You can order them on ice or frozen, with a plethora of different tequilas, and even some other flavors such as watermelon or strawberry. Once placed on your table, the drinks do look intimidating. It sits on Wrightwood so you avoid the busy traffic of Clark St and have good shade on hot days. The food here is good too. Enjoyed some outstanding Mexican food here. I had the Tarascas burrito topped with Suizo. It was very flavorful and a generous sized portion. Wow is this a first class place! Great food; a little bit of a noisy atmosphere but very fun. I've been here a number of times. Very generous portions. We ordered a take out recently and got a major order of tasty guacamole. My best friend and I pass Tarascas all the time, were craving a margarita and walked in randomly one day. Where we've seen this place packed, it was empty-ish when we arrived. Our server was kind and patient with us cause we had no idea what were were getting. Their jumbo margaritas were good, but if you like tasting different flavors I'd recommend a regular sized one. The jumbos are basically 3 margaritas in one big glass. You'll enjoy them if you like sweeter drinks. Ours were luckily 10 dollars off (normally $48). I got the carne asada plate and were the meat was tender and tasty. I didnt think it was worth the price. Overall I'd come back for the margaritas but probably skip the food. I knew the owners several years ago when they had a place in Lakeview. The food and service was amazing then. I moved away and have recently moved back to Chicago and have been so waiting to visit tarascas again. I went tonight and was soooooo disappointed. The service was mediocre. The margaritas are watered down with tons of ice. I ordered a Cadillac margarita and it was awful with little gran marnier if any at all. The food continues to be amazing through delivery during the pandemic. It's probably our favorite Mexican food. I love getting the puntas al albanil to make my own little tacos of the most delicious beef and bacon combo. Get it spicy and it all just works so well. Mouthwatering. While the prices might seem a bit high, I always go home with leftovers and that really justifies the price. Also, they now sell containers of their salsa. Long overdue. The last time I came here the guacamole wasn't good at all it was a limey mess. This time it was great!! The queso with chorizo was delicious too. We both ordered Almond margaritas. They were good and strong. I then ordered a peach sangria which was delicious and strong too. We both ordered Steak Enchiladas with mole sauce. Amazing! My only small complaint was that the steak was finely diced. I personally prefer bigger chunks of steak in my enchiladas. But everything was great from the food to the service. The food was good but I almost didn't a chance to eat because the owner was denying my son & I access to the outdoor tables because of his service dog. The manager was rude, & didn't listen he tried to turn us away. My son showed him his service dog card, & the owner still wanted to deny him. My son told him it's illegal to deny him, & the Manager went so far to ask my son what's his disability! I was appalled & angry! I would've left but it was the principal. Down the street from me so it's always been my go to mexican place because they have outdoor seating and their portions are huge! I usually get the chicken enchiladas with the green sauce and so yummy too! But this time I just wanted tacos!
