Jill handled my wedding and a good portion of the design, while Lindsey (who has since left Coastyle to spread her wings) was my amazing coordinator. I went with just the "month of" coordination after I had gotten the ball rolling on my own on all of my big decisions - venue, caterer, photographer. This was a good fit for me because I'm great at starting things, but terrible at finishing them, so the girls at Coastyle were LIFESAVERS!! Sometimes the right person comes along at the right time for all the right reasons--such was the case with my husband...AND COASTYLE EVENTS! The day of planner we had planned to hire ended up moving away and into our lap fell Jillian, the best choice we made throughout the entire planning process. But, as it turned out, the throes of our wedding planning came when I started a new job and had to leave all the planning I had started in my fiance and Jillian's hands. Coastyle Events did our 1.3.15 wedding. I can't recommend them enough. I'm an organized type A person with pretty high standards and Ashley exceeded them. She was able to manage details, vendors, quirky family members, strange church people, timelines, changes in schedule..pretty much anything you can think of...Because of that, I did not stress at all on my wedding day. In fact, I was able to enjoy the entire day. Jillian and Ashley took minimal input from us and created an EVENT. It was at the Dana Hotel on Mission Bay and the theme was rustic beach glam. They included elements that made it one of a kind! It was a beautiful day/evening that exceeded my expectations. I had such an amazing experience working with Coastyle Events for my wedding that I don't even know how to put my thank you and recommendation into words. I loved that there were many package options- We did the "Getting Started," "Month Of," and "Event Design & Styling" packages, which worked out perfectly! Where do I event start??? Ashley started as my wedding planner and over the course of the past 7 months became a good friend. You know a wedding planner is awesome when she becomes good friends with the bride while planning the bride's wedding. ;) Ashley and her team did full wedding planning, decor, and design for us and they were simply amazing. My husband and I were married at the Martin Johnson House in La Jolla. A wedding venue that is beautiful but requires the couple to bring in everything from seating, food, DJ, photo booth, lighting, and in our case decor... lots and lots of decor. Our wedding day went off without a hitch and Ashley and her team are 100% responsible for that. Ashley is professional, organized, punctual, quick to respond, creative, personable, and it is clear that she really truly loves her job. I was constantly in awe of the minute details she repeatedly remembered, when I was unsure about something that we had discussed months before. She handled all of our wedding planning needs from helping me make sense of my indecisive tendencies, keeping the peace between me and my very opinionated mother (not the easiest task), telling me that glow in the dark light sabers would be a great idea (she was SOO right!!), recommending the most wonderful and AFFORDABLE vendors (she saved us A LOT OF MONEY), and attending vendor meetings with us. We hired Coastyle Events for our wedding on Oct 12, 2013 and were extremely satisfied with the results. Ashley did an amazing job with the coordination and Jillian with the beautiful flowers. There were two major issues with the wedding dresses and didn't get the dress until 6 days before the wedding. Ashley & Jillian were both very supportive and accompanied with me a few weeks before the wedding in search for the perfect backup dress. With their assistance, the dress turned out perfect and my husband was saved from not seeing me turn into a bridezilla. They both worked great together and excellent communication. We wish we could have spent more time on the wedding day looking at the flowers, but after looking at the wedding pictures we can see how much detail and time went into the arrangements. Where do I even begin? If I could give 20 stars I would. I had the pleasure of meeting Ashley when she was still working for the San Diego Botanic Gardens, which was the first and only location my fiance and I looked at when we started the wedding planning process in the fall of 2013. Ashley was kind and knowledgeable and answered all of our questions as we toured the site. I have been a bridesmaid many times, and learned that a day of coordinator is a necessity for a stress free wedding. I asked Ashley for a referral and it just so happened that she was starting Coastyle Events with Jillian. I was sold. A few weeks later I met them in their Banker's Hill studio - utterly adorable by the way - for a consultation. I went in thinking that all I wanted was to book their day of coordination services, but by the end of our conversation, I knew I needed their vision to help me pull off all the ideas swimming around in my head. I booked the month of coordination package and could not be happier with my decision. Ashley was open to emails and questions I had before our wedding month arrived. I would shoot an email asking for her thoughts on timelines and contract terms for vendors I was working with. She was always incredibly helpful and gracious in our conversations. From the beginning, I had a clearer idea of how I wanted to day to feel, and was less sure about how I wanted it to look. Ashley was able to translate all my thoughts into an absolutely stunning day that felt like us. I didn't find out until the next day about a snag at the bar that could have led to us running through the alcohol we purchased before the end of our reception.
