We cannot say enough positives about this company! From Melissa who takes the calls, to Vern, our HVAC go-to guy, this company is First Class! The previous homeowners used Coastal and we called them when we moved in for HVAC maintenance. Vern came out within 3 hours, serviced the HVAC and gave us a tutorial on maintaining the units. Recently, our AC went out and the capacitor needed replacement. Since it had been replaced previously by the former owners, it was under warranty and there was no charge for the call! How awesome! I bought a condo at Palms at Marsh Landing that had been smoked in. I called Coastal to do an air duct cleaning. When they came out they told me they couldn't clean the air ducts because of the fire dampers in them. I was unsure how to proceed to get the smoke smell out of the AC system. They recommended an ionizing system to help and installed that day. They also did a thorough cleaning of the outside unit. Of course I cleaned, odor sealed primed and repainted the walls, but I was very pleased that I was able to mitigate the smell with the help of Coastal Heating and Cooling. This company is amazing! From their answering service to their technician, they were so friendly. They were fast as well! I called and was told they would be able to see me that day...within an hour the technician was at my home, and in 30 minutes he had it fixed! I am completely satisfied and want to give Coastal a big shout out! I did not have any referral of who to use when I woke up today , a hot Saturday morning to a broken AC. To keep this brief and to summarize, their every day , any hour service call fee was only $55 which was a third the price of 2 other quotes this morning. Great customer service, the lady who took call let me know the service guy would be Vernon and he was currently on another call , I would be next . She also said she would call me to keep me posted as to when he was heading to my house. Literally within 10 minutes she called and let me know Vernon in route. Within 1 hr. of my call, Vernon arrived and diagnosed capacitator bad , replaced and had my AC running like a charm !! Don't look any further for AC repair work! read more

Customer service and professionalism! We were without a working AC for over a week at the end of June up through July 4th. Waiting on another AC company to come and take care of the problem, waiting on a part to come in, basically getting the run around and not getting a clear answer every time we called, we ended up calling Coastal on 7/3/18 in the morning. They were at our house within an hour! By the next day, 7/4/18 we had a brand new AC unit installed. Our technician was Will and he was friendly, professional, informative and yes, he volunteered and installed a brand new unit on JULY 4TH! The people at Coastal saved the day!!! When my air conditioning unit was not cooling my salon, I called Coastal. The operators were courteous and helpful. They called and gave me play by play info on the technician that was appointed to my job. Where he was, when he left the previous job site, and again when he was on his way to me and how long it would take. So there was no need for me to call them and follow up. The technician arrived within an hour of me placing the initial call. They were forward and honest with pricing before the service was performed. I believe my technician's name was Will. He was also courteous and knowledgeable. I feel so blessed for finding them being that I found them through google without any referral and without knowing anything about their company. Air Conditioner went out on a Saturday Morning. Called two other highly rated local businesses, one could come out on Tuesday, the other didn't call back until that afternoon. By that time, Costal had already been out and replaced the capacitors in the outside unit. The technician (Vernon) who arrived in the 'Emergency' vehicle (a very wisely reapportioned ambulance), was honest about the age of the system (2007) and the risks of adding additional Freon. The capacitors did the job and the a/c unit was blowing cold air within 2 hours of calling them (on a Saturday). The person who took my call kept me in the loop by letting me know i was next on the Vernon's route and even called back to let me know he was on the way from his previous job. Reasonably priced as well. read more

I called because I had a problem with my outside unit. The air handler would come on but the outside unit would not. It stopped working in the middle of a very hot day. They promised the technician would come after 3 and he did, around 6. This was later than expected but the fact that he came at all was fabulous. The outside unit had a short because some ants got in there.It was fixed in 20 minutes and cost 250 dollars, but the house was about 93 degrees so I was glad to pay it. That night, the AC was running continuously, but since it was cooling from such a high temp, I thought nothing of it and went to bed. In the morning, the house was 73 degrees and the thermostat was set at 78! I flipped it off, thinking maybe it was just a fluke and turned it back on before I went to work. Then, I get home and it is FREEZING!! AC wouldn't auto shut off even once it hit the set point, although the thermostat DID click off. (Can't wait to get my electric bill this month) So, I called Coastal out again. The tech said it was a "bad thermostat". Interesting, since the thermostat was less than 5 years and had worked perfectly prior to this, but I paid the nearly 200 to fix it because I don't know how to do it and I had no choice if I didn't want an AC running 24/7. Now with the new thermostat, I have to keep the AC set cooler than I did with the other one just to keep the house at the same level of comfort. I'm not saying I was ripped off, but the outside unit having a wire clogged by ants did NOT break the thermostat inside. I wish I had shopped around, but what do you do when it is almost 100 degrees in your house?? Or the AC won't stop? Not exactly the best time to price compare and these companies know that! Maybe this was a coincidence, but I won't use this service again to find out. There are just too many AC companies. They SHOULD have given me a big discount on the thermostat (not even programmable), because although I will not say they ripped me off, I certainly FEEL like they did and will never be a customer of theirs again. read more
