Crawfish plate... all you can eat this was a special event not on regular menu

Blue bayou is AMAZING, great owner who stopped by to say hi, unbelievable service with Ally and the crawfish boil was a blast. Perfectly seasoned spicy salty acidic and no bad belly the next day! We drove in from the burbs for their boil and now we will be back a ton more in the future just because it was that great! THIS IS THE SPOT!

Love this place, the upstairs with the windows open was such a good vibe. The chips and good and have a bit of a kick to them but the carrot cake was so good and huge! I don't even think the picture shows how huge the slice was

I was SO excited Blue Bayou finally reopened and knew I had to check it out pretty quickly. Scoping the menu beforehand, I was a bit surprised that there were several classic NOLA dishes missing (no real jambalaya or gumbo, just something called jambalaya soup?, no beignets?!) but there are po'boys and shrimp and grits so I knew what I'd be ordering. It's seat yourself (which wasn't clear and had us hanging around the entrance for a beat until a server saw us and told us), and the decor felt a little...forced. It's barely NOLA themed--it's more general country sports bar themed with tons of TVs, license plates on the wall, and empty liquor bottles used as decor. Not even a single beaded necklace in sight! I wasn't hoping for tons of cheesy New Orleans decor, but did expect a bit more theming than there was. They have a solid beer menu, and we stuck with that instead of trying any of the cocktails. My husband ordered the gator po'boy and I got the shrimp and grits, with the cheese curds as a starter, and a bonus side of fries. The cheese curds were the same ones served down the street at Butchers Tap (from the same restaurant group) and were quite good, but less than a minute after they came out, our main dishes came out so everything felt a bit rushed. The husband said his po'boy tasted fine. The shrimp, sausage and vegetables were solid but the grits were quite bland and it almost tasted like they forgot to add cheese to them? Not sure but it was a bit disappointing for $22. The fries, though, were awesome! We'll give it another shot after they've had a chance to work out some kinks. We were served quickly, but noticed some tables waiting a long time for someone to take their orders (the server said they were unexpectedly short staffed). I'd be curious to try the brunch, but the menu is very basic brunch food so nothing special (and no mimosa or Bloody Mary deals according to the website).

Special celebration dessert! Compliments of the Blue Bayou!

Our 47th Valentine's Day celebration at the Blue Bayou! Thank you Ari for helping to make it memorable!! And recommending the "cheese curds" they were amazing!!

Spring day, cool breeze, cold beer.

The staff here is on point every visit. Food is solid too. Highly recommend the Shrimp and Grits and the Sheet Nachos, extra jalapeño. Plenty of TVs. Solid cocktails.

The big back in me didn't think it would be enough food for 2 but I was so wrong. The combo comes with shrimp, 2 snow crab, 2 corns, potatoes, and 4 pieces of their delicious cornbread! The everythang sauce was banginnnn. Warning - your mouth will taste like garlic for 2-3 days after! It was my fiance's first time having seafood boil and he loved it! My daughter asked to come here so we came downtown on a Friday around 7:30pm and it was pretty crowded, but by it only being two of us our wait time was less than 10 minutes. Once seated you scan the QR code to look over the menu and once decided you go to one counter to place your food order and the bar to place your drink order, they then bring your food to the table and our food came pretty quick after ordering. Bib on, gloves on, time to dig in... My daughter ordered the bag with shrimp, crab legs, corn and potatoes and I ordered lobster tails, corn and potatoes and two lemonades (lemonades were delicious!) We ordered our food with the everythang sauce (which is a mix of all their sauces) and it was really good and really flavorful. Messy is to be expected but surprisingly the food mess was manageable and did not take away from my dining experience. The amount of crab legs in my bag to me did not justify $32 and if it wasn't for the potatoes and two corns I'm sure I would of still been hungry. Seafood boils are not a cheap experience neither, our meals with the two lemonades and no alcohol was $110, so definitely not an every weekend dining option, but leaving I did see on their info board that their shrimp, crab bags are $28 Monday - Thursday and they look to have a pretty good happy hour so this might be a reason for a quicker return. Overall my experience was pretty good.

The beignets can get a little messy but they were good as well being that it was my first time.

provare was an interesting experience. im giving two stars because the food was great - we ordered…read morethe lemon pepper chicken alfredo, smashburger and spinach dip. everything came out fast and hot. taking off two stars mostly bc of the subpar service we received from our waiter, Darius and the odd policies/pricing at provare. darius took a minute to greet us but did bring over welcome shots which were tasty. he was very quick but somewhat friendly. he did not ask if there were any allergies in our party which i did overhear other waiters asking their tables. my mother is extremely allergic to shellfish. our food was brought over and we honestly never heard from darius again until he briefly stopped by and checked on us. i also witnessed the table next to us who also had darius as a waiter receiving subpar service. they were checked on once and received their food after us even though we were sat long after they were. again, i am comparing darius to other waiters and i witnessed several others check on their tables including a party of two ladies next to us who had an EXCELLENT waitress that made me slightly jealous that we did not have her. we finished our food and was brought over our bill which included a 20% tip. which made sense considering darius' service because he knew he would collect an undeserved 20% tip without providing 20% tip service. the bill did NOT include the $5 ridiculous reservation charge taken off. on the website it states that the charge would come off the bill. i asked darius about this and he said we had to check in with the hostess to get the charge removed. huh??? so if we never asked or forgot they would've never taken off the charge and pocketed $5. seems extremely predatory. the cherry on top was when i was signing my name on the check on the payment device, darius said "have a great Sunday" and literally walked away and left his device and never came back for it LMAO. (picture included) we did check in with the hostess about the fee. she was friendly from jump, but took a minute to look up my name and tell me that the charge would come off within 2-3 business days. literally anyone who paid the fee and showed up to their reservation should AUTOMATICALLY have the charge taken off without having to inquire about it. finally, for anyone ordering the smashburger you can have the lobster removed because they are charging $8 for it, something i didn't realize you could at the time of ordering. i don't need lobster on a burger. i hope provare looks to improve it's policies and darius' service as it is a sore spot for a restaurant serving excellent food. we were visiting chicago but if we return to the city we most likely will not return to provare.
