer had entered the wrong value. Given we were already two months into this project, I requested an expedited resolution. I was informed the earliest replacement would take place in December due to "seasonal volume." I would expect any company to prioritize correcting its own errors, especially on a purchase exceeding $7,000. To make matters worse, we then noticed another one of the drapes contains a poor-quality, badly sewn seam. To date, all I have to show for my investment is three wrinkled panels--one of which is the wrong size and another containing poor workmanship. The only positive experience was our salesperson, Jackie. She was great to work with and has tried her best to assist us but she was unable to overcome The Shade Store's corporate wall. Save your money and go elsewhere. The premium price does not get you premium quality or service.

But I did use Stanley Shade just yesterday for some repair work on my Hunter Douglas shades - they were installed by the previous owner. And although I'm pretty handy and a big Youtube person, I couldn't quite program my shades correctly. Ryan had Martin come over and he was on time. Well, in just a few minutes Martin got the task done in a matter of minutes. He also gave me more insight on the blackout shades I'm dreaming about for my bedroom.
