Because they didn't tell me what I needed to do to prepare in advance for their visits. The first time, they said they needed the site survey. Okay, the second time I had that available. But then they said they needed all of the corners marked by a survey company. So I hired a survey company for $250 to mark the corners. And then they came a third time, gave me a quote that didn't reflect the borders I'd requested, and when I tried to correct it, they dropped my job entirely in exchange for commercial business. Meanwhile, my neighbor had a plan with Fortress for installation, though they hadn't signed a contract yet. They dropped her job, too, in favor of commercial business... and never actually told her. I had to tell her myself! I called the owner of the company to complain and left a voicemail, and never heard anything back. What terrible customer service. I guess in hindsight, I'm glad to give my business to a different fencing company - to one that actually cares about how they treat people.

James will likely reply to this with a he said she said sort of shaming, but this next problem is indefensible: now our flooring is breaking and they won't respond to me when I've tried to contact them. I think it's a manufacturer error, but it could be installation. I know my daughter's motorized wheelchair is part of the wear, but they knew we needed something that could handle that. The LVP boards are lifting and the corners breaking. It's troubling that they won't stand by their work or help facilitate communication with the manufacturer. Initially she was a charming lady and probably would be lovely to have lunch with but I wouldn't use her for an agent. After being shown multiple houses, many that were out of our price range, out of our style and out of the location parameters we had offered we had to eventually go with someone else. We found a house in a matter of 2 weeks rather than the months we ended up wasting with this company. She also managed to show us a lot of houses where she would have represented the buyers and sellers which just seem unethical to me, but maybe that is the way things work. We tried to consistently given feedback on what we wanted to see but were ignored. We let her know that we were going to part ways and she was totally offended, surprised and seemed not to understand that we weren't seeing eye to eye despite multiple conversations. Perhaps this should color your thoughts of the whole organization, but she has been with them a long time. We ended up going with her giving her length in the business and her glowing review on their site. I've been in Durham over 10 years and I love this place, but I'll avoid these folks when I buy or sell in the future.

I had to call a third time because no one called me back. When I finally got someone that third time, she said her name was Wanda. Wanda, I would soon learn, is a very condescending lady. Right away, she asked me how much I could spend. I told her because it seemed like a reasonable question and I expected her to then think of some great little areas I hadn't thought of that were right in my price range and had that certain something I was looking for. But what actually happened was that she started listing the nicest neighborhoods in Durham and told me not to bother because I couldn't afford them. Who does that? At this point in the conversation, I am confused at how blatantly I am being pigeonholed and spoken down to by this lady. But I kind of thought maybe this is how real estate agents talk? I really didn't know because it was my first time trying to by a house. But she was basically ignoring the things I said, which is not good in any retail situation. She told me that I should call her back in a few months when there were more listings. She told me that I should not just be calling random agencies because no one was going to take me seriously. I hired David Tile off a recommendation from a general contractor. The purpose was not to save…read moremoney but rather find someone honest and dependable. I had removed my microwave and replace it with a high end Range Hood. I wanted backsplash added in it place in and are 10 sq feet. I purchased the tile, grout. I hired David Tile to complete the job. They gave me an estimate for labor only and I agreed. The job was not completed correctly and they indicated they would come back in two days and clean the excess grout and cement along with fixing the pin holes in the grout which is normal. This would be their responsibilty based on the original scope of work. I also wanted the grout extended six inches lower. David Tile agreed to fix all the issues. This was November 2025. They continued to have excuse after excuse and cancel numerous appointments. They did not come back and clean the backsplash. I had to have someone come in and regrout what they did as well as extend the backsplash lower to my original plan. Their last appointment was set in February 12, 2026 at 2:45pm. I called and spoke with Angel and he indicated they had truck issues that morning and would not make it (They let me wait for them and I had to call them). David Tile then rescheduled for Sunday, February 15, 2026. On Sunday they did not call nor keep their appointment. I have to assume my job was too small and they had better things to do. I have learned over the years that a company is only as good as their work. I would not hire nor recommend David Tile.
