RUN. RUN FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. After my belongings were picked up, they were left sitting in a storage facility while the company searched for a truck to complete the move. Thankfully, I had placed three AirTags in different items, so I was able to track where everything was the entire time. Before you hire them, do yourself a favor and read their reviews on Yelp. Their rating is around 1.3 stars with over 130 reviews, and you'll see the same complaints repeated over and over: delayed deliveries, damaged belongings, poor communication, and pricing issues. Speaking of pricing, they use a classic bait-and-switch tactic. The final paperwork was presented after everything had already been loaded, leaving little room to dispute the charges. For the love of God (and mostly for the love of your belongings), do NOT use this moving company. They deserve negative stars. I would rather have personally carried each of my belongings on foot from Michigan to Massachusetts than have used this company (and it would have been faster, too). To keep things as concise as possible: this company found a way to scam and defraud us at every single step of the way. We were initially given a quote of $3200 for our move based on a VIDEO of our apartment. Despite having disposed of many many items between that video and the move itself, when the movers showed up (at 5:30pm on a Friday evening before the day I had to be entirely moved out), they itemized my belongings and told me I had "way more than estimated", ultimately demanding that the total cost was double the initially quoted price. When I saw the mover texting the person at Cobra who determines the cost of the move, I clearly saw that they had texted "Jackpot" in response to the price I had now agreed to pay (after much arguing). We felt we had no other choice but to allow them to pack up our belongings given that it was after work hours on a Friday night, and there was no ability to find another moving company in a short period of time. We were quoted a time frame of between 2-10 days to deliver our belongings. However, at the 10 day mark, the company then told us that this quote referred only to business days. Ultimately, despite demand letters and nearly daily phone calls, my belongings were not delivered (if you can even call it "delivered") until 34 DAYS after they were initially picked up. It took them OVER ONE MONTH to deliver my belongings. We lived in an empty house with one suitcase's worth of clothing for an entire month. The day before the movers arrived, they called to let me know that they did not think their semi-truck (which they had loaded my belongings onto after previously loading them onto a smaller truck) would not fit in my street (despite the initial movers confirming already based on our address that the truck would fit, and despite us having blocked off a massive portion of the street for them). They demanded over $1000 extra to move the items back onto a smaller truck again so that they could access our street. Ultimately, because I would rather pay my life's savings than pay these criminals any extra money, we rented a truck ourselves and had them unload my belongings from their truck onto our truck. We then moved all of our belongings into our home ourselves. Many of the items were damaged, and all of the boxes labeled FRAGILE were completely crushed, as there had been large furniture items stacked on top of them. This company really screws you. They have so many hidden fees and ways of digging more money out of you. First we were told about $2800 then more got added at pick up. They said storage would be 216 a month and then charged us 330 a month after the few months. Then we paid everything to get it out of storage and delivered and they added 150 fee as an office fee for the payment. Then they show up to deliver and we were told as long as theres an elevator there will be no charge. Then they tacked on another 150 for the distance from door of building to our unit. That they waived all those fees for pick up but not drop off. This company is fucking dirty and scammers. Try to blame every customer on these reviews I read. WORST COMPANY AND PEOPLE ON PLANET EARTH. if I could shut them down today I would. Me and my fiance moved from Indiana to Florida. They had our things for 3+ weeks. They told us our stuff would be delivered on July 18th. It is August 8th and we got our stuff two days ago. Everytime we called they were very vague and would not tell us any information on where our things were. after they had told us our stuff was not going to be there on the 18th due to having no drivers. They told us they would give us more than a 24 hour notice they gave us about a 8 hour notice both times. They told us our stuff was going to be there and then about two hours later told us there truck was broken and had no idea when they would be able to get the truck fixed or where our stuff was at or when we would be getting it. Eventually two days ago they showed up to our apartment. The owner gets out the truck and first thing out of his mouth is "really you're gonna make us walk up stairs". Well ya that's your fucking job. My fiance and the owner went upstairs to sign papers the owner then demanded 1600 more dollars then we had already given them to get our stuff off the truck. My fiance said no I legally only have to pay you the bill of lading and 15% of the extra stuff and you can bill us for the rest. As soon as my fiance said legally he said okay and packed up all there and stuff and left with all of our stuff. Video recorded us saying that we were refusing to pay. When we had already given them 2600$ and they were demanding an additional 1600$ to open the doors of the truck. After they left they took our stuff to a random storage unit two hours away from our apartment and demanded us to pay 1400$ to get the location of the storage unit and we did because at that point we just wanted our things. So in the end me and my fiance had to rent our own truck drive two hours to the storage get our stuff out drive an additional two hours home. And bring all of our own stuff up the stairs. I don't know how people like this can exist in this world. They put on the storage unit fee "refusal of delivery" when we were practically begging them to give us our stuff. We hired a broker to help with an interstate move of a little over 500 miles. The broker told us to expect delivery in 2-4 days--something that was also plainly stated in writing on its website. The broker assigned the job to Cobra Van Lines. That is when the nightmare began. The very short version of the story is that Cobra delivered our possessions 47 days after pickup. Throughout the wait, we were unable to get any meaningful updates from them or any sense of when delivery might occur. Cobra simply told us that delivery was not yet scheduled. Our experience is very similar to the other reviews I have now seen on Yelp. If you are considering hiring Cobra directly, I hope this review is helpful to you in making an informed choice. Cobra Van Lines was a terrible experience from start to finish. They arrived late for both pickup and delivery during our move from San Francisco to Chicago, and several of our belongings were stolen, lost, or damaged. One of the most shocking moments was when they delivered one of our tables with a "Se vende" (for sale) sign still attached -- clear evidence that our items were being sold. Many boxes had been opened, and my wife's jewelry was missing; the jewelry boxes were delivered, but the necklace and bracelet inside were gone. Their customer service representative, Andrea, was consistently rude, unresponsive for weeks at a time, and offered no solutions -- despite us paying nearly $5,000 for the move. We ended up with roughly $4,200 in losses, and Cobra offered only $500 due to a contract technicality that reimburses by weight rather than value. For example, a $500 TV they broke was valued at about $10. I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone. **46 Days Without My Belongings. Thousands of Dollars Spent. Do Not Hire These Companies.** Imagine this: after 22 years in public safety, you accept a new job in a new city. You're excited, nervous, and ready for a fresh start. Like most people, you hire a moving company expecting professionalism, honesty, and reliability. That was not my experience. I hired Amerisafe Van Lines and paid them $3,440 as a booking fee. The day before my move, I was told I needed to pay an additional $900 because my belongings would supposedly take up more space on the truck. This was despite the fact that my original quote included several major items, including a washer and dryer, Peloton, twin bed, and kitchen table with chairs that were no longer being moved.  What I didn't realize at the time was that Amerisafe was not actually moving my belongings. They subcontracted the move to Cobra Van Lines. When I tried contacting my original salesperson for answers, my calls and messages went unanswered. Customer service eventually informed me that my belongings would not be delivered within a few days of the move and explained that multiple households are loaded onto the same truck. I was told to pack essentials and be prepared to "sleep like I was camping." I was also told, "Lots of people are moving to Texas, so this won't take long." On moving day, I paid Cobra Van Lines $1,779. Both Cobra and Amerisafe representatives told me my belongings would be delivered within 3-7 business days. That never happened. I placed an AirTag with my belongings. After pickup, my possessions were taken to a storage facility in the same city I was moving from and remained there for weeks. Meanwhile, I relocated to Texas with nothing but a suitcase, toiletries, and supplies for my cats. Days turned into weeks. I called repeatedly for over a month. The answer was always the same: "We don't have a driver." Because I had no household belongings, I was forced to purchase necessities just to function and start my new job. I bought an air mattress, then eventually a bed and mattress because sleeping on an air mattress for weeks became unbearable. I purchased clothes that met my workplace dress code, dishes, silverware, a vacuum cleaner, blankets, pillows, rugs, chairs, cookware, and countless other basic necessities. The expenses continued to pile up while my belongings sat in storage. After weeks of receiving no meaningful updates, I began sending formal complaints and stern emails. Only then did communication improve. Amerisafe assured me one week that Cobra would deliver my belongings. They didn't. Cobra then emailed saying delivery would occur the following Monday or Tuesday. It didn't. Then Friday or Saturday. Again, it didn't happen. Eventually, after 46 days, I finally received notice that my belongings would arrive. The driver called me at 8:15 p.m. the night before delivery. Having just started a new job, I had to request time off almost immediately after being hired. Then came another surprise. The company that arrived to deliver my belongings wasn't Cobra Van Lines. Cobra had subcontracted the delivery to yet another company. The delivery crew informed me they had only been contacted the day before. What's even more frustrating is that Cobra had previously emailed me claiming my belongings had already been loaded and were on the way. That statement was simply not true. The AirTag location and the delivery crew's comments confirmed otherwise. When my belongings finally arrived, I paid another $1,300. Then I was informed there would be additional charges for elevator access and walking distance from the truck to my apartment. Another $375. Amerisafe refused to waive the fee, stating I had already received compensation. Ironically, the amount they had previously refunded was almost identical to the new fee I was now being charged. By the end of this ordeal, I had paid **$6,913.45** to moving companies alone--including tips given to movers and not including the thousands of dollars I spent replacing basic household necessities while waiting 46 days for my belongings. I wasn't paying moving companies to store my possessions for a month and a half while I rebuilt my life from scratch. I feel taken advantage of. I feel misled. I feel exhausted. We hired Vantage Movers to take care of our move from Rhode Island to New Jersey. We were never told that our move was being farmed out to Cobra Van Lines. Our delivery request was July 2, but as of July 13, we are still waiting for a call to give a date of delivery. We call both Vantage and Cobra but get the same response each time, they will call a day before delivery. We were also charged additional amount when they picked up our furniture due to extra space needed, even though we went over the items thoroughly for an exact count and size of our items with "quality assurance" guy named Tyler, who I've never been successful in reaching him again. I am in the middle of the claim and they said they have 3 months to respond when they broke my bed frame which is an expensive item. Items were never dropped off, almost all boxes were ripped and taped together and they tried to hide the fact that they broke my bed frame. In my opinion this is unacceptable and unprofessional when moving is one of the top 3 most stressful things to go through, based off of data. I was without my furniture for the entire 30 days when they verbally said they do not that it would take that long. I called for updates on my stuff and the customer service representatives were screening my calls as proven when I called via my second phone and got an immediate answer. When they arrived, they charged me an extra $500 which was only partially refunded because they couldn't figure out how to get the truck through the city and yelled at me when I tried to explain the route. They lost multiple items all of which I do not believe were looked for as every update I asked for it was a run of the mill "it's on our list." They were late on responding to my claims (no more than 120 days by law) when again they verbally say "it won't take that long!" And offered me $200 of the $3000 I claimed when they lost multiple items, not even trying to reconcile their issue. This was a cross-country move. We had no idea where our stuff was but man do they want their payment upfront. It was a horrible moving experience from NY to FL. A lot of my items were damaged or missing. On a Friday Afternoon they gave me 2 days to come up with $3000 to $4000 in cash which was impossible so they extorted another few hundreds more from me for using a credit card. They were holding my items hostage outside of my new house on a truck. Next, they tore the floor of my new house. The office manager was the nastiest person I have ever encountered in my life and hung up on me. Stay away from these people. All for the low price of about $15,000. I had a highly disappointing experience with Cobra Van Lines. The company did not adhere to the promised time window for pickup, arriving several hours later than initially scheduled. Once the movers began loading my items, I was informed by the driver that the load exceeded the initial estimate, resulting in an additional charge of nearly $800. When I questioned this unexpected increase, the driver explained that he could not assess the space requirements until after loading began. Upon reviewing the contract, I referenced the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration's regulations, which state that without a new binding estimate in writing, the original price should remain in effect. I informed him this would be a violation of federal regulations, especially since a third of my items had already been loaded. After some back-and-forth, the driver reduced the charges but claimed that fuel costs prevented any further reduction. Throughout this delay, Cobra Van Lines was unresponsive, failing to provide updates or return calls as promised. When I finally spoke to a customer service representative, Mercedes, she was unhelpful and dismissive, providing no satisfactory answers to basic inquiries, such as the company's ownership or licensing details. On 11/22, I received an email stating that my items would arrive on Sunday, 11/24, between 8-10 am, but that a shuttle service would be required at an additional $450. This was perplexing, as the original contract specified that a semi-truck could make the delivery, and my wife had confirmed this with the company. When the delivery day arrived, I waited for hours, only to receive a call around 3 pm from the driver, Gio, who informed me that his truck had broken down and that he would not be able to deliver until Wednesday. It was frustrating that this information wasn't provided earlier. When the delivery finally occurred, the truck was a 27-foot box truck--ample in size, clearly able to handle a semi-truck delivery. Additionally, my items, which had been packed in durable Home Depot bins, arrived in poor condition--scuffed, dirty, and with zip ties cut off, suggesting a lack of care during handling. Overall, Cobra Van Lines provided a poor service, with significant delays, unexpected charges, lack of communication, and mishandling of my belongings. I would not recommend this company based on my experience. They acknowledged the fraudulent charge for the shuttle service and agreed to refund it. However, due to the overall terrible service, I requested a full refund. Miranda in customer service promised to check with the owners, but I haven't heard back since 11/29, despite sending multiple follow-up emails to their main address. Worst moving company. Terrible all around. This was a subcontractor to a subcontractor. The first subcontractor said we didn't need to provide any money on the day of the move and then we found out on moving day that Cobra wanted money. The ones who packed took things out of my filing cabinet and left them in the house. Also, we had cleared out all closets prior to the movers coming to be ensure nothing would be forgotten. They put FIVE totes that were particularly heavy BACK INTO A CLOSET and shut the doors. We didn't notice it until after they left because we knew they were supposed to be empty. When we got our delivery confirmation, the driver wanted us to pay by only cash or postal money orders or Zelle. What kind of business is this? It's SO shady. I would NEVER trust giving cash in a situation like this. When we got our delivery, most of the guys didn't speak English and I had to show them where to put things. We are finding that they STILL didn't put things where they were supposed to go. I was especially aggravated when I found my filing cabinet left downstairs in the dining room when I specifically told the one guy who spoke English that it went in a room upstairs. Also, FRAGILE and THIS END UP means absolutely NOTHING to them. Our boxes were crushed and so many were put on dollies upside-down. When they were actually still asking where things went, they would take a stack of boxes and ask where they went, when I couldn't see any of the writing on them and seemed to get upset when I wanted to read the description written on the box. What moving company doesn't come prepared with knives/box cutters?? The movers were asking me for knives so they could unwrap the furniture that was wrapped. Why would they not have those, honestly? They were racing to get things into our garage and then stopped putting the boxes where we wanted them in the house and just left stacks and stacks of boxes in the garage. At the end they were rushing me to get everything signed so they could leave. Since unpacking, we have found multiple glass items broken, a tote is cracked, and they gave us someone else's step ladder and not ours. They also stole a whole bunch of holiday wrapping items as the top of my wrapping paper tote was empty upon arrival and it was full when they took it. Who steals tissue paper and bags?? They were so over priced and they did not treat our belongings with care AT ALL. Also, when they left, they left ALL OF THEIR GARBAGE and just threw it on our lawn - packing materials, their empty drink bottles. It was disgusting and beyond unprofessional. We told them to leave & we would rent a truck & move our stuff ourselves. When Gio realized we were not falling for his sickening attempt to extort us he honored the original estimate from Amerisafe, After loading, the foreman, Gio, said our load was 2450 cu.ft. Yet, Gio listed 3001 cubic ft on the bill of lading (BOL), claiming it had to match the broker's estimate & that we would need to get the difference from the broker, Amerisafe. This was a lie to get my husband to sign the bill of lading. When we contacted Amerisafe, they said he shouldn't have signed it & they couldn't help me. Adding insult to injury, supposedly when Gio was asked by his company if he ever told me the actual cubic ft was 2450, he lied through his teeth & said he never mentioned that figure. How would we have even known the actual cu. ft w/out him telling us? Cobra could be lying too & never even asked him, no way to know. Upon arrival @ my new home, we discovered the movers were random people hired from Craigslist who had no moving experience per the workers. They dropped & dragged boxes across the hardwood floors & tried to hide damage to furniture that they caused. Despite the hot day, they came w/out water/food, we provided a case of water & bought them Subway. The only actual employee of Cobra, the driver, stayed in the truck unloading & did not supervise. They assured us they could move a 900 lb safe before we contracted w/them, but lacked proper equipment & skills. They destroyed 2 of our furniture carts in addition to 1 of their carts & a dolly trying to move it. After a near fatal accident, the driver agreed to leave it in my garage & have the moving company pay to have it properly placed, Cobra later claimed they had completed the job & refused to pay for professional movers to place the safe where we intended it to go. It's currently sitting right in front of my garage door & we cannot park in the garage. Why would we have had them place it there of all places if they hadn't told us that they were going to have it moved?! Another example of the lies that spew from their mouthes. They also failed to reassemble any furniture or remove tape & moving pads from my property, which they were contracted for & is clearly stated in the contract. They damaged a dresser, concealing it until after they left. This experience was not just disappointing; it was an example of gross negligence. The company's decision to hire untrained, unprofessional, unvetted individuals off of Craigslist, who showed up high, smelling of marijuana & were entirely unfit for the job, is inexcusable. The lack of proper equipment, moving experience & supervision led to significant damage to my property & put us & their own workers at risk. The movers' reckless & negligent behavior & the company's refusal to take responsibility highlight a serious neglect of duty & disregard for customer safety & property. When we contacted the broker Amerisafe, they told me we did everything right except signing the BOL. Despite having phone records proving that I tried to call them & that they didn't answer nor return my calls, they said they couldn't help me. Cobra offered to review a claim w/compensation @ .60¢ /lb. Upon reading reviews, we are positive that this will go to arbitration or litigation. This review is to warn anyone considering using Cobra Van Lines or Amerisafe, RUNNN!! The company is deceitful & unprofessional. If I had known about Cobras reputation, we would never have contracted with them, so take that into account when using a broker like Amerisafe because you have no choice in who they subcontract with to move your belongings. They will break your stuff and try to extort money from you & steal your money at a time when you are at your most vulnerable. Contract w/a moving company yourself & read plenty of reviews, getting everything discussed in writing no matter what & refuse to sign anything until it is written on the contract & signed by an employee of the company & be sure to have a backup plan in case they show up to move you & begin demanding more money like these guys did us & numerous others according to reviews. Luckily for us, we didn't fall into their extortion tactics like many others have and had a backup plan. There should be a class action suite brought against them & prevent them from ever running any business ever again. I love how they put a tidbit in their contract that states that a class action suit can't be brought against them which is another lie. The guys of Cobra Van Lines was extremely professional and very friendly. They worked quickly and efficiently in order to minimize the cost. Also maximized the size of the truck in order to move majority of our house in one trip with extremely little damage (NOTE: there will ALWAYS be the smallest scratch or something, and these guys did a fantastic job of minimizing). They are not legally allowed to transport household goods!! Please do your research under the FMCSA and don't use them. Do NOT Trust These Companies. This Was A Complete Scam. I want to make it clear that I cannot, in good conscience, recommend any of the companies involved in this scheme. Vantage Movers hired Cobra Van Lines Moving Systems (which operates under Cobra Vanlines LLC) -- a company that, according to FMCSA regulations, is not permitted to transport household goods. To make matters worse, Cobra Van Lines then subcontracted the move to USA Van Lines & another unknown company. This whole operation felt like nothing short of a pyramid scheme. Unprofessionalism, Deceptive Fees, & Hostile Behavior From the start, I was misled. The quoted price was nowhere near the final price, as they continued to add fabricated fees at every turn. Oscar from USA Van Lines was aggressive & hostile throughout the process. He invented new charges that weren't even in the original contract and kept repeating, "I have to take care of him" -- referring to himself, not me, as he carelessly damaged my property. He even forced me to write a glowing review of his "great service" while my belongings were literally in the truck --manipulation. Weeks of Silence, Damaged & Stolen Property After everything went wrong, Cobra completely ignored my attempts to get answers for a week. Only when I added Vantage Movers & my financial advisor to the email thread did they finally respond. Meanwhile, my items were kept in storage for over 3 weeks. Miranda from Cobra offered no details, only stating that, "Legally, they don't have to deliver within 30 business days." So that's exactly what they did. When my belongings were finally delivered, the movers rolled fragile boxes up the stairs (despite me paying an extra $300 for the stairs). Nearly everything was damaged, & the furniture wasn't even put back together properly -- because USA Van Lines wasn't supposed to disassemble it in the first place. They were so sloppy, they lost the pieces entirely, & the movers I hired later couldn't even assemble the furniture. This was a total violation of what I paid for. Stolen Items & Irreplaceable Sentimental Loss To make matters even worse, many of my items are missing, & the ones that were delivered were robbed of anything valuable or sentimental. My family heirlooms stolen, including a necklace of Jesus, my grandmother's Japanese Buddha statues, & the few items I had of my mother's. It's clear my belongings were systematically gone through, & whatever was of worth -- emotionally or financially -- disappeared. They even folded my bed in half, causing permanent damage. I now suffer from neck & back pain due to poor handling of my mattress. I received a box that was entirely empty except for packing material -- the whole thing had been stripped clean. Every single box that arrived had been tampered with, and I'm sure the reason they kept my belongings in storage for so long was to give them time to ransack my things. No Accountability, No Care I've filed complaints with FMCSA, the BBB, and the police. I am seeking legal action, and I will not stop until justice is served. These companies are engaging in criminal activity, and no one involved is taking responsibility for their part in this. They won't even tell the police where the storage facility is located. They think they can avoid responsibility by playing games and delaying any action. Moreover, they refuse to "start looking" for my missing items unless I list everything that's gone. The contract states I can only submit one list -- but in the meantime, they are doing nothing. It's as if they want me to remember every item they've stolen, while they sit back and ignore my situation and expect it to just "go away." They have stolen from me, & they will steal from you too. They also refuse to provide any refund. If anyone has leads on legal counsel or resources that could help with this case, please reach out. I would literally give a -5 star rating if it was a possibility. I sincerely hope that my review will spark some attention and I will be contacted by a lawyer to help file a class action lawsuit because I think that this is happened to a lot of people. So, I begin. I googled a moving company and called around to a few of them. I got a hold of a place called nationwide moving. They bid me for about half of what my move cost me total. I paid $3000 for the deposit. I told them that I had a 10 x 20 storage unit and two motorcycles. When you Google a public storage 10 x 20 storage unit it is an absolute measurement of cubic feet. Not an estimate, but an exact number. So, the day of the move comes and instead of the original estimate of 1600 ft.³, the movers told me that it would be 2600 ft.³. So I end up shelling out double what I was quoted. Because at this point, I needed to move and if I would have canceled, the broker that I initially called would keep my $3000. I would forfeit that money. It's in the fine print on the receipt that they sent me. Let's talk about cobra: I waited almost 2 months to get my stuff. In the contract, it says that they have 30 business days but it should be a lot sooner than that. When the 30 day business window closed I called and they told me it was going to be $15 per day after 30 business days. After some reading of the contract I saw that it said $30 per day. So when the mover finally showed up, I called to get the remaining balance adjusted. They kept trying to tell me it was $15 per day, after I told him I'm reading the contract, they put me on hold for about 10 minutes and then they were severely disappointed taking that money off. The driver: As soon as he got out of the truck, he started demanding money. In my right hand I was holding money orders from the post office that totaled $5200. I asked him if I could see my stuff, not unload it, just see my stuff before I agreed to pay him. I had two Harley Davison motorcycles in that truck and doing some reading about the reviews of this company I was a little nervous and I wanted to visually confirm that they were in the truck. This driver started screaming at me telling me that he's not going to do anything until he gets paid. He was standing in my yard, screaming at me. I didn't take too kindly to this and I began screaming back at him. He placed an ad on craigslist to have laborers come out and help unload the truck. If so, random strangers showing up to my house, not affiliated with the company whatsoever, no way to confirm what type of people they are, but that is OK in the eyes of cobra. I walked away from the driver because I did not want to get in any kind of physical confrontation. My wife went to him and after several minutes of talking he agreed to open the truck. He opened the back doors first. There was literally broken stuff everywhere. My stuff. There was 5 foot of space between the back doors and where my stuff was, but they failed to secure the load and it all came crashing down to the ground when he was traveling. Everything was completely destroyed. I didn't see my bikes. So, I told him to open the side door and he began yelling again. (He was given the money orders by this time, he was paid) But again my wife convinced him to open the side door. When he first open the door my heart dropped. There was my motorcycle under DRESSERS, boxes, furniture!!!! I couldn't even see my other bike. Now mind you, I paid double because of the motorcycles. Which I understood, they take up more cubic feet since nothing can be stacked on top of them. But they obviously didn't get that memo. They decided to stack everything on top of them.. Finally after getting stuff moved around, I told all of the movers to leave the mattress where it was and unload the rest because that mattress showed where my stuff ended. Was not a stress free move. The customer service number sometimes was rude. Everytime I called for a status the story why my furniture was not delivered. I was in an empty apartment for 25 days, sleeping on the floor and unable to prepare meals. When unpacking 7 items were broken. The movers that picked up handled with care. However, they put my things in storage and then picked it up. I wasn't there to witness if they just threw my boxes. When I called to explain that items were broken they hung up on me. We went through Safe Ship to coordinate our move from New Orleans to Oregon. Safe Ship contracted with Cobra Van Lines and that's where it all went terribly wrong. I don't even know how to stress enough that you should not use Cobra Van Lines. The driver did his best to try to exhort additional money from us stating that the gradual steps to our front door were unsafe for his Craigslist hired team. He threatened to not leave our belongings, and charge us for storing them an additional day(s). We were told if one of the team got injured we were willing to pay their medical bills. His three hired people also asked us repeatedly for more money. The one man told us that the driver wasn't paying them enough. That 'the driver told them to ask us'. The experience was surreal, intimidating, and scary. Our furniture was damaged, wood floors in the house scraped, a wrought iron 98 year old gate at the front of the house broken; Jewelry, power tools, and more were stolen. Countless items broken. We've moved 11 times and this was by far the worst experience we've ever experienced. Please save yourself the pain, the distress, and the money wasted and do not hire Cobra Van Lines. Ask any company such as Simply Safe if they contract with Cobra. I've spent 3 months trying to get some type resolution. No one deserves to be treated like we were. read more

Damaged a shelving unit and my cat tree. The process to put in a claim is ridiculous and they make it very hard. If I packed it they don't cover it! I packed my belongings well! They tossed my belongings off the truck like it was nothing! Tried to charge me 75 bucks for my one flight of steps which was suppose to be free. Had to argue with the driver. He was rude and had hired some other guy to unload my stuff who was complaining about him the whole time! I felt unsafe with these two men in my home. Everything went smoothly until they packed my things and told me they would arrive at my new home in 5-7 days. When I later reviewed my documents I saw that they gave themselves a full MONTH to complete delivery. My repeated calls did nothing to expedite delivery. Now I'm one full week past their month delivery window and I have heard nothing. I'm beginning to think I'll never see my belongings again. I will file a claim for things I've had to replace just to get by, and my next step is legal action to recover my belongings. Zero stars if I could. This company is a bunch of thugs. From Colorado to California they doubled the estimate, they used a shuttle service from my home that treated my goods like throwaways, they missed the delivery date in CA by 10 days, but wouldn't tell me when they'd deliver until I was called by the driver at the last minute that he was going to deliver in 16 hours and I HAD to adhere to his time and had to pay cash or he'd put everything in storage (and charge me). His demanded early (7AM) delivery didn't happen. When I called to find out where he was he said, "Oh, I'm running 2-3 hours late." Never bothered to call me or the people who had to get up at 6AM to assist me. The driver finally got close and said his truck wouldn't make it up the hill (even though a similar truck had made it up the same hill the day before) and that I had to hire his shuttle service (an additional $1,000) or he'd put it in storage until I did (charging me for every day). Without the aid of my community I'd still be waiting for my things. And of course, multiple items--some unreplaceable--were broken or bent so badly they couldn't be fixed. I have moved many times and NEVER had a bad moving company; COBRA VAN LINES are awful in every way! Want to make moving even more horrendous than it already is? Hire these crooks. I gave them a one-star, ONLY because I could not rate them LOWER. I contracted with AmeriSafe (THAT is a euphamism) to move me from MA to VA. THEY subcontracted with Cobra Van Lines (real vipors). Cobra Van Lines DESTROYED 2 China Cabinets ... One of them is an antique, semicircular china cabinet that is worth over $1200. The MOST they will pay me for destroying it is $60 dollars ($0.60 per pound). The movers ripped off the back legs of the cabinet and used sheetrock screws to fasten them back on (I caught them doing that on the back of the moving van.). My things were picked up from Denver, Colorado on February 25th for a relocation to North Carolina. It is now April 4th and I have not received any of my furniture. They state that there's a 30-day window from the first move-in date. I called this morning and they stated my stuff was still in a warehouse in Denver and not anywhere close to North Carolina. For the money that I paid this is horrible service, I've been sleeping on an air mattress with none of my furniture for a month! This is horrible customer service and I don't know why it's taking so long. Don't give me an excuse that you have multiple movers when my stuff should have been in North Carolina weeks ago! read more
