Don't go to any instant oil change locations. The risk does not outweigh the ease of service. The prices are hiked and you're far more likely to get better service and diagnostics from full repair shops. It may be more time consuming - but speed isn't the best consideration when dealing with your vehicle. I didn't listen to that, my knowledge on cars wasn't the best. I went to Valvoline to get my oil changed back in April in hopes of getting my vehicle's oil changed driving by a few times. Had an amazing visit, met several people and left with a hug smile. From then on my vehicle was experiencing several issues and I didn't really know why, so I decided to visit them again as they instructed for some additional work on the car. Things were smooth enough, my issues still persisted but I just figured it might have been due to the colder months and left it at that. Little did I know that during one of my visits, they had accidentally lossened the transmission plug and resumed services without notifying me at all. When my car began shaking as if it was going to stall, I returned to the locations to have them look at it. They did their typical speed check and oil change... but when I prompted them about the sounds and damage I'd been hearing, they said the computer said the vehicle is in great condition so they didn't investigate further. Regardless of my car's noisy entrance and exit, nothing was done. I decided I'd get a second opinion at a nearby repair shop, but my car broke down halfway to the location. After having it towed and going back and forth, it was stated by the owner of the establishment as well as multiple mechanics that worked on this (with a signed document mind you.) That valvoline is responsible for the damages. The only piece missing was a picture of the loose drain plug, that the mechanic was negligent to provide. Valvoline throughout the entire process only directed me to the store manager and refused my case, going as far as to deny any further evidence I gave them since the case had been closed by the store manager. I went to the store directly to reach out to them and spoke to the employee that was managing my service, and he admitted to disregarding my question on my vehicle's status saying "he's not trained for that kind of situation." The store manager however was on vacation with no supervision left in his sted so there was no one for me to talk to in person about the situation either. I was stuck with a bill for buying a new transmission and after ANOTHER opinion they also stated the same information. "Happens all the time with instant oil change places, they mess something up moving too fast." Is what I was told by them. This time I had pictures and clear leakage from where the transmission plug was. I provided them pictures, tried to be easy to work with, was giving every bit of information I had but they refused to make up for their mistake. I had to threaten to involve the attorney general to even get a response from them, making a document describing the situation myself. Even after getting them involved they still denied the Attorney General, and have yet to reach out to me even after getting them involved. This place caused me a new transmission and extremely heartless when it comes to expressing any emotions towards the mistake they made, even refusing to provide me any evidence support how they did not do such damage, after bringing up there being videos of each time they worked on my vehicle. Not once did they say that footage supported their claim, nor did they give that footage to said attorneys general. So no, do not go to instant oil change places, and if they respond to this with a typical PR message, just know that - no they are not going to reach out to me at all about this experience. I was looking for a place that was convenient for oil changes. I have a busy schedule and due to Covid the concierge at my job cannot take my car (safety reasons) to get it done. I usually go to Bob Summerel on Ridge but you have to schedule an appointment and they were booked at the time. My Mr mentioned Valvoline. You drive up and don't have to get out of the car. Sounds like a good idea so thought I would give it a try. We get there and they are slammed, however the workers were moving fast and was taking safety precautions (wearing a mask and fully staffed). We probably only waited 20 minutes in line but once we are up, it only takes less than 15 minutes for the service. You pick three options (basic, advance, or maxlife high mileage). I opted for the middle-advance. There's three people working on your car. They do a full inspection. Refill your windshield wiper fluid, check your brake lights/front, tire pressure, air conditioning (if you request it), etc. My vehicle needed new brake lights so I replaced that for 13.00, I needed a new filter. They showed me and it was pretty dirty. I was good on windshield wipers. Overall the staff was on it and did a wonderful job. I will definitely start coming here to get my oil change. And you can't beat the price. Very reasonable. read more

Do not go to Valvoline! I went in for a routine oil change and they broke my oil check valve and refused to pay for the damages. Per the below, the language from Valvoline indicates they took care of it, but they did not. My claim was denied just because my car had 145,000 miles and they claimed it broke due to wear and tear. I went to the mechanic and the mechanic told Valvoline that it was broke by Valvoline and they still refused to do anything. read more

I just had the best experience at the Valvoline on Geier, Oakley location. I really appreciate Miracle and Hutch who worked on my car. I had purchased a Groupon not realizing it was the one for Kentucky. Miracle was personable and great customer service. When he realized this Groupon mix up, he advocated for me to still get and honor a discount. He was very clear with his team about good business and not making not me feel silly for the mix up, instead it made me feel like an easy mix up but at the end of the day good service- is good service. And that we are all just human. Hutch looked over the numbers and was friendly and professional with me too. They worked with the manager to get the service requested and honor my experience. They were efficient and insightful. I'll be back, thanks guys! I went for an oil change and after a very short wait was in and out for the quickest oil change I've ever gotten. Every single one of the guys in there were the nicest and patient workers I've ever encountered - even as a customer who had probably been waiting for a bay for only 5 minutes was yelling at them to bump them further up in line ahead of others. Unasked and unprompted, one of the techs even took the time to teach me a few things about my car that I didn't understand as he was working on it. 11/10 would definitely recommend read more

While there system is flawless in terms of get as many cars through as possible I waited 1.5 hrs in line and filled out all the paperwork and then once I finally got service they showed me the price...$92 for an oil change and air filter. Went in for an oil change and i purchased a new air filter also. When I started my car it began to stall, which it had never done before. I told the tech this and they began to try to sale me a fuel system cleaning and a new battery. Both were unrelated. I told them they had done something to make this happen. The check engine light came on. They again tried to sale me more products. I left and went to AutoZone and ran a diagnostic test. They had disconnected a vacuum hose and not reconnected it. It was a simple fix but highlighted the incompetence of the people working at this location. Wasted time at Tire discounters for a oil change so decided to come over here. I was greeted promptly by Joshua and Alex. Pros Quick and efficient. In and out in about 10 mins Cons Lack of professionalism - Alex was talking to a woman trainee who came towards the end of my oils change. Rather than handing back my keys and sending me on my way, I was to listen to mindless banter about lack of business there and training etc. Also pleas don't yank open the customers door without asking or at least warning first. Joshua thankfully did ask before opening my door but Alex did not. Lack of customer service - need to explain price points between conventional, synthetic blend and full synthetic. Absolutely had no information on costs at all as work was started and it wasn't on their website either. Price - really expensive for what you get. My full synthetic cost $93, used the $7 coupon and bumped it down to $86. I wish I was told options I had and the prices before the work started. Also the oil is in bulk and not in bottles. So, I'm not able to verify what I got. I could've ended up getting conventional bulk oil, so there's that. So for an oil change, pay excessively at Valvoline or pay $39.99 (full synthetic) at tire discounters but wait for hours -_- read more

I wanted to buy a Groupon, but didn't know the type of oil that my car needed. I called ahead to ask. They were very patient and helpful. I bought the Groupon, then went an hour later. Everyone there was professional, expedient, and friendly. They even informed me that the cover underneath my car protecting the engine had been zip-tied on at the last place I took my car to, which I was completely aware of.
