Where our waiters thumb met our mustard. He said nothing, looked at his thumb, then walked away after placing it down infront of us.

This place is on par with airplane food. To start, I ordered the Le Jardin mocktail, which I could not drink and tasted a bit like glass cleaner. Next arrived the bread, which was very similar to that of bread served in an airplane meal service. The butter was also prepackaged. The charcuterie, as attached, was depressing and disarrayed. Not to mention that a waiter stuck his thumb in the mustard on it, looked at his hand with the mustard on it, and then proceeded to place it down and walk away. Nice! I ordered the mushroom pasta with peas and almonds as my main course. Covered in oil. Nauseatingly so. I couldn't finish that either. Thankfully our waitress was nice and checked up on us, but other than that my experience here was less than pleasant.

Delicious breakfast!! Love that food is customizable to your liking. For those who love options like me this is so ideal. Service was excellent and the ambiance bright and cheery. Nothing can beat this place for breakfast. I highly recommend it.

    House omelet and breakfast poutine

It's tough finding a good breakfast restaurant on a busy, touristed stretch, but this one is great, despite being a local chain. We ate inside during a heatwave but the street patio looked enticing. It can get busy and a bit slow but service was pleasant. Portions were huge so maybe I shouldn't have upgraded my home fries to "breakfast poutine" (hollandase sauce)? Nope, it was delicious. Decent prices for the area and coffee included.

A chain that specializes in French Canadian. We ordered the set menu though I wished I had done the separate a la carte menu since I did not think their main entrees on that set was that great. The appetizers were good, desserts good, but wished I had called say the baby back ribs and maybe the seafood pie (pot en pot). Good for large groups. Relatively efficient staff since they are a chain. Appetizers: Blood pudding is worth a try if you are down for a more gamey tasting beef stew wrapped in a fried ball. It's essentially pork/beef blood coagulated and then stewed in a beef stew. if you can put mind over matter and enjoy the flavor, then you'd be ok. I thought their "New England" clam chowder was not bad. Coming from New England though I would not call this a classic New England Chowder since they had carrots and corn in here which I don't commonly see. Very generous in clams though, so I would recommend this again purely for taste Entree: This is where I was not too excited. I ordered the haddock/shrimp on top of pesto pasta with their side of onions and peppers. this dish was just not too exciting. I think if they had made it more of a tangy tomato paste pasta it wouldn't need so many elements on one plate, none of which really much contribution. Just too many boring flavors on one plate. I would rather they just stick to putting good seafood on better pasta dressing than have one side of plate with a sauce and the other side with onion/peppers. An odd combo. We also ordered the pot en feu. Also not a very exciting dish unfortunately. Imagine someone took meats, root veggies, Brussel sprouts, beans and stewed it minus any fat. They made the broth super concentrated so that the veggies are now just salty without much flavor- the broth just lacks dimension. The meats also stewed to where they are somewhat dry and not very exciting. This was a struggle to finish. Not exciting, salty and felt like yo were chewing remnants in your mouth at the bottom of someone's stock they made but the stock was sold to the store and you are eating the pot bottom. Dessert: Can't go wrong with French desserts- at least these didn't disappoint. we were quite full however. I think the chocolate mousse cake w/ raspberry (brightened the dessert) paired better than the creme brûlée that felt too heavy after a series of boring flavors. Peak hours are around 7 so get ready for a crowded experience. I would not come back here again unless I rand out of restaurants here in Quebec. I think if you had a choice I would try the other local non chain French Canadian restaurants instead.

Great place for breakfast. Big selection of unique breakfast items. Breakfast grilled cheese with bacon jam and home fries was delicious. Breakfast poutine looked amazing and was fresh and loaded with toppings. We sat at the bar because all tables full. Service was quick and friendly and we got to watch the bartenders work their magic making all kinds of crazy cocktails from mimosas to drinks loaded up and glasses lined with Nutella. All in all a great experience!!!

The best food we ever had while visiting Quebec since the food was better than expected especially the black pudding. The maple pouding chomeur (bacon bread pudding) was a delicious way to end the meal and also worth getting again. Overall, the restaurant is so good to the point that is worth going again.

They have breakfast poutine here and it was delicious! Price is reasonable in a high traffic tourist area and service is great. I got the Charlevoix plate which has waffles, fruits, and maple cream on one side and eggs, spinach, and cheese on the other. A great dish if you want a bit of both savory and sweet. Hubby got the Lac Saint Jean Omelette and upgraded the potatoes to the breakfast poutine which was an excellent choice. All their breakfast entrees also come with coffee, au lait or cappuccino. This Parisian bistro is a great start to your sightseeing morning.

10/10 review for this restaurant! Everything we had delicious. Can't recommend this restaurant enough! We had the Steak frites and Grilled cheese with poutine. The kids meals were great- starter, entree, and dessert (cookies). The soup of the day (tomato soup) and bacon wrapped sausages were a hit with the kids. The spaghetti bolognese and cheeseburger were also a big hit with our kids. Can't wait to come back on our next trip!

Duck confit Benedict with toast and apple butter

This is a really great family-friendly place for breakfast or brunch. Extensive menu with a diversity of sweet and savory options. The servers were very helpful and patient with our large group and our small kids in tow. The restaurant is spacious, clean, bright and well-situated on a busy pedestrian street. The brunch portions were all pretty big and all pretty good. The cappuccino with maple syrup was unique to me, so simple yet so sweet, something I might have to adopt back in the U.S. with my drinks. lol I enjoyed the duck confit benedict with toast and apple butter. The apple butter was excellent! My sister liked her sweet and savory country duo of scrambled eggs tartine, mushroom, bacon and hollandaise sauce; crepe with caramelized apples, cheese mix and maple cream.

Food so good we came here twice on our trip to Quebec City. We loved the eggs Benedict, the fried chicken, the coffee, the baguette with apple jam, the waffle, the cookies, the bacon wrapped sausages, and the kids meals! The staff were all very welcoming and friendly. Definitely a place I'd recommend and come back to.

    French onion soup

We were seated right away on a cold Saturday night in Feb 2025. The waiter spoke a little English and we spoke a little (bad) French so struggled to order. French onion soup lacked a bold onion flavor but was nice and cheesy. The trio appetizer was full of flavors. Not used to the pork belly here. It's really salty and almost like a ham steak (if you're from the States). Then there was the elusive pork chop. It arrived FIFTY MINUTES after our appetizers and not cooked consistently throughout. Part of it was pink/almost raw, and other parts of it were white. It was "warm" and the sweet potato mash seemed to have been sitting there a while. The waiter apologized for the wait, but offered no discount or compensation for the poor service. He didn't offer an explanation or even asked how the meal was. We even left a big pink piece of pork on the plate that was never addressed. We also ordered a dessert to-go and were not offered a discount. We did not express any rudeness or dissatisfaction during our meal. Good luck and/or enjoy.

Situated right by the entrance of old town Quebec along Rue St Jean, Cochon Dingue is unmissable and frankly a good Segway entering the town. Its interior is large and well maintained with a beautiful patio. We came here on breakfast our first day and sat right by the open patio. Beautiful day and weather to accompany the great food We each got a brunch plate that came with complimentary coffee. We were served a free smoothie shot as well. Both plates (sweet and savory) were satisfying. Minor misses (eg the apple crepe with cheese was a little oily but overall a great experience.

great place for families as recommended by our hotel staff. the service was very friendly and patient with us english speaking visitors. everything we had was delicious from the fried chicken, burger, coleslaw, and Caesar salad. the bathrooms here are modern, on the second floor, lots of clean stalls (unisex) and common wash area.
