The last time I was there , Donovan's told me my car needed over 7K dollars of labor and that was over 18 months ago. I have gone somewhere more honest about my car and have put less than $2K in it and a set of pretty good tires and have taken two vacation trips of over 5 thousand miles between the two trip. Car runs great. My experience with Donovan's was so bad I will never come back and I tell everyone I know not to even consider Donovan's. I took my car to Donovan's in Blue Ash instead of taking it back to the dealership. It was the best thing to do. The service was fantastic. Chris waited on me, and he kept me totally informed on what was happening with my car. They also provided me with a loner car. Everyone there was really friendly. I will continue to go there for any repairs that need to be done. It was also reasonably priced. They saved my Thanksgiving, I couldn't be more appreciative. I drove into town for the holidays and my car was making terrible noises halfway through an 8 hour drive. Donovan's squeezed me in the day before Thanksgiving with no appointment, even though they were slammed, diagnosed my problem and got it taken care of. I was worried the timing of my problem meant I would be stranded until everything opened back up Monday, but they went the extra mile to get me back in the road on time. The past four months I've had issues with one of my tires and I went to Donavan's in Blue Ash and all they would do is fill air in my tire and told me I needed all new tires ..Chris and Shea Donovan told me that my tires were dry rotted ..so I decided to get a second and third opinion and I was told my tires are fine and they are not dry rotted, they look great. Donovan's is a trusted local business and we would take our vehicles to them for any cause (both Donovan's Express and the main location in Pleasant Ridge). When they discovered an additional issue right before they returned my vehicle, they did not charge for labor and even gave a discount on the part. When my AC recharge did not work the first time due to an underlying issue discovered later, they also did not charge for the failed AC recharge. The workers are always kind, patient, and explain issues thoroughly and carefully. They never act hurried or impatient, and when an issue arises on their end, they are apologetic and strive to make things right. Personally I like to do all of the work myself that I can. I can change my own brakes and suspension components. I change all of my own fluids including the coolant and transmission fluids. When my check engine light came on, I scanned it and it found an evaporative emissions leak. I cleared the code and the light came back on about a week later. I dropped the car off at the Kenwood location in Blue Ash. They found the problem the next day and everything has been fine since. They didn't try to sell me any fluid replacements, filter changes, or any other unnecessary service or repair. I am very grateful that I can trust this team with my car. Purchased new Audi to me had previously been serviced extensively at Donovan's had the vehicle pre purchase inspection at Dubwerx. Wanted to continue the service at Donovan's took it there based on Dubwerx recommendations for service. Donovan's wanted to do their own inspection i said okay. So i made an appointment. Dropped off car guys at counter very nice i asked if they had a loaner they said yes Kris another employee in an upset tone asked the other two "are we giving loaners for vehicle inspections??" In front of me making me feel uncomfortable. They cant get to my car Thursday needed it overnight (so i guess loaner was a nice idea Kris?)I agreed to the items they recommended as well as an oil change $800 worth of work picked it up Friday evening. Car sat in garage all weekend. Wife takes it to work notice oil on garage floor. Clean up oil figured maybe excess oil from oil change that was on engine. Wednesday wife takes car to work. Tire picks up oil and leaves slick spots on floor of garage just finished. She falls in garage on a slick spot. So i look and more oil under car. Jack it up and can see it's leaking at drain plug. Tried calling Donovan's always put on hold and once sent to Blue Ash. So i send a text with pictures over weekend. Kris contacts me today says car needs new oil pan. They will cover parts i cover labor. Over $450. I said i think it's the plug can we try that. He says we see this all the time threads on oil pan are compromised won't be plug. I said it wasn't leaking before I brought it to you i would have noticed on my finished garage floors and to boot both dubwerx's and their own inspection never spoke of oil leak. I ask Kris for help I can't spend $450 on an oil pan for a leak i didn't have before. He leaves it at $450 and i say but my car will always be leaking and low on oil. Nothing more offered from them. I go to Audi purchase plug and washer $7.20. Donovan's charged me $19.50 for their plug and washer. I drain oil change plug and washer put oil back in no leak. I took plug and gasket Donovan had used to Audi they said it would have always leaked with a flat washer and plug with a flat surround. I call kris at Donovan's he then claims he really wanted to change the plug. He didn't he wanted me to change oil pan. They used inferior parts never stood behind work and best part not even an apology. I will never recommend this company. They charged me $277 for an oil change. Audi is $250. Horrible experience and beware when they ask you to spend more money. I never wanted to have to drain my own oil and fix problems. However i did spend an hour and $40 total to figure out Donovan's was definitely not honest or fair to a new customer that was recommended to them by a very good commercial customer. read more

Donovan's Garage is a rare find. After being a customer at dealerships for many years, I finally got fed up with most of the focus being on trying to sell me things I didn't feel I needed, I decided to give Donovan a try. That was about two and a half years ago and since them have used them for routine maintenance. I have been very pleased with their service. Case in point, while parking in a lot, I went a little too far into the parking space and hit the concrete stop that damaged the engine splash shield causing it to hang down. I went to Donovan's to make an appointment to have it fixed expecting to have to wait for several days for them to be able to fit me in. I spoke to Wayne at the front desk and instead of having to wait for several days, he told me to go across the street to Donovan's oil change shop and they would most likely be able to fix it immediately. I went there, spoke to Jack, the technician, and he took a look at the damaged engine shield, told me it was only minor repair and said he could fix it as soon as he was finished changing the oil on the car he was working on. He did just that. He took the shield off, pounded out the dent then re-installed the shield to good as new. It took him about 15 minutes. When I asked what the cost would be he said "No charge"! I was delighted. I will continue to use Donovan's as long as I'm still driving. Great place to do business with. I highly recommend them. read more

Great business in my community! I recently had four tires installed with the best price in town! They were quick and friendly and right in time! My daughter gets her oil changes here and that put them on my radar. They have a nice waiting area, but instead of waiting, I walked five minutes to the shopping center(Lowe's) down the street. I've been coming to these guys for about 8 years now, I started with them as a result of an Angie's List referral. I meant to do a 5 star review last time I was there but got busy, they have earned the 5 star review in both of my last 2 trips and earlier ones too but my memory fades. I feel like I know a fair amount about cars and car repair. I do my research too because I like this stuff. This gets in the way of me liking most mechanics, I feel they they often tell a colored or incomplete truth. I have not had that experience with these guys yet in 8 years and probably 5 separate trips. Their diagnosis is spot on, the work is done within time and money range and after the repair, the car stays repaired. They are sensitive to costs and patient in explaining issues. The products they recommend/ install are excellent quality and exactly what I would pick after hours of careful consideration. In addition I had a situation where it wasn't quite right when I got it back, they relooked at it corrected it and gave the car back perfect- free of charge. They could have easily convinced me I had worn parts that needed to be replaced, they didn't. These are good trustworthy people who solve problems thoroughly and fairly. I'm glad I got to know them. If there was a zero, that's what I'd rate this company, as it's guys like these that give the automotive repair industry a bad name. There had been a noise coming from my passenger rear on my truck, and I needed a new parking brake installed. i brought it to these guys as I did not have the time to deal with it myself. 4-5 hrs after I had dropped it off, I received an estimate via text for a $1k repair. I drove up to see what the issue was. They had informed me that 2 lugs had mysteriously snapped.... Ok fine.... Then they try to tell me that every single lug on my tire had been cross-threaded and stripped every single stud, which I know for a fact was not the case, as I was the last one to put them on... not being my first time either. The estimate they had given me was to replace all of the hardware, parking brake, studs, and lugs (just the lugs we're $131!!). I drove the thing in on 3 lugs according to them, and drove it home on 2. I don't mean to paint the picture as they deliberately did damage to my vehicle, just sharing my experience here. Obviously being upset that my truck was in worse shape than when I had brought it in to them, I made it well known to them. In return I was met by the tech and Ed both essentially telling me to get f****d and that I was never to bring my business there again.... Gladly. You would think that you would call the customer to inform them after you had stripped 1 stud already and didn't want to damage anything further. That is not the case here, it's pretty evident to me that these boys were trying to pull a fast one and turn a minor job into a more profitable repair. Frustrating, given the holidays are right around the corner and I use my truck to earn my living. Big shout out to Ed at the front desk and my tech R Oberding. This is the only place that I will take my car. The people at Donovan's are so friendly and helpful, unlike a lot of auto places that know that they can take advantage of you. They're honest and their work is good, which is really all I need in an auto repair shop. My car was making a weird noise, so I called and scheduled an appointment for the following Wednesday. They have a very convenient night time or early bird drop off if you have to be at work during their opening hours. They called and gave me an honest assessment of my car and what I needed and what would be nice to have. They gave me all of the information that I needed to make the decision on what should be done to my car. Prices seemed very reasonable for the amount of work required. You know it seems right when you have an idea in your head of what the work will be and how much it will cost, and their estimate exactly matches what you thought it would be. No surprises here. Donovan's is the place to go! While I was getting an oil change at the dealership where I bought my car, I was one of my tires had a nail in it. They told me it couldn't be patched and I had to buy a new tire. This was definitely bad news since my car is only about a year old. The dealership pressured me to buy a new tire, but I went with my gut feeling and went to Donovan's to have it checked out. Turns out I didn't have a leak in any of my tires and the nail's actual location was not anywhere close to where the dealership said it was. I didn't even need my tire patched! I'll admit, when I saw this place had all five star reviews, I was skeptical. Who loves a shop that much? They can't be that great. I would say I even walked in the door TRYING to find things they do wrong, and I came up with nothing. So here's the deal: flat tire on a Sunday afternoon. Figured I'd need at least two new tires. Spent some time online, since it was a Sunday, looking up prices of tires and potential shops in the neighborhood. Called places Monday morning. One the phone: Donovan's prices were the same as larger well known places I called. They were clear on the phone that their price included everything-mount, balance, valve, removal. Wanting to keep it local, I gave Donovan's a shot. Donovan's was the only place, that on the phone noted the load rating on new tires would be different than the old tires, and explained what that would mean. In that conversation, I was told, "If we can't do it right, we won't do it." I then stopped by, Andy checked out my tires and talked about options-I asked about tires the other guys recommend, etc. He was willing to spend time and not be frustrated with my questions. He also checked the pressure in my spare before I left. Getting it done: They got the tires in the next day. The place was busy when I came in and the work was done in an hour. Less than the 90 minutes I was given as an estimate. They have wi-fi in the waiting area, which made up for their business hours matching my own. I set up shop and got work done-no problem. I like places like this where the waiting area shares space with the desk/staff. I feel like I can't be forgotten about, and I had the chance to observe the staff interact with the other customers-which can be telling in a place like this. Here's where they win: First of all, the pre-sale service-the patience and honesty in going through everything with me. I asked about alignment. Andy suggested I drive 1000 miles on the new tires, come in, and they'll check the wear pattern before I pay for an alignment. The tires come with free lifetime rotation. And the shop offers road hazard warranty for tires for $14/tire. I seem to get things stuck in tires often, so this seems like a reasonable investment. The techs also put my spare and jack and everything exactly where it belongs and put my trunk back in order. If I'm going to drop money on new tires, I'd like to keep it local and give it to people that do a good job. While it didn't lessen the blow to my wallet, I did walk out happy about where I spent my money. read more

Ok, let me first say that I've made some very poor decisions in my life regarding the purchase of a few vehicles. I've been victim of.. "Oooh it's pretty" and gave no regard to the numerous issues that could be going wrong with said vehicles under the hood or mechanically.. So in writing this review, I must say I've been to SEVERAL car places in the past few years looking for a good and reliable mechanic. Well, I think I've finally found the place. I sometimes think that having a lack of a certain male part and an addition to the chest area is sometimes not so fortunate in these matters of car ailments. I've seen first hand where some mechanics try to take advantage because "I's a gurl..and don't know nuffin bout cars, except that the shiny mirror inside is good for applyin lipstick..." Yeah.. well not this girl. I know enough to make me dangerous. When you've bought more than one junker in your life it makes you learn a little more about cars than you ever wanted to. Plus I'm a tomboy, and cars are cool. But back to the location at hand.. I called this place because I could hear the air coming out of my tire, which I've come to find is not a good noise. So I called around to see how much it'd cost to replace my valve stem. I got quotes for $45, $35, and finally a wonderful $10. I read reviews online about the places before I went and Donovan's was the place to go. I went in dropped my car off, and had a friend pick me up for lunch. By the time we ate and came back my car was ready to go. They fixed it for the price they quoted and they didn't tell me about the other problems that my car already has in order to fix them for an awfully high price. This place is very honest and straight forward. If you ask them about a fix for something else they'll look it up right there and give you a quote. Anytime I have a horrible case of the "ooh shiny's" and buy a car that's not so wonderful I'll be driving it to Donovan's for sure... or I could just buy a better car next time too I suppose... decisions, decisions... I just came from Donovan's where Kyle spent about 30 minutes working with me to figure out if I would need a tire patch or a replacement, answering all my probing questions about brand and cost differences, pricing it out, and he didn't even try to sell me a whole set. Said my other three were in good shape. I even asked what his opinion on a cheaper tire that was available at a different shop and he was honest in the fact that he would had no problem using that tire. This opinion ultimately cost him the sale because I needed the tire fixed today and he didn't have that tire on site whereas the other place did. WHen I lived in Cincinnati and bought my first car, after I moved from the parent's house I had no idea where to take mine to get it fixed. My friend and her family had been taking their cars to Donovan's forever, and recommended it. Well, its been over ten years, and I still would be taking my cars to Donovan's if I lived in the Cincinnati anymore. Let's put it this way....I live in Columbus. If my car had a serious, drastic repair that needed to be done....I'd be wanting to use my AAA membership to get the car towed to their garage! As a single female who is only vaguely familiar with cars and the repairing thereof, the place is beyond price. They do solid, quality work. Their turnaround time whenever I've had an emergency and something broke was fantastic, often it was the same day. You can trust them implicitly. Talked down to me and WAY over priced compared to other shops.

Donovan's is one of the few business that truly deserves higher than a five-star rating--if Yelp would let me give them extra credit, I would. I've been to Donovan's numerous times now. First, oil changes at their Express Center (located across the street) which is truly an EXPRESS center--the longest I've ever waited, along with several other cars, was less than 20 minutes. If you're in need of an oil change, go here. Reasonably priced with fantastic service. My car is older, so at various times an odd, persistent noise will surface. The first time I took my car to Donovans, they recommended a couple small part replacements and a new set of tires (which was badly needed and I've been very happy with). The second time, I had to have my trusty car towed to the shop on a weekend after it unexpectedly would not start. When I called Monday morning to talk to them, they told me that my car was one of TWELVE that had been towed there over the weekend that was not on the schedule, but they'd do their best and call me right back. Diagnosis was a new starter and they had it done by noon the next day! A new strange sound appeared recently and though I was not on their schedule, Dale (the owner), took time out of his day to sit in the car with me, listen to the noise, write some notes down and schedule me in the first open appointment they have. Dale and his staff are professionals who truly want to take care of their customers. I can't recommend Donovan's enough. read more

Donovan's Auto & Tire Center hosted The Greater Cincinnati Foundation Women's Fund Car Clinic, answering your questions about anything you needed to know about cars a few weeks ago. They featured three tracks of classes - New Drivers, Experienced and Mom's - all had a variety of sessions on safety, fluids, maintenance and tires. I learned more about taking care of vehicle in those few hours in my entire life. I have four year old Mazda, which needed some service and was looking for a local trustworthy shop for maintenance. I made an appointment because they can be quite busy and Dane Donovan took care of me when I arrived. They inspected my vehicle and I just needed a transmission flush - your transmission fluid should be pink, which I learned in the clinic, but mine was black. Keeping on top of your vehicle's fluids are the #1 maintenance you can perform to keep your car in top working order. Also since I have allergies my cabin air filter needed to be changed, this is an item which is now in newer cars, an air filter and should be changed once a year. All of this took just over two hours and cost under $200. Everything else was in order on my car, I appreciate their honesty. The dealership where I receive free oil changes told me recently my battery was dying and needed to be replaced, but I had Donovans check & they said it was fine. While I was waiting in the lobby they have free wi-fi, people did come in with last minute issues on their vehicles and they did take time to check out their cars on top of their already busy schedules. Repaired a worn out clutch on my VW CC in no time (2-3 days), and courteously worked with a difficult extended warranty company to cover most of the repair. I have spent way more money here than I would ever want to. But, that's not Donovan's fault. Donovan's has been great, trustworthy, and reliable. I've replaced tires, brakes, some expensive component of my car's AC, etc, and have no complaints. Their prices are reasonable and whoever I talk with always explains the work in detail when he calls with the estimate and is happy to answer any questions, even those "What do I really need to do right now?" questions. Knowing something about the mechanics of your automobile seems like a right of passage of manhood, but many of us have spent very little time under the hood. I don't feel belittled or taken advantage of by the folks here. This is the first auto mechanic where I would send my wife on her own. This year I had two tires blowout that had both been replaced less than a year earlier by Donovan's. They were still under warranty. One blew out when I was 800 miles away. I replaced it with a comparable tire and Donovan's reimbursed me when I returned from my trip. The other blew out in Cincy, and Donovan's replaced it no questions asked. It seems like every October, Donovan's provides free labor (and pads maybe) on your cars brakes. It's done in honor of breast cancer awareness. I'm not sure what the connection is between brakes and breast cancer (stop breast cancer??), but I've replaced the brake pads in different cars in different years, both times happened to be in October, and both times they were having this special event. I never like spending money on my car. It's great when your mechanic has a major sale on something you actually need. read more

I have taken my cars here ever since moving to Pleasant Ridge over five years ago. There have been several occasions when they checked into an issue for me and actually recommended not having an expensive repair done, or performed a quick-fix for no charge. Once, when I was driving an older car, they even sent me to another shop where I could get my issue fixed cheaper. They will never try to up-sell you on anything and they won't recommend unnecessary repairs. If you have questions they will answer them honestly, to the best of their ability. The only downside is that because of their great reputation in the community they can get busy, so you may have to schedule a repair a week or two out. And they are closed on weekends. read more

I can not recommend Donovan's enough!! I live out of town and came to Cincy to visit family. I noticed my brakes were making a terrible sound during my drive. The hours on yelp are wrong. They are not open on Saturday. I had been here once before for a simple task. They had seemed nice, so I planned to return with a more difficult problem. I looked on their hours on yelp and saw open on Saturday which is great. Not too many shops are open then. I make the 25 minute drive to get there at 8am and they are not open. This is the most simple part of customer service. Make sure your hours of business are correct. They lost a customer this morning. read more

I've been to Donovan's a couple times for tire problems. I am a college student from out of town and Donovan's was recommended to me by a professor. It is so refreshing to go to a place where customer service is clearly a top priority. The people are friendly, helpful, and most importantly honest. I don't know much about cars or tires for that matter, but I am confident they are telling me what I need to know. I trust that they would not overcharge me for unnecessary items or services. This place is amazing! I moved to Cincinnati for school and didn't know any places that could help me out with my car when I didn't know what was going on with it. My mom actually found this place and told me about it! After reading reviews I called and set up an appointment with Kyle. He was so nice and helpful.
