One of my friends who was visiting from Hawaii found Amanda on social media and asked that I take her to Kuduowl to experience this unique mixology. We were greeted warmly by Amanda and she explained the concept of the bar and the drink options. All were absolutely beautifully crafted and served! Delicious! I had a drink a few years ago (Sloe Gin Ramos) and not many bartenders know how to make it, nor do they want to take the time to make it. Amanda and Chris jumped right in and made it (takes 10-15 minutes to make). It was delicious and the preparation was a show! Loved it. All bartenders, servers, and bar backs were working in unison, like an orchestra. You could tell they all enjoyed their jobs and coworkers! It made for a beautiful ambiance. The bar welcomes everyone - from old to young, from gay to straight, and a rainbow of diversity of ethnic backgrounds! This has to be my favorite bar in Southern California! Bravo Amanda & team!

I asked for spicier sauce which they do have, but was just ok flavor wise. Too many great Mexican and Mexican American restaurants with good food and better salsas to re-visit, so not sure I would be back. If in the area, it's worth a try and they do have big screens for games and the bar was pretty packed, so maybe worth the trip back for that and bring my own salsa :)

In the process of this convo they let a woman wearing flip flops in. When I pointed that out the security said "it is part of an outfit" - they should add that to their list of rules... Clearly they are able to make exceptions for people that look a certain way, and not for others. We had a party of 15 inside; they charged them 10 for water without mentioning to them that there is a cost. Overall, while I understand that rules are rules. It is clear that the security and management only make these rules for certain people.

I'm the wife of the person that was attacked this place is HORRIBLE and their MANAGER SHOULD BE FIRED!!!!( white guy with long white beard and hair) for him threatening to mace us cause he only got one side of the story is just plan ridiculous I been a manager for more than 5 years and that's no way to treat you customers when we just spent money in your business. The fact that we were actually having fun an minding our own business and have someone just come up to you and violate your space and physically put hands on you and get away with it its beyond me and would not recommend anyone to come and spend there money in a place where customers get treated like shit and get attacked. No fucking stars! I use to come here for karoeke on Sundays with my friends and it was such s good bar with $3 dollar drinks and a good vibe. I guess they changed owners or whatever but now there's a white old crack head looking bitch in the front now and she's terrible. She doesnt let you in if you wearing a shirt with pictures on it, last time a guy had a shirt with a skull on it and she's like no sorry you can't come in. My boyfriend had a sweater with Marylyn Monroe on it and she told him he couldn't go in. It was so stupid, so pretty much if you have a shirt with Mickey Mouse on it she won't let you in. It has to be a dressy shirt like wtf, it's a fuckin bar not a club. By the way The Anarchy across the street is owned by the same owner that's why they usually tell u to go across the street but anyways fuck this place. Ruby the bartender was unprofessional. She physically hit a costumer to her face , she walked inside the women's restroom invading her privacy and security staff barged inside at the same time. Ruby was yelling at the costumer screaming and snapping her hands on the costumers face. She took matters in her own hands to hit a girl to her face inside the restroom. She should be fired , ASSAULTING a costumer and being violent thats very unprofessional. The costumer told them to call the police and they didn't.!!!!!! All to cover themselves along with Ruby. Not sure what is going on here. the door lady or dyke is rude. Seems like all the female bartenders are always pregnant which is cool but I've came a few time in two years and I guess there is something in the water . The bartender that is a wannabe Betty page is clueless and rude maybe because she's like 12 and don't know how to interact with people. Newest hot spot in Downey/Bellflower. It's better than the New Wave Bar in my opinion. There is never a cover and they offer drink specials almost every night. They have good music, two rooms, a lounge area, wide bar, and two pool tables, lots of seating which is a plus compared to other places. Definitely work checking out. The vibe is good and the crowd is diverse. You can feel comfortable here no matter who you are, with friends or alone. read more
