Jim is a treasure in this business and has worked on my RV's and autos for at least the last 15-20 years. He's like a 'whisperer' of all things mechanical/electrical. He always amazes me with his understanding of how things work behind the scenes...and he's been doing this for so long that he also knows what doesn't. Priceless. He's not the up-front cheapest guy on the block - but I don't want that. When I factor in that the job done right and efficiently...I'm ahead of the game. Our rv AC went out and all the rv repair guys where booking two weeks out. Well Jim called us back and came to diagnose the issue that same day! A friend suggested calling Jim to help with a variety of issues with a used RV I purchased recently. He called me back, agreed on a suitable time, and arrived promptly. I found him to be very personable and he certainly knows his stuff. He was able to sort out about half a dozen minor issues right off the bat and talked about what I might need or want to do down the line. I am not sure why this guy does't have more reviews. This may prove that most people come on Yelp to complain. Too bad. Jim calls you back multiple times, he's flexible, and he even spent a lot of time on the phone with me trying to fix and diagnose the issue for free to be sure it wasn't something simple I could fix before even coming to me. Who even does that nowadays? While I did not end up using him because the place I bought my RV from said they would fix it for free out of warranty, I WILL be calling Jim again if I need him to do something on my RV. This is likely as it is an RV and it will brake. :) Like another reviewer said, he was also reccomended by Coast RV as they were too busy and couldn't handle my last minute RV issue days before a trip. Jim also takes extended warranty agreements as payment and is licensed in the state of California as is frequently required by extended warranty contracts for RV's. I know because I had to ask and then call my warranty company back etc... You know how sometimes you call someone for a repair and you just know it won't go well from the phone conversation? I didn't feel that way about Jim. He was honest, tried to fix my problem for free over the phone for me, and spent time with me without compensation. Thanks Jim! read more

I found Jim on Yelp and decided to give him a call. I have a Class A Diesel Pusher, where my airbags would not inflate. After troubleshooting on YouTube, I came to the end of my abilities. I scheduled an appointment w/Jim and stressed the importance, due to our upcoming cross country vacation. Jim arrived on-time and dug in right away. He was able to locate the problem (a bad solenoid) and was able to manually inflate the bags. He also helped me with some battery issues. He was polite, informative and was honest. Listen, if you want great work, on time and a fair price, Call Jim. The electric jack system on our coach failed while up on the jacks! Would not retract. After reading the systems documentation (which was wrong BTW) I spoke with a friend at Coast RV in Agoura Hills who referred me to Jim, who came right over. He was familiar with the leveling system, even enough to safely get the truck down off the jacks without using the console controls directly. He located the trouble in one of the jacks and repaired it quickly. As we all know, RV's fail now and again, I am sure we will call Jim in the future. read more

I see that more than a few people have said that this guy hasn't returned their calls. He hasn't returned mine yet either. Im kind of stuck here and need to find someone quick. Am I wasting my time trying to reach this guy? Anyone? Evidently, people posted those things about this guy because they're true. Jim finally did call me back and came out to look at my rig. He wasted no time getting the OK from my warranty company and told me he would order the part and get back to me on Wednesday 11/16/16. Today is Wednesday 11/23/16 and I still haven't heard back from him. Whether there was a hold up in getting the part, or he forgot to order it, is still no excuse for this level of unprofessionalism, especially when you're leaving someone stranded. Not that big of a loss. I got the go ahead from my warranty co. to find someone else. I've done business with Art's Mobile RV Repair in Arroyo Grande. They're van is spotlessly clean, and so is John, the proprietor. It's a bit of a drive, but I'm heading that way anyways and I know the work will be done by someone that is competent. In fact the biggest downside is having to camp on the beach for a couple of days while the part is shipped (expedited 2nd day. No extra $) So long buddy. When you do business like that, It's lucky to be the only mobile RV repair in the area. UPDATE: Although I waited nearly 3 weeks for Jim to get back to me, he never did until I contacted the warranty company to cancel the claim. Then he couldn't call me enough. He even told warranty company he had already done the work, which was a lie and attempted insurance fraud. Once he realized his irresponsibility had cost in the job and the price of returning the part, he actually threatened to sue me. We've used Jim a lot in the past. He does great engine work and he did an okay job on some upholstery damage we had him replace, but I didn't notice the parts I didn't like until after we signed off on the job. I'm sure if I would have pointed it out at the time, he would have made it right. One thing I didn't like was he was cash or check only and we had some pretty expensive stuff done that we would have liked to put on a card. We just suffered a six month long horrible experience with a repair shop and the repairs weren't finished. I'm calling Jim! read more

We were referred to Jim by Coast RV (he also does mobile RV repairs) He was great! Came out and did an inspection of our RV for a cross-country trip we have coming up - looked at everything and was very honest with us and didn't try to sell us on repairs that we didn't really need. He told us what we absolutely should fix and the preventative items that were optional. Very reasonably priced for the initial inspection. Told us what we needed and didn't pressure us to schedule the repairs right then. He also referred us to Tires Buy Mark for new tires. He's availability is great too - very flexible and willing to work with you. Came by to do the repairs and jumped right in. He definitely knows his stuff and I trust his work 100%. He was even kind enough to check all of our fluid (and show me how to do it also). AND, he made himself available to us if we had any questions during the trip. You should definitely call Jim if you need anything done! He's SUPER friendly and will get the job done right without trying to take advantage of you. read more
