As far as the food and service go, this restaurant earned a 5-star review! However, the fact that we had to eat our meal with our jackets on was pathetic. I had my hopes up so high after viewing the pictures. It really does look like authentic Tex-Mex. It even looks like Tex-Mex when it arrives at the table in person. Just doesn't taste anything like it. Let's start from the beginning with the chips and salsa. At least half of the basket of chips was burnt. I was OK with it because they weren't all that great so it kept me from overeating them. They do have chips and salsa on the menu so I'm guessing a second basket was not forthcoming anyway. The only thing in the entire meal that was remotely spicy was the salsa, which was actually pretty good. You could tell it was fresh. So, for the meal. We got the #1 Traditional Combo which consisted (supposedly) of a beef quesadilla, cheese enchilada and a chicken chimichanga. The quesadilla was two quarter pieces. I wonder where the other half of those tortillas ended up. The sauce and the meat were a bit odd and maybe a touch greasy but not horrible. The cheese enchilada was easily the best thing on the plate. Good cheese and well executed. The chimichanga was stuffed with very bland chicken; think California-Mex (and I hate thinking about that). Just tastes like wet string. Blah. This was not to be outdone by the blandness of the refried beans. I mean nothing. Might as well have been Elmer's Kindergarten Paste with some brown food coloring in it. Just no taste and pretty watery, to boot. The rice was OK but I'm probably being kind there because that is just in comparison to the rest of the meal. So, they were able to preserve the third star based strictly on the strength of the salsa and the cheese enchilada. If you can keep your order to those two items you'll do OK. read more

Weekend getaway and sister found this spot, so we decided to stop and try it. Great chips and salsa. Guacamole starter was definitely not fresh. Lacked flavor for sure. Food was not authentic. Went in after work one night. The server recommended a dish and a soda to match it, so that took some pressure off. She recommended the pineapple marinated carnitas tacos (f$&king delicious) and a pineapple soda to go with it. Before I could yawn she came back with a basket of chips and some really good salsa. The place is cozy and the tables are colorful. There were hella kids running around at the time, but I had a seat by the window and it was all in all a great experience. Happy Monday Adventurers! I got the pleasure of stopping by Juanitos while visiting Von Thun Farms for the sunflower fields. I love food, but Mexican food holds a special place in my heart. This place did not disappoint. We dined and I'm so happy we did, the decor was cheery, bright, and festive AF! Loved the tables, mosaic style tiles, we sat in the front window, def good for when a snowfall happens in the winter. The food portions were really good, not sure what someone saying they were small. We ordered the chicken burrito which came with refried beans and rice. Most places won't cut it in half, but honestly my friend took half home for dinner since there was a really good amount of food on the plate. We also got a guacamole side (really creamy and tasty) but that we could have had a little more it was so good to smear on our food! The salsa isn't hot with the chips they let you munch on before ordering. Still really good with taste though. I ordered the carnitas street style tacos. So to me street tacos are laid out flat not folded, however they were so filled with meat that I can see why folding them was much better. The meat was on the sweater side? not sure if i describe that right, but i found it tastier than if it had been salty. The carnitas was so juicy, the tacos fell apart! You did not need anything else added to those tacos because of how much food there was. This was also my first time trying refried beans (I had no idea what they were, usually I order black beans and rice LOL). I am a convert, it takes me a good while to want to try anything bean related but I would order these in a heartbeat! I took half my dish home because of how much there was. This is by far the best homemade Mexican food in Warren county, and the Pricers are far below those others. Have eaten quite a bit of Mexican fare in Warren county and found this place by accident and it is a hidden jewel. You have to byob but at todays bar prices who cares. Not noisy or expensive as that place on 46 in Hackettstown. The burritos and the fajitas are the best, no shortage of helpings here. Ok I loved the chimichanga I got the beef one and it tasted so good spooning all the beans and rice and stuff together with the chips I loved so much I forgot to take a picture of it all pretty before but I got an ass pic one after I demolished it. Chorizo queso was Lowkey disgusting ngl I picked out the sausages and ate but the cheese was so greasy and just not super appetizing tbh. We got take out from here and it was pretty good! The recipes are good with flavorful components. We Got nachos, a chicken chimichanga, and a beef burrito. The cons were that the burrito textures were odd/thin. Also the beef burrito was mostly rice and hardly any meat and the chicken chimichanga was all chicken and lacked any other components or ingredients. Their retried beans were amazing and the rice was flavorful and well cooked. Their chips are excellent, but nachos were pretty basic. I was hoping for some olives and jalapeños. I'm glad we tried them, but will look around for a few other Mexican cuisine options as our official go to for cravings. read more

We also didn't know how big the churros would be, they were small but still tasty and enough for two of us. A bag of chips and salsa was also included in our meal which was nice! The disappointing enchiladas and burritos tasted the same and both were fairly soggy. The jalapeño poppers tasted like something one could buy in the frozen food section of a grocery store and reheat. The refried beans had a soupy texture like something I'd never been served before in a Mexican restaurant -- and they were greasy (and I'm a fan of refried beans).
