I recently brought my stepmother's 2016 Chevrolet Equinox in because her Tire warning had been on the dashboard for some time. I tried filling each tire with air and only 1 tire would not hold the maximum pressure. After making an appointment with Alex, I dropped the car off so that he could take a look at it. What he discovered was that 2 of the tire sensors needed replacing. He couldn't find any place where the tire was damaged in any way. But, to be sure, he checked it a couple of times and what he found was correct. He gave me the estimate and I gave him the go ahead to do the work. He mentioned that he would contact me when the car was ready. Sure enough, he called to tell me that the car was ready and gave me the final cost for the repair. I went later that afternoon to pick up the car and returned it to my stepmother. She was elated! I was relieved! I enjoyed driving the car back to her as it was a smooth and quite comfortable ride. I have taken both of my cars (Nissan Pathfinder & Audi A4) to Cochran Automotive and have never been disappointed with their service. They performed thorough analysis on my Audi A4 when it stopped running. In fact they went above and beyond to determine the problem which involved a few oil changes to make sure everything was working correctly. I was never charged for the oil changes, and the price was reasonable for the fix. Two experiences with them so far. First was for the basic oil, filters, and once over. Job was done quickly and very well. Second was when car had a mechanical issue and I brought it in to get looked at with intent to repair. I called, walked in 30 mins later, and they immediately got to diagnosing. 15 mins after that I walked out since I was lucky enough to only need a hose clamp to fix the problem. No charge for the service I got to repair. These guys are not only professional, but incredibly nice, good conversationalist, and seem to actually give a hoot about their customer. No questions in mind on "am I getting bamboozled" or "should I trust them?" I absolutely trust them. As long as I live in this area, I'll be going back to them for my car needa. Cochran Automotive is the place to go if you're having any type of car trouble. I brought my aunt's 20111 Cadillac in because the battery was on the verge of giving out. That was only a part of the car issues! When I received a call from Nick to let me know of other issues that needed to be addressed, I listened. While it wasn't music to my ears, it was what I needed to know to get her car back to running smoothly! I gave them the okay. Later that afternoon, I was called to let me know that the car was ready for pick up. Everything was as promised: new battery, signal lights replaced, and brakes all worked fine. Everybody at Cochran is exceptional! My SUV broke down in the middle lane of 270 N on a Friday around 5:30. One of the mechanics saw I was broke down and circled back to see if I needed help. I had already called AAA, but the fact that he took the time to stop overwhelmed me. In the midst of a snow storm my wiper came off, I called Cochrans and they had my wiper replaced and I was back in the road in minutes. Incrediby Honest! I am new to this area and was in need of some car maintenance. Took my car in because it was shuddering at low speeds. Cochran Auto not only found the problem but also the solution: it was a known transmission issue by Honda with a service bulletin that said Honda would fix it. I was able to print out the service bulletin and take the car to the dealership and get the repairs for free! Cochran did not charge me for the diagnosis (Unheard of) They could have easily not searched for and found the service bulletin and could have told me I needed the transmission fluid changed and done the work. In this day and age where most people write about being swindled or about dishonest auto shops, I am thrilled to give Chochran Auto 5 stars for their honesty and professionalism and give them my future business. read more

I took my car in for a MD inspection, and Cochran told me at first that my front ball joints failed. When I called back, they then told me both control arms needed replaced an estimated cost of $1,000. I then took my car to a mechanic that I've trusted for over 10 years, and he told me that there weren't any issues with my ball joints or control arms. Took my '05 Magnum in for an Alignment, a tie rod end had been replaced previously, no appt needed, i had called the day before & spoke to Nick. Rolled in around 12:30.. car need a 4wheel alignment. no surprise there.. I had an issue with my car not starting and dealt with Nick the whole time. He said that it was the throttle body being too dirty (something I've never dealt with in 20 years of owning cars) so they cleaned it and said the car was fine. It wasn't. Brought it back a week later, Nick said the car started fine for them and they kept the car for almost an entire day and literally did nothing with it. Didn't try anything, didn't test anything, just let my car sit in the lot. One thing they did do was smoke inside my car, because it smelled like an ashtray when I got it back. I took it to a dealership after this and they figured out what was wrong and fixed it right away. Really disappointed, since I brought the car here based on such good reviews. read more

As a woman, it can be hard to find an automotive place that isn't intimidating or that won't try to take you for a ride (so to speak), but the guys at Cochran are friendly, knowledgeable, and totally fair. You get what you pay for and then some. The thoroughness and quality of their work is beyond reproach! If I need something, they tell me and explain it without making me feel like an idiot, and if I can wait on a repair or may need something later, they tell me that too.
