I had implants removed on 1/21/20 with Dr. Batra. He is a horrible communicator and did not listen to what I needed. I requested photos of implants to be take after removal with capsules on (if they could be) He LIED to me regarding the photos he took during surgery. He took 2 pics of the same implant and told me it was of both. He gave me a lift I did not need. Beware ~ his ego is very fragile. When I started asking questions for explanations he got angry and told me I was "expecting too much!" When I left negative feedback for him, he CUT OFF my care , 2 months post op. Began as a surgeon who didn't even want to take my case to a surgery that did NOTHING to help me and had to be redone by another EXCELLENT surgeon. From the first meeting to the last, I was greeted with arrogance, disdain and a generally SOUR and unhappy man who called himself Dr Batra. In my entire life I never met a Doctor who seemed to HATE his life & patients like this man. Good luck to you if you elect to choose this doctor. Our first meeting he literally suggested I find a different doctor but would take my case since it was "urgent" requiring surgery. I wish I had the time then to wait but I was told at the hospital prior to get this surgery done NOW. Never again will I be rushed into surgery with someone who immediately made myself AND my wife completely uncomfortable in every way imaginable. Never, EVER again....Oh and that smile in his picture? Google some more because it is the ONLY smile I ever saw on this mans face. He clearly just displayed either anger, frustration or plain hated the world in OUR time spent with the man. I have never been in the hands of such a caring, geniunly warm hearted doctor. Dr. Batra is amazing! I have been through over 20 surgeries in my life due to a kitchen fire i was in when i was 3, i received burn scars on my face and arms.I am now 23 years old and have been in the hands of many doctors from LA to OC, but have never felt so comfortable with any of them as i did with Dr. Batra. His talent is unbelievable, I have never had such a fast recovery and such great results. This was my first surgery I had with him, but it will not be my last. I put a yelp in right after surgery. I thought that doctor Jindal did a good job. But since then I have changed my mind. I had a lot of scaring. Plus the amount of fat that was transferred to my breast was 80 cc which is not enough to do anything. I went back to him to see if he could do more fat transfer because I didn't like the scares. He said two more surgeries to not even get a cup bigger. So I decided to get implants again. But now I had to get a min tummy tuck because when he did the fat transfer. He took fat from the middle side of my stomach ? So you can see the dent head on? Plus I had really big pockets in my breast from either the first surgery with another doctor or from Him? I'm not sure who that was .but the fat transfer he did was a joke a lot of money for 80 cc of fat and to be left with the dents was not cool. I had breast augmentation with another surgeon in August 2012. I was never really happy with my results and my original plastic surgeon basically kept blowing me off. He kept telling me that over time things would change and I would be happy. 8 months later, that was still not the case. He decided that a lift would solve my concerns. I wanted a second opinion so I booked a consultation with dr. Batra . I decided not to express my concerns to him, maybe I was just crazy and anal retentive, so I will let the expert look at me and tell me what he sees. EVERY CONCERN I EXPRESSED TO ORIGINAL DR. WAS ADDRESSED! He listened, he saw what I saw, he heard me!!!!! I knew right then and there that I wanted a revision with Dr. Batra! I knew it would be an entirely new expense, but I knew it would be done correctly! Fast forward to surgery date....everything about this was different than my first experience. The friendliness, the comfort.....my husband and I actually went to lunch after surgery. Last time I was incoherent for 2 days and I could barely move! The anesthesiologist. Did an amazing job and all the staff at the surgery center were amazing! I loved my results from day 1! I would have been happy to stay just the way I looked on the day of surgery....dr. Batra assurred me that I would love them even more in 6-8 weeks. I am 2 weeks post op and I do love them more everyday! He not only had to do augmentation, but repair work and he removed so much scar tissue from the "oooppps" of the previous surgeon. He also said if I need the lift he would include it, but he felt that I did not need it and he didn't want to give me any unnecessary scarring. I, again, love my results! Dr. Batra assured me that if, when all is said and done, I still want the lift, I can come into the office and he could do it easily. Obviously, I am thrilled! I also feel confident that if any issues came up, highly doubtful, that he would listen and hear me and be more than willing to have me pleased with my results. This was my first ever cosmetic surgery and I've been hesitant to have a breast aug for the longest time. It's been something I was contemplating for over a decade. Finally after having kids and breastfeeding I thought it would be a good option to proceed. I didn't want large breasts and always liked the look of natural small breasts on me better than large. Dr. Barra executed just that! I was able to get my old breasts back, with a little bit more fullness still looking classy and cute. I have very little scarring (and for those who write poor reviews because of bad scarring, it's your body's response, not the surgeon fault - everyone heals differently) and my recovery was speedy. But if I may just say, the entire outcome could have gone so wrong if it weren't for Maryam, the medical/surgical coordinator who spent time with me and heard what I wanted and actually brought light to the choice between the implants and sizes. I owe the comfort of the final results to her. She's so knowledgeable and is professional. And has the patients best intentions at hand. Ok, I'm a guy, and despite everyone telling me they didn't think I needed surgery, at the same time they were telling me I looked tired. Enough was enough and I sought out Dr. Batra. I decided on him after researching his practice. Turns out he does great work, and I really like that he actively takes part in charitable services. I had a pretty good idea of what I didn't want, which was the hereditary bags under my eyes, the hooded puffiness of my lids, and the way-too-early soft double chin. Dr. Batra immediately saw my concerns and had a simple plan in a snap. He recommended upper and lower blepheroplasty and a quick lipo under the chin. I love that because of my age and lifestyle he didn't recommend a brow lift, or too many procedures, or even promise that it would be a huge change. Just a quick and simple fix (If surgery can be simple) so that I didn't look tired. The rest of the staff was extremely friendly and professional before, during and after the procedure. Apparently in a post-op anesthetic haze in the recovery room I demanded a beverage, which appeared. Not a proud moment for me, but kudos to them. I really appreciate that during any conversation they got right to the point without being rude. It's now three months later and I still sometimes can't believe the change in my face. I don' t consider myself to be a vain person, but dang, my eyes look awesome! Now even when I am exhausted, I don't look it. There's the tiniest bit of scarring on my lids, which is expected. But, unless you're looking for it while I'm sleeping, you'd never know it is there. Friends that didn't know I've had it done volunteer to me that I'm looking great and ask if I've been in the sun, working with a trainer, lost weight, gone on vacation or what have you. I'm more than pleased to tell them, no. And even more, I'm happy to tell them about Dr. Batra. One of my family members had a total body makeover with Dr. Batra. The surgery has been over five years, and she still looks and feels great. No complications. My personal experience was going with her to her pre and post op visits and I loved the calming nature of the staff. When they used the Vela Smooth machine on a particular visit, they gave me a full tutorial on the machine. Someone was asking me for my before and after photo's and I realized I never YELPED this AMAZING place! I love Dr. Batra! I am 28 and have had Rhinoplasty, breast augmentation, chin implant and lipo all at once! I went in 2006 to see Dr. Batra after looking for a surgeon I trusted since 2001 and I knew he would be the one for me. Having being over weight my whole life and finally deciding to make a change and losing weight and even having 2 children, did some damage to my body. I was left with skin hanging and it was so uncomfortable. I have been exercising and have been in the gym for about 6 years now, you can look at me and everyone can say wow she works out. I've been really fit to having 17% body fat and still had excess skin, got married and gained weight over some time, which I lost and have managed to keep off for over a year. I have always been able to feel my abdominal muscles but they were not being seen. I decided it was finally time for a change. When I first met with Dr. Batra, he has always made me feel very comfortable and he is a great person. He is very knowledgeable plastic surgeon. He has amazing bedside manner and actually cares about his patients. I had multiple questions and worries of course and he made me feel at ease all the way until surgery day and even to this day! I underwent an extended abdominoplasty, just less than a week ago. My stomach looks amazing now, yes it is a very painful process but I know I have Dr. Batra to be able to help me if any issues arise. After I awoke he came over and checked on me to see how I was feeling. I love that he has an actual great concern and care for his patients! More important than how wonderful my surgery and surgeon was, I felt completely cared for and even pampered throughout my care leading up to surgery and after. Today was a huge day for me. For the first time in over 10 years I went to the beach confidently wearing a bikini. The only reason I was able to do this was because of Dr. Batra and his staff. I went in for an upper bleph (eyelid) surgery that I have had performed previously by a different surgeon with beautiful results. It has been about 12 years and it needed to be done again as some of the extra skin has returned. Dr. Batra performed the surgery in his office in March of 2021. I went back about a week later and had my sutures removed and I was instantly concerned with the outcome but I figured the results would get better over time since I was still a little swollen. Months passed and every time I looked in the mirror I wanted to cry. My eyelids actually had WORSE hooding than before I had the surgery, making my eyes incredibly small and aging me quite a bit. I finally called the office and made an appointment to go back in to have them checked. The nurse that brought me back said "have you had your stitches removed yet?" That's how bad I looked, they had been removed months prior and she thought I just had the surgery done. I wanted to cry. I explained that I felt my eyes looked smaller and more hooded than before I had the surgery and I asked to see my before photos. I waited for what felt like forever but eventually I was shown a side by side comparison of my before and after and it was evident I now had a worse result than before having the surgery. Dr. Batra stood next to me as we looked at the photos and admitted that my eyes were now smaller and the skin hung over even more. I'll give him credit for his honesty. I also have "tails" at the end of my scars and was told to massage them which hasn't done anything. Dr, Batra suggested I get an eyebrow lift which is essentially an upper face lift and a major surgery to correct things. When I did not want to do that (I'm only 44), he suggested getting some laser on my eyelids. I was so upset at this point I was holding back tears. I was taken in to Maryam's office to schedule the laser and she informed me I would have a week of downtime. I explained that I work full time and couldn't take a week off work and asked to have it done on a Friday so I could recover two of those days over the weekend. She told me no Dr. Batra doesn't do this on Friday and wanted to schedule me for the beginning of the week. At this point I couldn't hold the tears back anymore and I got up and left so I could cry in my car. I never heard from them again and the reason I decided to write this review is because of one reason-neither Dr. Batra nor Maryam said "I'm sorry." That's what I needed to hear. This is my face and the pictures don't lie-I look worse than before I had the surgery. Why in the world could they not apologize? Mistakes happen. It's unfortunate but it is a risk you take. Just say "I'm so sorry you experienced an undesired result. We will do everything we can to make this right if you'll allow us..." Dr. Batra admitted my eyes were worse after the surgery, so why he couldn't say I'm sorry blows my mind. I should have been showered with apologies and regrets and flexibility to work around my schedule to make it right. The first surgeon I went to gave me a beautiful result. My results with Dr. Batra are the diametrical opposite and I'm devastated and so disappointed I didn't receive an apology. read more

Regarding insurance coverage, your office did pre-qualify me and you knew the amount of tissue required by my carrier to be covered as reduction. As stated, I wanted smaller breast and I was left with uneven, cross eyed nipples that are still MUCH too large, . Yes you did lift them, but the reduction was a botch. Do you really want me to start posting about how I tried to get actual costs for the surgery from you only to intercepted in your physician owned surgery suite where you make money not only for the surgery but "the fees associated with the surgery center" too? read more

Update: I wrote months ago when I was looking for a surgeon for my desired breast augmentation surgery. After leaving this office I was skeptical about going to any other doctors. I assumed everywhere I went I would feel pressured to put money down for the "special season sale" or whatever right then and there with no time to consider options before being directed to the door (the concept of discounts on surgery still baffles me). While Coastal Plastic Surgeons wasn't for me, I did end up finding a wonderful doctor, Dr. Umansky in La Jolla. After my initial consultation with Coastal, the dr had me thinking I was deformed and needed all this extra procedure work done to achieve my desired appearance. I can happily say it's been roughly 2 months since my procedure, and thanks to Umansky and his team I am very pleased. Coastal was talking about needed to do multiple cuts all around the center which would have resulted in very apparent scaring to much of my breast. Umansky performed the procedure in such a delicate way that already I have zero scars showing at all. This update really is my way of saying always meet with multiple doctors before making your final decision. A crazy lift, all around cut and then implant procedure was simplified to just an implant with another doctor and the results are exactly how I wanted them. read more

Did not have a good experience here. They didn't seem to know what to do for a simple sub-dermal cyst excisement procedure. The "numbing" process was the most painful series of 14 shots... my dentist shoots me with no pain at all. Other skin surgeries have been done with no pain, or maybe one tiny prick. These guys were horrible. The scar was as big as the cyst which seems to defeat the reasoning for going to a plastic surgeon., eh? Then, the procedure failed (the cyst grew back because they didn't get all of it) and I had to have it redone. Don't believe all the marketing hype. These guys aren't very good. read more

i chose dr. jinal for a breast reduction after 'interviewing' several others plastic surgeons in the area. i felt his bedside demeanor, knowledge, previous reviews of coastal plastic surgeons and reviews of peers had me on the right track. it was very easy to communicate with him as he spoke to me on 'my level'. we thoroughly discussed everything and off to surgery we went. post op was a nightmare, disastrous. i quickly noticed that my left nipple was off to the side. i had 'dog ears' (puckering of suture sight). i also had the dreaded complication of fat necrosis and a hematoma that had to be drained. i am now very asymmetrical and distorted. dr. jindal did indeed apologize for his wrong surgical judgement/plan and is errors. i appreciated that. he also said that he would be financially responsible for 'fixing' his error/mistakes. unfortunately i haven't heard from him since my surgery after sending a certified letter(s)and quite a few emails. i find that extremely unprofessional. dr. jindal is responsible for the disfigurement, distortion and mutilation to my breasts and body image. it has taken an emotional and physical toll on my being. i must add that when i asked for my surgical reports (weeks after my surgery) i found out (after untruths told by his nurse, lizzy, and dr. jindal) that the reports hadn't even been written. i had constantly requested the reports from lizzy and was given glib answers!! (dr. jinal went off on vacation right after my surgery without writing report(s) as he should have). i am going to another surgeon to fix these 'errors' done to my body. why would i go back to dr. jindal? just lost my faith in the man and coastal plastic surgeons. read more

This was my second visit to see Dr. Batra. When I was 35 I went to see him and wanted a makeover.My marriage was failing and I thought this could help everything. Dr. Batra had the insight to see that I suffered from a genetically heavy brow and eye lid. he suggested a brow lift. Well this was such a great idea at 42 I look 35 and I know its because of Dr. B. Now at 42 I knew who to see to have a breast lift and new implants. I had implants over 20 years ago and allot of scar tissue. I am now 3 weeks post surgery and I am so pleased with the result. After researching at least a hundred different plastic surgeons, from here in San Diego, all the way up to Beverly Hills, I decided to go with Dr. Batra based on his level of skill and expertise. The before and after pictures of his patients spoke for themselves.......there was just no comparison. It has been almost a year since my breast augmentation, and I could not be happier with what a great job Dr. Batra has done. He truly is an artist. He and his entire staff are so warm and friendly, and every single time I was in his office for a visit, it was such a positive experience. When I went in for my initial visit, I started to ramble off what cup size I wanted to be, and he stopped me, by asking me what I was looking to achieve with my body, and explained that the cup size was not what I should be focusing on. I told him that I wanted to be proportionate with my hips, and have fullness and cleavage, and he gave me EXACTLY what I was hoping for. I did not want to look huge and fake, and that was a big concern of mine. I tell you what.....not only do my breasts look very natural, but they feel very natural, and with the exception of the people that I've told about my surgery, everyone thinks that are real. Dr. Batra really listened to the look I was going for, and I couldn't be more pleased with the outcome. Immediately following my surgery, I expected to be out of commission for a while, and need someone to take care of me. That was definitely not the case at all, and I was so pleasantly surprised. I was up and going the very next day, and three days later I was back to working ten hours a day, on my feet all day, using a lot of arm movements. He was so great and thorough when it came to my post-op visits, and his staff made sure I was always comfortable. I had been referred to Dr. Batra, and always thought he had done excellent work. I always wanted bigger breasts growing up and felt embarrassed for my small boobs. I finally worked up the courage to go to a free consultation for a breast augmentation. I loved how honest Dr. Batra was with me on what size I should go maximum (375cc), so that's exactly what I did since I had small B's before surgery. He made me feel so comfortable right before surgery even though I was pretty nervous going in. Surgery and recovery was a piece of cake.
