Our 2nd time here. Food good as always. Super fresh and they dont skimp on the food. The complimentary salsa has a kick, goes well with the entrees we ordered. We ordered the mixtas fajita(steak and chicken). Both the steak and chicken were very flavorful and super tender. The onions and peppers were very well done. The order came with super tasty corn tortillas. We also got the chicken flautas, the only thing is that my son thought that it was a bit over fried. But again that might be a personal preference. Service was attentive without being overly bearing. The restaurant was spacious but was a bit dim the night we went. Bathrooms were clean which is always a plus. Came here for a date night and it was phenomenal!! Happen to find this place on Yelp when looking for local places. I couldn't believe this place had a 4.8 rating and knew we had to check it out. You will not be disappointed! Homemade chips and salsa, fresh tortillas, and wonderful service. The people who work there are very friendly and genuinely seem happy. We will be back again soon. Saw this cute place while driving through Clinton. They're on the corner and it was easy to find a parking spot on the street. Inside feels like I'm in the Mexico pavilion of Epcot. The music and decor are great. After seating us with menus they gave us chips with pico de gallo or salsa and two different sauces. We ordered their buffalo wing special while looking over our choices. We ordered chicken flats and birria tacos. Food came out quickly and was nice and hot. Overall, I like the restaurant. It's got a nice flair to it and serves probably some of the best Mexican food in the immediate area. However, despite this, while the food is good, the menu plays it safe and the flavors fall just a bit flat. The proteins could definitely use a bit more spice and flavorings. The burrito is a great size with a good flavors, though I found the empanadas were quite lacking. I also had the Mexican hot chocolate, which was nice, but the flavor felt subtle. Overall, I enjoyed the restaurant, and if you've got a hankering for Mexican cuisine this will fit the bill nicely. read more

Fresh and delicious! On a Friday night they are busy. The tortillas that accompany the fajitas are homemade corn tortillas which didn't surprise me because all of the food is authentic. Portions are good for the cost. Parking can be a challenge but it's worth a walk from a side street. read more

Really enjoyed lunch here. The chips and pico de gallo are so tasty and fresh! We couldn't get enough! The guacamole has a great flavor to it as well. I enjoyed my Mexican hot cocoa on a cold, breezy day. The cheese empanadas were interesting; they were kinda flat looking but still yummy. The flautas were crispy. The chicken quesadilla came out perfectlyyyy. My parents enjoyed their soups too. The highlight for me though? The EGGNOG TRES LECHES!! Incredible. Best tres leches I've had in a while. This placed recently opened in the former Christie's Bakery in downtown Clinton, NJ. The interior is very vibrant and casual. There are a ton of windows that make the space feel airy and bright. This is the best place to go for authentic Mexican tacos. It's very simple fare but, what takes things over the top are the fresh, homemade corn tortillas and house made sauces/salsas. I got the "Tacos Don Jose" which combines 3 meats in one taco. They were simple and delicious. I especially loved them with the homemade avocado cilantro salsa. We also tried the homemade horchata (spiced rice milk drink). Very tasty. Their menu has other offerings that you won't find at many other local Mexican restaurants. I'm particularly interested in trying their Chilaquiles! We got there right at 5pm, just before the dinner rush. The service was very friendly but I don't think they were totally ready for us. It took a while for us to get our paper menus and we never got our complimentary chips and salsa like we saw the other tables get. We also never got the fresh guacamole we ordered but they took it off the bill. They are still new and working out the kinks. I'm hoping after a few more weeks, they'll find their rhythm. The good news is they were packed shortly after 5pm so the word is out and they'll have plenty of opportunity to practice. read more

I've been here twice in the last month. Once with my wife, once with both my wife and daughter. This is a BYOB place, so prepare accordingly. The space has had a few different occupants over the recent years, but hopefully this one is able to stay. In neither instance was the place either crowded or empty , so we were able to be seated right away. The server greeted us promptly with menus, multi-colored tortilla chips and salsa. We have been strongly urged by the white coats to make some dietary changes recently, so we are very cognizant of what offerings are on the menu. I've had two different burritos, both have been very good and contain freshly prepared ingredients. The bottled sauces that come alongside in both a green and a red variety, are flavorful with a good spicy kick. This place is a nice gem in downtown Clinton. Parking is easily accessible in the evening hours. read more
