I would strongly advise against using this company. Last April 2025, we had our A/C unit replaced by them for nearly $9,000--a hefty investment that I now question if a replacement was even necessary, especially after reading some of the other reviews on here, but that's a separate issue. Despite having a brand-new system, by fall 2025, the unit was heating our home improperly. They came out and "fixed" it, but the problems didn't end there. Fast forward to two weeks ago during the ice storm in Gwinnett--the coldest weekend of the winter so far--and we were left without heat downstairs. I called Cochran around Wednesday, knowing even colder weather and snow were forecasted for the weekend. The female customer service representative was pleasant and promptly scheduled a technician visit for Friday, January 30th. The technician diagnosed the problem as an incompatible thermostat. He replaced the downstairs thermostat with a Honeywell Home Focus Pro P200 and charged me $397 for the unit. After installation, the heat seemed to be working. I also purchased their maintenance membership plan for $89, which includes two service visits per year. So, I ended up paying nearly $500 for this service call. Here's the kicker: that thermostat, which they charged me nearly $400 for, can be purchased online for about $59. And despite this costly replacement, the heat still didn't work because the unit had been installed incorrectly. When they came back out to fix or properly configure it, they still charged me $40 for the visit--even though both the maintenance technician and the owner/manager admitted it was their fault. The last technician who came out was very nice, professional, and explained everything throughout the process. He told us the problem wasn't the thermostat but that the unit had been installed incorrectly. To be honest, he seemed very trustworthy. Yet, shortly afterward, the manager told me the technician was wrong and insisted that the thermostat was the problem--but just configured incorrectly. With these conflicting explanations, I have no idea what to believe. What I do know is that they took my money, charged us for the service call, and left us without heat for an entire weekend during subfreezing temperatures. When I spoke with the manager, he did apologize, but there was absolutely no attempt to offer any discount or refund for the inconvenience and poor service. This company's service is not only unreliable but also unethical. They show no accountability for their mistakes and treat customers unfairly by charging for repairs and visits caused by their own errors. Save yourself the frustration, expense, and risk--do not trust this company with your HVAC needs. As a homeowner in this economy, and with how hard I work for our money, it's unfortunate to have to deal with businesses that lack integrity. read more

Be very carful of this company out of Dallas, GA. They charged my credit card August 2023 without notice, invoice or doing any work since October of 2022. We purchased an AC unit in 2019 based on their advertisements and the BBB rating. After October 2022 they didn't hold up their warranty obligations. The bookkeeping department is a mess and the owner has no follow through. After three calls to the company and not being able to get the charge credited I disputed the charge with Bank of America. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY I had used them twice with no issue, but then had an incredibly bad experience after that. In late May, they came to inspect my rental property's A/C unit, as it wasn't working properly. They came and said it could have a leak, injected dye, and said they'd come check it in a couple weeks. They scheduled the dye check for June 18th. The 18th came and went with no one coming back or calling. Then a leak spot started to appear in the ceiling. After contacting them, I finally got them to come back out a couple weeks later. They then said the coil was completely rusted out and needed to be replaced. I gave them the go-ahead to do this. Fast forward 2 more weeks later and still nothing had been done. I contacted them to see what was going on and they had not even ordered the R22 coil that was needed. Finally after calling them repeatedly, they ordered the part and setup to come back a few days later to install. By this time, the leak had gotten worse. While installing the coil, they set a bucket or tools on the sheetrock and the damp sheetrock collapsed, leaving a huge hole in the ceiling. The technicians did not even want to wrap it up, but the tenant coerced them to go and get supplies from Home Depot to finish it. When the ceiling fell through, this got water everywhere from the pan for the A/C unit. They refused to do anything to treat the additional mold they had caused, and simply tore out the old drywall and replaced it, finally, after again having to keep on them to make sure they even did that. No discount on the repairs, nothing. I don't know how this company got 5-star reviews. That was the original reason we chose them. Try another company. I spoke with 5 or 6 different people over the course of all of this, and one of the prior techs that had come out before later quit. It seems like they're also too big to have it together. The owner will probably try to get on here and say this or that, as I see he's done on other comments. At no point over the course of probably 15+ calls speaking with many different people was I ever put on the phone with him. Be wary. read more

We're in a new construction and was having issues with the distribution of heat between levels . Was told by a Cochran Complete technician that our damper and zoning board was the issue. They sent a quote of $976. I informed them that parts should be covered under warranty and they said they didn't think so but would get back with me. After not hearing back from them a week or so later I contacted someone else, and it was only my damper and it cost $164 out of pocket. $95 waisted on a bad diagnosis. read more

After inspection if my HVAC system for no heat technician claimed system had to be replaced due to lightning strike. Also advised not to contact my insurance company because it was an act of God. Estimated $8,000.00 To replace system. Contacted my insurance company who said I would be covered and they would send an adjuster to inspect the system and pressured me to replace the system ASAP. Meantime I decided to have another company check. Called Rain Water heating and air problem was burned out heater switch replaced for $79.00!!!! System working perfectly. Obviously Cochran didn't want be me to contact my insurance company because they knew the adjuster would uncover the true issue. Moral of the story always always ALWAYS get a second opinion. Someone is always waiting to rip you off. read more

Warning! Do not use this company. I replaced both of my hvac systems with this firm, paid them out of pocket, and although the installation comes with a one year "free maintenance follow up", they will NOT show up to the appointment even if you set one a month in advance. The owner will give you the run around and a long sob story on how he has no staff or technicians to complete the "included" yearly maintenance but as you can see from the reviews they are taking calls for installs. The manager nor the owner will call you back if you request to speak with them. After they get your money, they simply disappear. Also, be sure that they filed a permit on your install with your county...it's supposedly included but they will never tell you that....you have to literally make them file the permit so the county can come and inspect their work and whether it was done properly. Once they county came and inspected my install it was found that they did not properly hang the duct work. read more

Terrible. Absolutely awful. Install was crap. They installed the condensation line incorrectly causing water damage in the house. They have not been out to repair the damage From the water leak. They won't return calls, texts or emails. I even showed up at the office one day and they promised they'd get right on it. They lie, they're cowards, and they run from any customer complaining about their services. I am also Submitting a review to the BBB (better business bureau) for the terrible service that this company provides. They're all about getting that quick dollar and then forgetting about the customer. What goes around comes around is all I've got to say. Companies like that don't last too terribly long so I'm not worried about it. Just hope they don't screw anyone else over. Stay away from this company. Trust me. Complete trash. read more

I do not recommend Cochran Cooling & Heating. I bought a new HVAC and water heater from them. The day of installation was a nightmare. What should have taken 5-6 hours actually took 10+ hours. The issues stemmed from the salesperson who apparently did not measure my existing hvac unit. The one he recommended turned out to be larger in size and when the installers came they said the new unit was too large to fit and it would take a lot of extra parts in order to make it fit. Their first suggestion was to put in a smaller unit (at the same cost), which I refused because I wanted the unit I had agreed to in the contract. Management said they would not pay for the extra parts. It wasn't until I threatened to sue for breach of contract that they told the installers to install the units and that they would "eat" the extra costs. Ten hours later the hvac and water heater were installed. However, they installed the wrong thermostat. I had requested a specific thermostat which the salesman agreed to and promised. So now, after paying them $5200, I have to buy another thermostat out of pocket and pay someone to install it. The installers were good, but sales and management were not. I had gotten 3 other estimates, all about the same cost, and I regret choosing Cochran Cooling & Heating. I will not use them again, nor do I recommend them. read more

I've been dissatisfied with this company from day one. I must say, the technicians are very nice and they come to work but the communication is the absolute WORST! Day one of getting a walkthrough for a quote I was told that I would be emailed a quote within 45 minutes. That did not happen, I actually had to keep calling and harassing them to get it and received it the next evening. I was then told that I would be scheduled for an appt on 10/4 but it never was confirmed. I called to confirm and was told my appt was in fact 10/5 because they needed to order a part. No one felt the need to contact me and let me know..10/5 comes and guess what? I didn't receive a call or anything so when I called they told me the part wasn't coming in until the next day and they will come 10/7....Once again I had to call them to find that out. 10/7 comes around, they show up at my house and guess what? The salesman quoted me wrong, measured everything wrong and the technicians had to reschedule so they can get the right size water heater etc. They prided themselves with their 5 star reviews and said they will honor the price, so at that point I felt good about them again. They came the following day 10/8 and did their job, the guys were very respectful and professional then left. Then....wait for it....The weekend passes and my system isn't working!!! It went from partially working to them fixing it to not working AT ALL!! I give them a call and was specifically told that the tech will be there between 8 & 10am (but the text confirmation says bt 7am &12) 12:30 comes AND NO TECH OR PHONE CALL! I call listen to their BS and was told he's on a big job and will be for a few hours. The tech ends up at my house after 8pm (he called me after 4pm to let me know this)... does some patch work because a part needs to be ordered (he was very nice and apologetic but no communication). Ok fine! It barely worked but I can't do anything until the part comes in...I get the call 10/15 the part is in and the appt is for 10/20.... Then.....my "patchwork" fails completely and now my house is at 45o, heat doesn't work. We called this morning and an appt that was scheduled bt 9&12 for today turned to bt 10 &2 to now 5pm!! (Oh we still had to make the call). Stayed tuned for part 2 because it is now 4:58 and no tech is here yet. read more

Unfortunately right before Christmas the one HVAC system stopped working. I had several companies come out, and while they were not the absolute lowest on price, they were lower than most but more importantly the service and attitude of the those I talked to on the phone to schedule the appointment and Bill who came to do the estimate made me feel best about going with them hands down. Knowing the other system was needing to be replaced as well I decided to do both at once since they offered better pricing by agreeing to do that. Best of all they were able to get two crews out on a Saturday to get it done ASAP. Install day went better than expected, the technicians were incredibly professional, knowledgeable and friendly. Outside didn't go as great as I had hoped, but Ramsey came out to assess and made things right. Overall I was very pleased and definitely recommend them. They offer a great system, at a great price with great service. This was incredibly important to me given the incredibly stressful time when their help was needed. THANK YOU!! read more
