If I could give them 5 stars plus, I would. This is the most honest repair shop I have ever done business with. They only do quality work. They want to completely please the customer. My car needed front end collision repair. When I got the car back, it was perfect just like it was brand new. Except one little thing, the front grille was green before, but the new grille was grey. I brought it up to Michael, and he said they had noticed it also. They had ordered a green one, but received a grey one. So he ordered again, and found out that Toyota had discontinued the green. I would have been satisfied with his efforts, but he went further and made some calls to see if he could locate a green one. A few days ago, one of my rear parking sensors started beeping nonstop every time I put my car in reverse. I took it to the dealership to have it checked out, and they told me I needed to have my rear bumper removed, modify all four sensors. remount them, and recalibrate - at the cost of $1,700! Based on a recommendation from a private Audi mechanic I took my car to Coastline Collision in SJC. Within an hour, they ran diagnostics and found that there was actually nothing wrong with the sensors themselves. They had originally been mounted with a very weak adhesive and one had come loose. They were able to access them from underneath the car, remount all four sensors with a stronger adhesive, and fix the problem without even removing the bumper. The best part? They charged me absolutely NOTHING. I know dealerships aren't always the most cost-effective option for repairs, but I did expect the diagnosis to be accurate. I was honestly shocked that what turned out to be such a simple fix came with such an egregious recommendation from the dealer. So if you are in need of any collision or electronic repairs, I can't recommend Coastline Collision enough. Ask for Michael--he was fantastic! read more

My husband passed away a couple months ago, so I have been in a bit of a fog. Also, my sister's car, a 2016 Toyota Corolla is now parked in our garage until I can sell it. With our Chrysler Town & Country (pictured) it's a pretty tight fit side-to-side in the garage. While in my "fog" I completely misjudged the turn into the garage one evening and scraped the right rear side of the van against the garage door opening. Coastline was the second body shop I went to for an estimate, checking on "without insurance" prices first. I couldn't believe it when the price my estimator, Raphael Thayer, gave me came out to LESS THAN HALF the amount given me by the first company. I mentioned this to him and made sure he understood I did not want a "patch job" - I wanted perfection, and I wanted the bids to be apples to apples. He explained the other company was simply overcharging me. In spite of some resistance from me, he convinced me to allow him to show me how much better he could make my van look on the spot. He took what he called some "magic water" (smelled like turpentine) and began working on the paint transfers. In approximately 3 minutes he had removed ALL THE PAINT left by the garage w/o any harm to my van's paint job. This includes the black marks the other company had said were scratches clear down to the metal.... Then he circled the van again and noticed my front bumper was loose, so he called a technician to come over who banged it back into place w/the flat of his hand. Good as new! The only thing left is a small dent by the rear bumper and a small break in the paint in the same area. Raphael, rather than encourage me to get these things fixed, advised me to sell the vehicle (which I must) as is as I would likely not get the money for the repair back. Also, unless you are looking for damage in that area, it is not noticeable. Who knew there were such nice people left in the world?! Not only did he not take advantage, he encouraged me NOT to spend the money. I'm pretty certain that if I do decide to get the work done in the future, Coastline will do a spectacular job. During the time I was being being helped by Raphael, I witnessed two other customers check out - work completed - both VERY happy. This was the second time I required the services of Coastline Collision and I can truthfully say they lived up to my highest expectations. I was involved in a minor fender bender only a week and a half after purchasing my new car, so, though the damage was fairly minor, I was devastated. Nestor, my Quote Advisor, took over, worked with my insurance company and assured me they would do their best to return my car to me looking as good as new. They finished their work in a timely manner and when I saw the final results, I couldn't have been more pleased. The car looked perfect! I couldn't even tell where the dents and scratches had been. Recently to my sons car here for repair. It was hit while parked in the rear and needed some work to be done, trunk, bumper, left and right rear quarter panels. They quoted $10000 to start with caveat it could be up to $15000 after getting in to it. This was after I already had a $6000 estimate from another repair shop. My still great Honda S2000 was tapped at a stoplight by a big pickup truck whose driver thought traffic was crawling forward and claimed that she couldn't see my car because of her truck's high hood. Ugh! It put a small but noticeable dent in the car's rear bumper. My insurance company, AAA, has Coastline collision as a preferred provider. I would have taken it there anyway due to the great service he has previously provided. Gerry, the owner, gave me an estimate and said that the repair should be no problem. As the front bumper of the car had 18 years worth of stone chips, I decided to get that repaired and repainted at the same time. Talked with Gerry by phone about two weeks after dropping off the car. He said that they had completed the car and that it looked good in the sun, but when he saw it in the shade, the paint didn't match to his satisfaction. He asked if he could keep it for another day or two for a respray. I said OK. I was glad he had such high standards. Update: 8/19/20 Another visit to Coastline for me. The truck sustained damage all along the passenger side due to freeway debris. An entire sheet of thick plexiglass shattered after another vehicle hit it and sent it all towards me. My insurance company tried to claim the damage could be fixed for about $1300. There was over $4k of damage. Scott and JC at coastline did a great job working with the adjuster and ultimately got them to cover everything, even after my insurance company tried to say some of the damage wasn't related. Already said this before, but the team at Coastline Collision couldn't be better. Friendly. Easy to work with. Excellent attention to detail. Quick. I would highly recommend Coastline. At the exact moment I parked, which was 3pm on the dot, JC, the owner, walked right up to me at the precise time of my estimate, even though he was handling some other work in the back with an employee, and took a look at the area of concern. I only had my brand new car for 5 days when my elderly neighbor mistakenly hit the gas instead of the breaks when backing out of his driveway. (Some guy hit her and wanted to pay for it) I took it for a second estimate at Coastline.
