There was some excessive damage to my lawn in the process and credit to Jerry for offering to make it right and following through. After following all care instructions provided, which were very few and required my own research, my family and I left town for about 6 weeks leaving the patio to continue curing to its final state. Upon our return not even 3 months later we returned to a patio with cracks throughout it. Pacific Coast Concrete has taken zero responsibility for this, calling it a natural outcome of the shrinkage of the slab but I have this new one next to a 20 year old slab that has exactly zero cracks in it. From what I have read and been told by other concrete professionals, shrinkage cracking can be normal, but is usually caused by inferior materials or preparation of the concrete itself (too wet, etc.). It is a shame that Pacific Coast Concrete will take zero responsibility over the condition of the slab they poured just 3 months ago. Now I have spent thousands of dollars on something that is already falling apart.

Lots to say stuff to say here, for some background I've been in construction for 17 years doing…read morecommercial electrical and seen a lot of construction. I got 6 quotes for my back patio and after talking to Adan and hearing his story about getting his life together and finding God I thought maybe this was the right guy. He wasn't the cheapest guy but he did offer some things that others weren't so we went with him. He delayed the start of the work twice because of rain (which only matters for the concrete pour) then on his first day here he calls me and tells me it's going to be $700 more than what we talked about and I told him no. He drove away and I sent him his quote he gave me saying clear as day that what I said what the truth which made him apologize and go back, from that point I had lots of doubts. His first day he worked for 4 hours cutting up some grass and doing half the forms, the next day I told him I'd be home early to go over stuff and he again worked just 4 hours pouring gravel packing it down and finishing forms. When I got home at 1230pm I told him I had concerns about the stairs as he only put one step up to our back door which left a 9" drop off from the door threshold (dangerous for anyone walking out the door and looked horrible) he never returned to address it till the day of the pour but before that he wanted me to cut wood trim and siding around the back of my house with nothing laid out and just gave me a rough idea over the phone. I also had to install flashing for the cement on the underside of my door (something he probably should have done) mind you he is only 35 mins away. As for the day of the pour they kicked butt that's the truth but I will say this I was told I'd get color in my stairs and they didn't do it they also said they'd do a center line to our patio with stamp and color and they didn't do that and when it came time for the bill they did not honor the price we agreed to because of more "taxes" than we had taIked about I understand taxes but when you tell someone a price and then decide oh that doesnt count for tax it's a big surprise. I think overall the work was good but the communication and customer service was some of the worst I've ever seen and to me that matters. I would not recommend using them unless you get a very detailed quote form with a solid final price and don't be surprised if you do some of the work yourself. It's a shame cause I had high hopes for this experience based on stuff I had read but that's probably because he asks you multiple times to leave a good review on his website. Hope that helps somebody wish I had seen this review before I called them.
