I really don't like what Yelp brings out of people. I have never written a review for anyone and probably won't again. In the case of Coastside Technical Services - they have been so fair in price, prompt in service, and responsive, and expert at what they did for me. I can only wonder why when I went to google to find their telephone number again - I went through Yelp and found - unbelieveabley - weak reviews. I agree with the folks that were very satisfied. When the dishwasher threatened to die because of a broken latch I called Coastside Technical Services. Michelle was very helpful and gave us a 2 hour window (compared to 5 hours with Sears) for waiting for service man. Steve was really professional and concerned about making sure the dishwasher was working correctly. He worked steadily and even addressed another issue that he thought might be a problem. Dropping from 5 to 4 stars. Needed some help with a water heater and they had no one who could come out that day. I discovered on my own that the problem was a bad thermocouple and they wanted to charge $140 to replace it the following day. I bought the part for $7 and did it myself in 20 minutes. After our dryer had been making very loud and clonking noises for a week, it completely stopped. The back circular metal back in the inside of the dryer had fallen into the dryer. I called coastside technical since they were close. Michelle was very helpful in scheduling and accommodating my husbands schedule and the tech was out in a couple days. He was polite and diagnosed the problem quickly. He had to go back to the shop to get parts and was back to the house within minutes (I guess the shop is pretty close), and it was fixed! Our water heater stopped working right before Christmas and I called Coastside Technical Services. They came over right away and nailed the problem... our water heater was very old and had a lot of corrosion, the pipes were not even the right ones and it was a ticking time bomb. The folks from CTS ordered a new water heater and had it delivered and installed the next day... so fast! Later that night a pipe from the house started leaking... it was not CTS's fault at all, the problem was in our plumbing but they came over... after hours.... even the owners daughter showed up. They fixed our plumbing leak and even cleaned up the flood that had resulted, and they didn't charge us a dime to do it. I love Coastside Technical Services. My ice maker stopped working so Mark and Derick from cane out to find the problem. They found the ice maker was not working and ordered a replacement part. They came back and repaired my frig a few days later after they received the part. They were both professional and knew what to do following exact instructions from the manufacture. Coastside Technical just installed a new furnace for me. This company had successfully patched my old one together for the last 19 years and save me many $, The new one was installed with efficiency and the company went the extra mile. The owner got my garage door working better and even charged my classic car which was in the way of furnace delivery--all at no extra cost! Such service is so rare in todays world. Michelle, who answered my call and scheduled my appointment was very friendly, courteous, efficient and professional. They had an appointment time available WEEKS sooner than other repair services. She scheduled Mark the technician who arrived promptly at the beginning of the time frame scheduled. He was very professional, personable and helpful answering all of my questions and offering great advice. I felt very comfortable with him in the house. Unfortunately, the machine was not worth repairing and he explained in detail why, but he shared information about a terrific sale on appliances and I got online and took advantage of that, saving a great deal of money. Our heater stopped working on the Friday before the President's Holiday weekend. We were having terrible storms that weekend, and it was COLD. My husband left a message Friday after 5 p.m. on the machine at Coastside Technical Services. At a little after 8:30 a.m. on Monday, President's Day, Steve Nardini called us back. He was able to come early Tuesday morning to replace the gas igniter and the circuit board, both of which had stopped working. I came home from work to find a Warm House! Thank you again for the professional service from Steve Nardini. He was able to show my husband the trouble and walk him through the repairs that needed to be done. My experience with my washer. After a complete cycle cloth are still sopping wet. Technician tests washer and says it is spinning, I say the cloths are still sopping wet. He say that he could try "something", but no guarantee it would help. So I pay the $75 and ask him to leave. I can't pay more money on a hunch. So be it, I continue to run the spin cycle twice so that I can put the cloths in the dryer. read more
