Don't waste your hard earned money. I brought my MotorHome for minor water repair the 3rd time around for the same issue. When I questioned why a minor water issue cost me $2000 and that I was not consulted for approval of repair estimate prior to doing the repair work, Carolyn, the owner, was rude, confrontational and argumentative. As I was browsing around the store, I was engaged by the both the staff and the owner when my inquiries had more complexity, who were super helpful and happy to recommend everything that I needed in terms of information and resources. I've been doing business with Coast RV for years and always appreciated their husband and wife team and personality even though they don't have many items I ask for. My last visit to Coast RV will be the last. I don't like leaving negative reviews as sometimes people just have a bad day. But, after reading other reviews on here, I am not alone. I came in and was asking about a part when I was abruptly interrupted and chastised before even being able to give details. The extreme aggressive and condescending tone by the "wife" caused me to put my hands up in the air and walk out. Carolyn and Larry were incredibly helpful and friendly, and the results amazing! A Semi backed into the front of our RV (slowly), but it had some pretty challenging issues. Carolyn began a direct conversation with our insurance carrier and got all the coverage we needed and could have hoped for! And once the work was done, the RV looked great, and operated well. While we had it in for the main damage, they also did a few paint updates, and even though I hadn't asked for a few things, like latches, etc., she couldn't help herself from just getting it done so that the whole thing looked right! (of course, that was a gracious on-the-house finishing touch). It just capped a great experience. And just can't say enough about how pleasant and friendly Carolyn and Larry are, and their whole team. Just fine people! read more

This business is irresponsible and I think Carolyn has been dishonest with me on more than one occasion. My rig was brought in for a repair after I just replaced both coach batteries at a cost of around $800. Coast RV left the coach batteries on for weeks on end when all it would have taken is one second to flip the switch off to save the batteries while it sat for weeks waiting for a part. Both batteries were destroyed on account of Coast RV's failure simply to store the rig properly (with coach batteries turned off). When I told Carolyn about it immediately upon picking up the rig and seeing that the batteries were dead, she (falsely) claimed that the batteries are made to go totally dead and that they would re-charge - she said to keep it plugged in. That was total nonsense, another mechanic told me; leaving the batteries on for weeks on end destroys them, and this is what Coast RV did to my new batteries. I sent a letter to Carolyn after I replaced the batteries again at a cost of about $900. She ignored the letter. I also wonder if Carolyn overcharges people based on some odd behavior I saw in her - she seemed very uneasy in discussing a bill, like she was nervous (like a guilty person). Coast RV seems to have financial issues, based on Carolyn's behavior in failing even to acknowledge my battery damage due to Coast RV's sloppiness, negligence, and lack of common sense. For goodness sakes, if an RV shop does not know how simply to preserve batteries (and they knew they were brand new) by turning off the coach batteries while the rig sat waiting for a part, what else are they doing wrong that we cannot see? read more

I was looking into buying a tow package including breaking system to tow my jeep and visited coast RV twice before I end up buying online (thinking I was saving money) I took the parts to a mechanic friend that said that he can do the installation and and up doing half of the work. after looking around for other places (because I was embarrassed to go back and asked Coast to do the installation) I realized I made a mistake and didn't save any money at all, I did go back and I'm so happy I did. I hate doing negative reviews. Maybe this lady mistook me for a previous problem customer, or had one too many margaritas for lunch, who knows... I never even made it into the business, yet seeing as I find most of my services here on Yelp, I felt compelled to share about my phone call to this business today. Background: I have a 2016 Toyhauler that we bought used about a year ago. Turns out that it had an undetectable leak where the roof meets the nose panel. That caused a lot of damage/rot in the front end before it surfaced. It clearly had been leaking before we bought it. What are ya gonna do? Just one of those things... When I called: When calling Coast RV I was transferred to Carol after asking about getting an estimate. When she answered my call she sounded oddly friendly like she knew who I was, as in maybe thinking I was someone else... Who knows. So when I told her that my trailer had a leak that had caused quite a bit of damage, she started talking to me as if I were a 1st grader, including the tone one might use talking to a two year old. "Well have you have the caulking replaced? You know you need to replace the caulking every two years..." I'm thinking, thanks Sherlock, and told her that the barn doors have been open, and the cows are long gone. I'm looking at about $7K in repairs and you're here to tell me what a dummy you think I am? Conveniently, my cell phone dropped the call. Won't be calling that place back. read more

Brought my tent trailer in that we got used and they helped re-pack the bearings, fix the wire that charges the battery, and install the break control box in my car. They did great work, helped me know what needed to be fixed, and didn't try to sell me anything I didn't need. Highly recommend bringing your trailer or RV here for any work or repairs. My husband and I brought our motorhome to Larry on the recommendation of our local repair shop because they were booked and couldn't do the repairs for over 3 months. I cannot tell you how blessed we are for this referral. Larry and his wife are fair, honest, kind and giving and they provide superb service while doing quality work. They replaced our roof as it was leaking in several places and was a general mess. Their workmanship had been tested these past few months with the torrential rains. We've taken a trip through the desert under extremely windy conditions and ended up in the mountains with both snow and rain. I'm ecstatic that there is not one single leak anywhere in the ceiling. Today was my fourth visit to Coast RV since we got our new Lance truck camper. Buying a used or new truck camper for the first time, I have lots of questions to ask. Sure, there are online forums you can check out (and I do) but there's nothing like speaking to a friendly someone that can pass along their experience and knowledge. This is that kind of place. I haven't bought a whole heckuva lot there yet, but I always drop a few bucks on something that I need (or want). They do service, repairs, and some installations and seem to have pretty reasonable prices from what I've researched. Don't know how good their work is yet, but I do plan on bringing my camper in soon so they can take a look at something for me. Quaint little store with a smaller variety of RV items, electrical, plumbing, vents, and all the usual plus some housewares. It's not a Camping World, but it does seem to have some of the more obscure items that you won't find at the big chain. Most of all, the wife and husband team make a good duo and are very friendly. I'll be in again shortly! The entrance to this place is just a few feet west of the entrance to the RV "Sales" place (I think they are related?) and it's easy to miss. The parking lot is small and there's always a lot of RVs in the shop or being washed, so don't drive your fifth wheel down there, unless you know what you're doing! read more

We recently had the folks at Coast RV perform a few services on a trailer we received from a relative. The trailer had been sitting for many years and while we knew it needed some minor work, our focus was safety for an upcoming trip. The Coast RV folks are great. They performed the work we needed within the promised time period, helped acquaint us newbies with an important hitch function and advised on some future upgrades to improve performance with our tow vehicle. I will not use this company again and they were our go to for RV stuff. My husband went in to order a part and whoever the woman is in the front said, "why don't you just order it yourself?" Hello!!! Because they don't sell to the public. This went on a couple times until my husband gave up and we ordered through someone else. Then over a month or so later she calls and says your part is in. What??? We never confirmed an order as SHE WASN'T HELPFUL!!! Acted like she couldn't get it!!!Well being the nice guy my husband is he paid for and took the part we will probably never need! Over $200. They could of at least discounted it. Coast RV, in this time when money is tight you are despicable! Thanks for taking away from my kids Christmas! I can only hope someone takes my advice. Finally getting around to leaving a review for Coast RV and specifically Mark the service manager. I purchased a Fleetwood Popup earlier this year and am new to RV'ing. I figured I should bring it in for service as its about 10 year old and I dont know the service history. I had the bearings serviced and had Mark check the electrical system. As expected, the bearings were shot yet Mark gave me a great deal to replace them. He also spend time debugging the electrical system and suggested repairs that may need to be done but also offered some work arounds to save me money. Best of all Mark spend at much time as I need helping me get oriented to my new popup answering any and all questions I had. He cut me a great deal on the repairs and offered plenty of free advice. I had my 5th wheel in for service several times and now they take care of our Newmar Ventana 3709. They do great work and stand behind every bit of it. They do everything from general maintenance to roof repair, electrical modification, audio visual work, and plumbing. They treat my coach as if it were their's. I brought my 2012 Fleetwood Southwind to Coast RV for the first time since I have owned my coach (2 years) when I first purchased the coach I did bring it to another RV dealer/service center and I didn't have the greatest experience and they weren't friendly and talked down to me like I should know about the whole coach and how everything is done. Needless to say I didn't go back and as I use my coach quite a bit a few odds n ends items needed to be repaired. I put it off until I had no choice but to bring it in due to my starter failed. I purchased a 3rd party warranty when I purchased the coach so I called ahead to Coast RV to see if they accepted prior to making an appointment (almost 2 month out) and well worth the wait. They didn't hesitate at all or make it seem to be "inconvenient" at all. Replied with "Bring it in, we will take care of you!" I dropped off the coach with a laundry list of items that needed attention, including the starter. Mark the service manager called me everyday with a update and explained everything as he went down my list of "to do items" Long story short I picked up my coach today and I am VERY SATISFIED with my service with Coast RV. Larry the owner is the original owner and helped my dad many years ago. I can see why my dad went there to get work done now. Very professional and trusting. Thank you Larry and Mark! read more

I now have a new rig and under warranty at a dealer yet I was in a bind and they took care of something once again that they didn't have to. Lots of times places charge for some issue that didn't exist in the first place. Not these guys! They are honest, friendly, fast, thorough and they treat you with respect. Heck, the owner himself walked me through my RV and took the time to show me another RV that had a roof issue. As it turned out, my issue was no big deal (I was a little paranoid about the problem) and Coast RV assured me that it wasn't a big problem at all. I was so darn happy that I didn't have to have major roof work done. They did a great job and now they have a customer for life. Larry (the owner) is super down to earth as are his many friendly and knowledgeable employees like Mark. That said, they are super busy with customers all the time so call ahead and be aware that you may have to wait several weeks to get an appointment. They are that good and worth the wait!
