The service was really good and quick. We had a large group and all drinks came out quickly as well as the food. The enchiladas were amazing with the sauce and the portion was very large. Definitely worth it for the price since it lasted me for another meal.

Healthy vegan options in a Mexican restaurants is always welcome. The mandarin salad for $12 hits the spot. Plus the serving is huge. It's loaded with peanuts too for texture and protein. The tarascas burrito suizo style was really meaty with lots of cheese on top. However the five stars goes to the shrimp chipotle tacos really savory shrimp with perfect mango salsa (see previous review). It's still Really loud inside with blaring music videos.

My best friend and I pass Tarascas all the time, were craving a margarita and walked in randomly one day. Where we've seen this place packed, it was empty-ish when we arrived. Our server was kind and patient with us cause we had no idea what were were getting. Their jumbo margaritas were good, but if you like tasting different flavors I'd recommend a regular sized one. The jumbos are basically 3 margaritas in one big glass. You'll enjoy them if you like sweeter drinks. Ours were luckily 10 dollars off (normally $48). I got the carne asada plate and were the meat was tender and tasty. I didnt think it was worth the price. Overall I'd come back for the margaritas but probably skip the food. TLDNR: Food good but not worth the price to me. Definitely come back for the margaritas and the chill vibes. 1 jumbo = 3 regular

well it seems pretty busy but one of the first servers did not serve me other than that this is my friend's business tenants that own the space

Came here with friends for a quick brunch with Margs. Overall what u would expect from an authentic Mexican restaurant. Good chips and spicy salsa. The meals were a little overpriced for what u get , but overall tasted good . We all enjoyed our big margs before heading out to start our Sunday at market days!!

My fellow traveling house heads trusted my foodie instincts, but there was a little skepticism until our rideshare driver gave it his enthusiastic vote of confidence! Garifuna Flava is a Black-owned restaurant celebrating the rich flavors and traditions of Belizean, Caribbean, Latin, and Indigenous Garifuna cuisine. The restaurant isn't fancy, yet it is warm, welcoming, and one of the owners even took time to share the history of the Garifuna people with one of my friends. And making the experience even more authentic was the soundtrack of Caribbean and reggae music, which had us swaying, singing along, and feeling right at home like a spot in the Caribbean or Brooklyn. As for the food, it was DELISH! I enjoyed tender oxtails with yams, fried sweet plantains, rice, and stew beans. It was comfort food that tasted like a home-cooked meal. A nice cold Ting was the perfect pairing. I couldn't resist sampling a dining partner's shrimp dish, which was also flavorful. Garifuna Flava is located in Chicago Lawn, often referred to locally as Marquette Park on Chicago's Southwest Side. The neighborhood is home to the beautiful 323-acre Marquette Park, designed by the Olmsted Brothers (sons of the designer of Central Park), and holds an important place in the city's civil rights history. Thank you, Garifuna Flava, for a delicious meal and a cultural experience I'll remember. I'll definitely be back. But don't just take my word for it, go experience the yummyliciousness for yourself! Mmmm... #BonAppetit! Cheers!

I went by, and placed an order for the lunch special (good until 4p weekdays), and not only was the cashier courteous, but the service was remarkably expeditious compared to most 'traditional' Jamaican restaurants. They have many of the sides cooked and placed under a heater lamp, while the chicken was prepared to order. $10 for the white jerk lunch special, and it was well worth the investment. Great service, food, and value. The only reason it's short of 5-stars is due to the absence of background music, which has a well-kept dining area for patrons to sit-in and eat. There is no public bathroom here, so be advised before you arrive if you plan on staying and eating. Otherwise, this is a promising jerk chicken option, and could very well be my go-to spot for such a cuisine.
