    * Spacious parking * Great food * [[HIGHLIGHT]]Casual ambiance[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Such a great chilaquiles spot! Depending on the time you go, there may be a wait. Note: your entire party must be present before being seated. Portions are huge and definitely shareable. The food is flavorful and satisfying. One thing I loved if you're celebrating a birthday, the staff comes out to sing and celebrate with you, which is super sweet and thoughtful. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This location in particular isn't as crazy busy as some of their other spots (again, depending on the time you go), which makes it even better.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Definitely a must-try if you're in the area. I highly recommend the chilaquiles divorciados you get to choose different sauces, which is perfect if you like variety or want to try more than one flavor. The corn tamale was delicious, and of course, you have to try their house coffee. If you prefer cold coffee, the mazapán coffee was really tasty. Overall, a must-visit and one I'd happily return to again!

Always a huge pleasure to come back to cocina 35!!! The service is a 10/10, everyone is very friendly and attentive. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place is absolutely adorable![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] And the line is getting better. The food is to die for! I went for the build your own chilaquiles with the tomato sauce and the cochinita pibil, it was delicious!!!!! Can't wait to go back!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Great food, friendly service, chill vibe, and reasonable prices.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I've been here a few times and I've always had good experiences. The workers are tentative, check up on you, and friendly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There is indoor and outdoor seating available, and plenty of free parking.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I love their lattes (mazapan being my favorite), but their cajeta, and Mexican mocha are good as well. The cafe de olla is a little too sweet for me, but not bad. I have tried a few different food items, but my favorite is their chilaquiles. The bomba is delicious, it's a creamy habanero and I love the flavor. The meat/ cochinita pibil is super tender and tastes amazing. Great breakfast and worth checking out.

COCINA 35 in Coronado was highly recommended by my sister-in-law for breakfast on a Sunday. She made a reservation the night before for our party of 10! I LOVED THIS RESTAURANT!!! There are 4 other locations in San Diego, but this is the newest and it sits adjacent to the Bay. What I ordered: - Mazapan Latte - - El Patron Sampler - - Sweet Corn Tamal side - - Lychee Martini - Everything was photogenic, tasty, and downright irresistible! I'm literally dreaming about it again as I write this. Just when I thought I've tasted everything at various Mexican restaurants, COCINA 35 pleasantly surprised me and I can't wait to return and try everything else on the menu! We sat in the back patio area and it was the perfect setting for a beautiful meal under the San Diego sunny sky! Parking was free and easy breezy at 8:30am.

Beautiful decor inside. Food delicious. Definitely best chilequiles in town. Coffee drinks are delicious. My kids love the horchata. I love that you can customize your chilequiles. My favorite is the tomato and I add chicken. Mouth watering just thinking about it. Staff is friendly. This is one of their smaller locations. They also have an outdoor seating area. I would have given them 5 stars but the bathrooms were not the best. They are located inside the office/business area and not too clean

    Los Rancheros Chilaquiles
    Carli O.

These really are the best chilaquiles! The salsa verde and the carnitas in the Del Mercado was so flavorful and fresh. The Los Rancheros was completely different but equally as good with a fried egg on top. The chips were perfect with enough thickness to not get soggy. The agua frescos looked amazing and had a great variety. I had an iced Mexican Mocha which was made by their in house barista. The service was friendly and fast. The patio seating was perfect.

    De Mercado Chilaquiles

The best chilaquiles in SD, no arguments here! It's SoCals hidden gem being tucked in this area but awesome for the people who live in the neighborhood. We can all still get good food without having to go downtown! Definitely have to go multiple times to try all the items to pick your favorite. OR go with your family/friends and each order something different for everyone to try. This portions are BIG! So unless you can eat, don't be surprised if you'll need a to-go box! The place was always vibey before but with the renovations it's super cute! Before - you ordered through the line and sat down to wait for your food. Now - you sit and they can take your order. They also added more seating and booths. Service is always exceptional! They don't have "assigned" areas I don't think and everyone just assists whoever needs it!

The food was very flavorful. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant was clean[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] and the service was impeccable. This one is further out than most but there's no wait but a steady amount of customers. Highly recommend!I'm eager to try the one in Coronado too.

    EL PATRON

Yajaira great server, food 10/10 [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambiance is great and amazing staff[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Time food waiting was not bad I do recommend making a reservation!! That's really important

Excellent food and customer service! The place is beautiful and very clean! The menu is superb! We had the Patron and de mercado plates!

The location is a little sketchy but once you find it, you will not be disappointed! The severs are all nice & helpful and the food is fresh and beautifully presented! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is nicely decorated and very clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

    Front of restaurant

Amazing food! Build your own omelette with carnitas was delicious. Beef chorizo chilaquiles were amazing. Coffee on point! Our waitress, Yajaira was so nice and accommodating. She went above and beyond. Would definitely be back when coming home from MX.

    Cafe de la Olla

I had an amazing experience with the staff accommodations for my service Animal. Yahaira the server made my experience very welcoming. I enjoyed the Cafe de la Olla with piloncio highly recommend. We ordered Chilaquiles Cremosos and El Patron. The quality of the food is very creamy, fresh, and well cooked. They are known for being the best Chilaquiles in the city and I agree. Overall my experience was by far exceptional especially with the accommodations for my service dog.

Tamal Gratinado at Cocina 35 Airway Rd location.
    Olga M.

This was my second time trying Cocina 35 on Airway Rd. Restaurant did not disappoint. I took friends visiting from New Mexico and they all enjoyed their authentic Mexican breakfast. We tried the following: -Chicken flautas with avocado and beans. So delicious and crispy. -Tamale with cheese -Chorizo with eggs and beans -Potato flautas -Café de la olla -Cucumber agua fresca Everyone rated their plates 5/5 stars. The service was great and the restaurant was clean. If you're a fan of chilaquiles, this is the place to try they have so many good options on their menu. This location is small near the border. I recommend going before 12noon because it gets very busy and they close at 2pm. There's only indoor seating with plenty of parking space. Give this place a try when in the area or try the Cocina 35 location at Liberty Station. Happy Yelping :)

Super dark and I mean dark, it'll take a minute for your eyes to adjust. Tapas style menu, we were a party of 4 and ordered: Squash blossom Relleno - it's the flower part of a squash plant and stuffed with mushroom duxelles which resembles a meat mixture with squash succotash. Outside is a corn tempura with a tomato base sauce. Pulpo-grilled octopus, one of the best texture and perfectly grilled skin with a chewy yet soft interior. The sauce has a slight kick and crunch from the corn nuts. Crab corn doughnut- this is their specialty and we were about to skip out but glad we didn't. The brioche bun had a donut batter with lumps of crab salad and corn mixture on top. El Festin- perfect for our party of 4 because it was a platter full of 4 Cheese quesadilla, 4 shrimp, 4 chicken slices, 1 jalapeño bacon wrap, ribeye. Flan-we should have each ordered one ourselves! Great flavors and texture, the top had ancient chocolate soil and had crispy corn nuts. Different but yummy. Overall, delicious food that came out so quick, great ambiance, we celebrated our birthdays and were each gifted candles with our names on the label. Truly amazing from beginning to end. Street parking only. The spots on the same block are metered but if you drive down to the second street towards residential, it's free.

Heaven and Hell theme that would make Miguel de Cervantes proud. Goths love and would love this place. The service was great as was the food. A small rotating menu with many treasures to choose from and many items to share. The plating is very unique. A bit on the pricy side but it is worth it for the experience. You need to go at least once. A good place to bring peeps from out of town as well if the budget provides. Reservations are recommended. My only real gripes are the parking (not really their fault), the prices being a bit high and the noisy and dim atmosphere, but the other perks make up for a lot of this. Also, be careful of the candles, one dripped on my date and messed up her dress.

We grabbed a table for our whole crew, kids included, and settled in for what turned out to be a really memorable evening. Now, no meal is perfect, and ours had a funny little hiccup. We ordered the shrimp salad, and it showed up... shrimp-less. Just a salad. We laughed about it because hey, things happen, but what really made the night was how it got handled. Our server Erika noticed something was off before we even said much, and she jumped right on it. Not only did she get the dish fixed and out to us fast, she also surprised the kids with free dessert, no fuss, no attitude, just genuine hospitality. That's the kind of service that turns a small mistake into a story you actually want to tell. The rest of the meal was great too. Fresh flavors, a menu that leans into that coastal Mexican-meets-California vibe, and a setting that makes everything taste a little better. Sunset hit while we were there and the whole patio just glowed. It's one of those spots where you're paying for the experience as much as the food, and honestly, both delivered.

Decided to finally mix things up this time, and it did not disappoint! It's definitely an upscale Mexican spot, but the main draw right off the bat is the location. We got hooked up with a waterfront table, and the views of downtown SD and the Coronado Bridge are unreal. Here's what we ordered: Queso Fundido: Started with this and it was delicious. Famous Fajitas (Shrimp & Steak): Hands down the highlight. The meat was super well-seasoned and the charred veggies added so much flavor. Tampiqueña: Really solid and flavorful. Note on the chips: The chips here are a little different than what you usually get at a typical neighborhood Mexican joint--a bit thicker/different texture--but still tasty! All in all, everything was fabulous. If you're stuck in a routine of only going to C Level, definitely give Coasterra a try! We're super glad we finally did.
