There have been many times where my family and I were in a stressful situation and were in a better state when Guy arrived. He and his team took amazing care of our home. My biggest worry is mold and the safety of our young children. So when our home was flooded, he came by as soon as possible with every possible tool in his arsenal. He was honest about the moisture levels and kind enough to explain the situation. He and his team were professional and well educated when it came to this line or work. Everytime I have a moment to thank the universe for the special people it has put in our path, Guy and his team are on the list. By the third time, water came leaking out of the ceiling (plumbing issue), I knew what needed to be done just by all of the knowledge Guy had dropped on us. I immediately thought, "Call Guy right now." If you own a home, keep this business card on your fridge. You can thank me later. Salamat, kuya Guy!

I was afraid to call before 8AM so I sent a message through Yelp after searching for a restoration help near me, which is in Nipomo, CA. In minutes Guy responded and came out to us within a half hour. My husband and I felt completely comfortable because he is a very kind and honest man. He immediatly took charge and saved our newer carpet and remedied any impending mold. Not only that he was sensitive to costs and came out every morning to check in on us. Two days later everything is good to go. I felt like it was a Godsend to have this interaction with Guy. Although I hope we will not encounter a flood again, I highly recommend Guy.

Brandon and Ryan, the project manager were fantastic in responding promptly to all text messages and phone calls from both the and myself. I contacted them because all their reviews were so positive. I have a 3,200 Sq ft attic that has been a hotel to my numerous feral cats/kittens and a few opossums and raccoons for 15 yrs now! They destroyed all the insulation and the heating/air ducting You ask how did this happen, well if you have ever dealt with a large group of feral cats that breed like rabbits, it becomes overwhelming very quickly especially when you don't even know they are up there! Well, we are finally down to two cats living up there so we knew IT WAS TIME TO GET THE ATTIC CLEANED UP, NEW INSULATION AND DUCTING AND THEN CLOSE IT UP FINALLY! I called three contractors expecting them all to turn down the job and I couldn't blame them if they did! Fortunately, SCI - Simons Const was the first company I called. Ryan answered the phone and said he would be out the next da1y to look at it. He went up into the attic and when he came back down he said YES, they would do the job and he explained in full detail to me what they needed to do and how they were going to do it! He also sent me a detailed bid THAT NIGHT and explained a lot of things can come up once it's cleaned up like wiring and structural issues. Obviously these would be added costs but I was informed by Don, who was amazing and worked like a supervisor along with all the crew, every step of the way if they saw anything that was a concern! I could never say enough GOOD THINGS ABOUT DON!!! He always kept me informed what they were doing, when they would be here and he always made sure they were not interrupting my daily activities! He always kept Ryan in touch of what was going on and then Ryan would call or text me too to make sure I knew what was going on! I tell you, THESE GUYS ARE ON IT and SO EASY TO WORK WITH!!! They also had to keep in touch with my heating/air Co, the insulation Co and my roofers because they had to cut holes in my roof to take out all the old insulation and ducting so we could put in the new stuff! Ryan suggested putting together a group text with everyone's numbers so that EVERYONE KNEW WHAT WAS GOING ON AND WHEN, IT KEPT THE PROJECT RUNNING SMOOTHLY AND ON TIME The entire project only took 1 month but it felt like it was just a couple of weeks because everyone was so efficient and fortunately there were no unforseen issues I could go on forever about SCI - Simons Const, Ryan, Don and the wonderful crew but all you really need to know is THEY ARE THE BEST at least from my experience in every way!!! So easy to work with, honest reliable and they REALLY CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS AND THEIR WORK SPEAKS FOR ITSELF! They now are the only construction Co that I will use and MOST DEFINITELY RECOMMEND TO EVERYONE !!!! THANK YOU RYAN, DON AND THE REST OF THE AMAZING CREW!! You truly made something happen that I never thought was possible and it wouldn't have happened if it were not for SCI- SIMONS CONST!!! THANK YOU!!!

After responding quickly to some water damage, they started making promises that they never kept. Over 5 months later we had to find someone with ethics and integrity. I explained that I was not living in SLO County YET, but in process with moving, and would need to be away from the week before Christmas into January. He'd said, "No problem, I'll give you updates, take pictures, and send them to you, and you can call me anytime. " I left to be with family and to pack & sort for my move feeling confident that I & my new but water-damaged home were in good hands. I NEVER got a call, text, or single photo from Travis or any of his crew though I was calling and leaving messages. The guy would not call me back!! I'm stuck 300 miles away and needing to know if I could return to reoccupy my home, if the work was DONE, etc.! First-time Home Owner, Single Woman, and this has been AWFUL! When I did return to my South County home end of January, the work was only partly done, and they had abandoned my home, leaving the door on the deck wide open to the elements, (+ a major MESS of things, inside & out!), allowing for RAIN to blow right back in to what they allegedly dried out! Total Nightmare.

Steve Knght was pleasant to work with at first, but then became very rude, unhelpful, and not honest about costs as time went on. I lived out of town and when his quote for counters came at a significantly larger cost then he originally quoted, would not help me find a suitable replacement for a rental and only guided me to places with no pictures to use. He then CHOSE the counters without my approval and was dishonest about the cost to put them in, asking me for an additional $6k months later that somehow "wasn't on the invoice". From speaking with others in Santa Barbara this is a typical experience. If you choose him, account for 150% or so of the price he quoted you initially. My tenant is also a handyman and was inspecting his crews work. He said he had to be on top of them to mount the cabinets correctly, and somehow storage space and cabinets just disappeared. If he hadn't been onsite I think it would have been very poorly constructed.

They tore out my entire kitchen, sent their plumber out to do a temporary fix on the leaking pipe, and set up fans & a dehumidifier. After a week, the fans (extremely loud) were still there until I called to find out why they hadn't been removed. No one had come to check the moisture levels until I made a phone call. They were running for almost 2 weeks total (ugh!). After a month with no kitchen, I made another phone call to find out why nothing had been done. I was told that they were waiting for the insurance to authorize payment. (From day 1, I told them that cost didn't matter...I needed my kitchen repaired) At that time, I was emailed a contract stating that I would cover costs if the insurance denied anything. Why that wasn't offered on day 1, I have no idea. Anyway...with the contract signed, they started working the following week. Things started rolling, which was great, but then we never really knew when the different contractors (drywall, plumber, paint, cabinet, granite) were going to show up. Jose, the project manager, was very responsive to my phone calls or texts....and I'm sure he thought I was nagging him. He made necessary phone calls to try and get my kitchen finished. After a full 2 months, my kitchen was finally done. On a side note, I work out of town and wasn't there to inspect progress each step of the way. My husband was there intermittently due to his work schedule. I was finally able to get home and see the finished project. For the most part it looked fine , but as I started putting my kitchen back together, I started noticing things that were done half-heartedly. The dishwasher didn't work...only because the electrical plug they replaced pushed into the wall when they tried to plug in the dishwasher, so the plug didn't engage completely. (There were a couple of plugs that were that way) I'm not sure if they missed a screw when they installed it? But I didn't have the patience at that point, to pull the face plate off and see how the plug was installed. My ceiling still has a grime line from where they hung the plastic sheeting, the paint in the kitchen was a poor job (see attached photo), the granite counter looks like they were about 1/4" short where it met the wall and they made up the gap with a lot of whatever it was that they used to seal the seams. They even left it on my wall! So needless to say, the next time I'm home, I'll be grabbing a paintbrush and "fixing" the paint in the kitchen and grabbing a ladder and cleaning my ceiling. The people from KwikResponse that I spoke with were very nice and I have no complaints about them. But I would have thought that they would have done a walk through to make sure their sub-contractors did a good job, since it reflects negatively on them when the work is sloppy. This is the only time in all of my years of home ownership that I have ever had to hire a restoration company. I truly hope I never have to do it again...but if I do, I'll make sure to take a leave of absence from work to be there every step of the way to ensure this doesn't happen again.
