twice in a row Coastal cab has been a no show - once for a 3am ride to the airport and then this morning at 11am for an airport ride. The 1st time it wasn't until I texted him a couple of times later in the day that he got back to me explaining that he fell asleep and his cell phone wasn't charged. Today's ride was a free ride - one he offered after the first incident that he promised to honor. By 11 I called him. asking where he was... at Shaws waiting for a customer that he'd have to drive home. Note the absence of courtesy phone call-how would I have known that? He thought but wasn't sure if he'd pick me up by 11:15. I decided I couldn't trust him. Both times resulted in me having to drive in and impose on friends to pick up my car later. If you truly need to get to where you need to go call someone else. I'm done and will take my business elsewhere read more

I went in to the Coastal Cab Company in person to make a reservation for this morning to pick me up at 5:45 am for 7 o'clock flight out of Crescent City Airport. By 5:46 am no cab showed up. When I called the 24 hour number, after awhile, a sleepy man answered a phone and said that no one told him anything. He didn't apologize, nor did he really act surprised. I described a man who took down my information yesterday and described the place to make sure that I was talking about the same cab company. The man on the telephone said that I was describing the same cab company. He also told me that the guy took down my information would be about anyone who works there as if he could careless about who the guy was who forgot to make our reservation when I went in person to the cab company. read more

I'm glad this cab service was available when I needed it. Attending a wedding near the beach in Crescent City where parking was scarce, my AirBnB was a little too far away from the venue for me to walk comfortably. I called ahead to reserve a cab, explaining that I knew it was a fairly short distance of less than one mile. (Most guests walked from their lodgings, but I have some mobility challenges.) Even though the fare was only $5, I received prompt, courteous service both before (3:30 pm) and after (10:30 pm) the wedding. I didn't have any small bills, and the later driver didn't have change for a $20 bill. He offered to come back with change for me, but I told him to keep the large tip and do something nice for someone else tomorrow. It was a very short trip, and I know that can be frustrating for some drivers; my driver was totally polite about it. So make sure you have some small bills if you plan to use this taxi company and pay cash (I didn't even ask about credit cards), but otherwise I can't think of anything about to complain about. I had two different drivers. A lady was on duty in the afternoon, and a young man in the evening. One cab was a car, while the other was a minivan. Both were clean vehicles; neither had any kind of discernible odor (and I'm one of those people easily bothered by chemicals, perfumes, smoke, and other common scents.) read more

I had driven down to Sutter Coast Hospital to get medical treatment I was given meds that are not conducive to safe driving so after discharge from the hospital I needed a cab to take me to my hotel. My driver Amy was so friendly and helpful. She arranged to pick me up in the morning and was there on the dot and she even gave me breakfast because she dropped me at the wrong hotel. As long as Amy's driving I'd love to use Coastal Cab. I was very impressed! Five stars! read more

Just enlisted in the help of Coastal Cab Co to get from the hotel we were staying at to go to CEC (Del Norte) airport. For anyone reading, Coastal Cab was great and easy to use. Tip for cyclists that may be using Crescent City as their stopping point: With 2 bike boxes and paneers in tow, our driver was able to get us to the airport in 1 easy trip. Im NOT taking Coastal Cab again! Taxi driver said he didn't have change for a $100 so after we got to my destination he then takes me to Safeway SO I CAN GET CHANGE FOR HIM TO GIVE TO ME! After I got change the driver took me back to my destination. He never turned off the meter. So when it was time to pay, I paid the exact amount and said have a nice night. No way I was tipping!!! UPDATE: Someone from management attempted to contact me after I made a post about the incident on a social media site. I never responded to the contact attempt; instead I posted this response: "It's all cool. Nothing needs to be made right. I'm just not interested at this point. What happened, happened; and I had my say. I thank whomever may be trying to reach me. I've simple been disheartened by the whole affair and no longer want to deal with it. Again, I thank the management or whomever may be trying to reach me. I'll probably erase this post in a few min." So COASTAL CAB did attempt to make the situation right. I thought that was pretty cool. So I am editing my review and giving more stars. read more

I called Costal Cab while on vacation in the area when I needed a lift to pick up my rental car. The car was kind of old and smelled of smoke but the driver was courteous, helpful, and prompt. At the conclusion of my 10 MILE ride to the airport I was blown away when he said my fare was $27! I expected at most it would cost half of that. Left me feeling robbed. Bottom line....ask for a fare estimate beforehand to avoid sticker shock. read more

Coastal Cab Company is the only cab I will now use in Crescent City. I've used the other company in the past, but their wait times were getting to be unreasonably long. My first call to Coastal Cab was from the Del Norte Airport at 11:00pm. I had just disembarked from a miserable 2 hour bus ride from Medford because our inbound plane couldn't land in Crescent City due to fog. I was tired, hungry and had just got the news from the other guys that the wait would be over an hour. I called Coastal Cab and they were there in 15 minutes. I have used them several times since to transport me back to the airport for the 7:00am flight. They've always been prompt and friendly. Sometimes too prompt! I usually have to speed up my departure because they routinely arrive 10 min early. Today, my Dad needed a ride to the doctor. I called Coastal Cab and Jennifer was there within 20 minutes to safely transport him so he wouldn't have to drive himself there. Highly recommend Coastal Cab. read more
