Its no surprise that the reviews of this office staff are so bad, but its clear that they dont care. The staff are rude, don't speak professionally, and are completely incompetent when it comes to doing their job. If you expect them to verify your insurance correctly, forget it. If you expect them to really dive into it and listen to correct the problem, they will laugh at you. Worse, they double down on being wrong and blame you when you get frustrated. The really sad part is review after review says the same thing, but the doctors and practice owners dont seem to care. Denise is laughable, abusive, and dishonest, and the rest of the staff shows their displeasure with their job and salary in how they treat their customers. I cannot possibly advise people enough to stay away. As I look at Carolyn's review from June 23rd, I went through the SAME EXACT thing. I had a stent in from a stone and they refused to do follow up from an emergency surgery. They also said they do not take my insurance, but they lied and said they dont. LIke Carolyn, they didnt want to deal with third party billing. Funny how multiple people keep having the same experience but the patients are the problem. I'm not done dealing with this situation as Aetna, my carrier, will be getting a full complaint that this provider is refusing to accept their insurance despite their agreement. I called to make an appointment for my mother, who currently lives in an Independent Living facility. The first woman I spoke with took 10 minutes worth of information. Then called back saying she couldn't take my mother because she's living in a facility. I asked to speak to a manger to try and understand why - Denise, the Manager, was rude "it's our policy" then hung up on me. If the front lines of an office are bad, don't trust the team. read more

Doctor operated on me and put a stent in and was unable to blast very large kidney stone while I was in the hospital. Sent home with no instructions. When I contacted the office, the manager was insistent that they don't take my insurance and was very rude. Told me I was on my own with a stent in me and stone. It was very hard to find a doctor that would help since another doctor already operated. And they do take my insurance, she just didn't want to deal with third party billing is what the manager said. This is an awful thing to do to a person. They were obligated to follow up when you operate on someone. read more

I will say a word of advice if you want to be treated disrespectfully and experience elder abuse ,particularly with Denise and the rest of the office staff then make an appointment! DO NOT USE....All they care about is your money! They charge you for a phone call telling you the results of a PSA test. It's their policy to charge you for phone call as a tele visit for test results. I will never recommend this practice to anyone. read more

Had surgery performed by Carrie Fitzgerald with Coastal Urology. She never stopped by before the surgery began. The surgery started 4 hours late. Never stopped by after the surgery. I had a catheter that had to be removed a week after. The medical assistant and nurse could not remove the catheter as easy as it should be. "This is very rare" as I was told. The pain from trying to remove this was probably the most intense pain I have ever experienced in my life. A week after I went in for a follow up appointment. When I got to the window in the Dr. office, the woman in the Lakewood Office told me I couldn't be seen because I had owed a balance. I told this woman I haven't received a bill. She couldn't call me BEFORE I left work early so that I could make my appointment and I can't even get a phone call???? She gave me the number of the "billing department". I spent my time calling numerous times and playing phone tag with what seems like someone working from home who was not returning my calls with any promptness. Stay away from Coastal Urology, both locations Jack Martin Blvd in Brick and Route 70 in Lakewood. read more

How many bad reviews does this practice need to receive of their staff before the staff is educated and trained in dealing with patients? Dr. Fam is my husband s physician at this practice. He is wonderful.Professional and caring and quiet expertise in this field. He also listens to his patients. It is a shame that patients are turning away because of the office front desk staff. They never identify themself when answering the phone. They hang up on you .No phone skills. Hardly any knowledge of an urology office practice.Rude and condescending when questioned in any way. I agree with the fact they don`t even deserve one star. Terrible office staff. I`ve been going there for a year and a half and it`s never any different. Unfortunately there is no zero stars rating. I brought my aunt to this office for follow-up post hospital discharge. The doctor was one hour late in meeting with us. How they can be running one hour late when her appointment was just 30 minutes after the office opened is beyond me. He then proceeded to speak to me, never my aunt, asked her no questions and performed no evaluation. He repeatedly looked at the clock and seemed to be annoyed by our appointment. He met with us only 10 minutes and repeatedly stated "if you have questions you can call the office." No, his is why we came here, to speak with a doctor. My aunt is 86 and paralyzed on her entire left side. The cost to transport her was $700 and the inconvenience and associated pain were entirely unnecessary considering the lack of investment this doctor displayed. I DO NOT recommend this place, my aunt will not be returning and I shared with her primary physician (referring party, Visiting Physicians, who are great) the poor treatment she received and suggested they no longer refer patients here. read more

Ridiculous service... Cancel at last minute after waiting months first an appointment..in pain.. Would rate ZERO if possible.....

I went to the ER the beginning of February and couldn't urinate. The Dr. put a cathitor in and suggested me to see my urologist. I had been seeing another Dr. but didn't like them from another practice. My primary suggested Coastal Urology. I saw Dr Chapman about 1-2 weeks later and he did a few tests on me. He suggested I see Dr.Fam for surgery. He called me himself and I saw him 2 days later. I had Robotic Surgery at Jersey Shore Med.Ctr. on 3/3/22. By 4/3/22 I was 80% and by 5/3/22 I was 100% like when I was a 20 year old, unbelievable! I'll be 65 in November. I've never had better surgical care or Uroligical care ever. The Physicans assts. there are phinominal as well. All pitched in,worked together to make my diagnonis, surgery and recovery quick and not painful at all! Thank you all, you changed my life 100% for the better and I never thought I would be normal again in that way. read more

Came in to this office for routine check up after being evaluated hydronephrosis, Doctor was able to diagnose the issue and I was treated with Antibiotics. This was a pleasant experience for because I am now pain free and I can't thank the staff enough for the compassion they showed and the doctor for his excellent care. Thank you guys again. read more

Cancelled my appointment 4 times in 3 month period and receptionist was nasty when I said this is the fourth time you cancelled my appointment. She couldn't care less. They don't give two craps about you before you walk thru the door so I'm sure it will get worse afterwards. Don't waste your time with this train wreck Place. read more
