I really like Coco! I came here on a whim (called ahead, then walked in half an hour later) looking for an affordable haircut, and Coco was exactly what I was looking for. There was a little bit of a delay--a client came back asking for an adjustment to the haircut they'd gotten earlier that day, but Coco was communicative about it and made sure I was okay waiting. I checked out yelp and decided to try CoCo Beauty Cut on a Sunday afternoon. Not only was CoCo open, I happened to get there during a slow time and was seated right away. CoCo is very friendly and concerned about doing a good job. She listened to what I needed and delivered a great haircut. The salon is very clean and I felt safe with both of us wearing face masks. We could still communicate and get to know each other. CoCo had to shut down for 5 months and has two young kids trying to be in school online. If you need a great haircut for an extremely reasonable price, ($18 for a woman's haircut), give CoCo a try and you won't be sorry. I love my new haircut from Coco. When my old stylist sold her business due to the pandemic, I had to find another place to get my haircut. Since I have a pre-existing condition, I wanted to find a place where I felt I would be safe but also get a great haircut. I hit the jackpot on both counts with Coco. We were both wearing masks, I was the only customer in the shop, and she had both the front and back doors open for circulation. I hadn't had my haircut in 7 months so it was crazy long. I came to CoCo becuase my hair color had faded after a couple months. I went to a different salon a couple months back and I paid a lot of money to have my hair dyed. I went to CoCo and got my hair colored basically the same and on the spot for 1/4 of the price I had paid before! She is such a sweet lady and we had great conversation. My mom and I both needed haircuts and I had walked past this cute salon on my way to Wescafe. Given the positive reviews, I suggested we come to this salon to get our hair cut. Coco is very careful, always asking if something is okay while providing helpful suggestions. Plus, she's trilingual!! She speaks English, mandarin, and Cantonese. She cut my hair dry, occasionally spritzing with water, which I loved because she worked with my natural hair shape. You literally cannot beat the price for the amount of care and effort she puts into her work. I had super damaged hair from box dye and balayage and I got a cute layered lob that feels light and super healthy. My mom also got a trim and appreciated how easy it was to work with Coco. We really really enjoyed my experience and tipped big since her pricing is so reasonable. Will be coming to Coco for cuts and maybe more hair coloring if I'm up for it in the future. Best price in Alameda for a simple men's haircut!! Coco is very nice and does a great job for my haircut. She's also a local to the area and so makes it super easy to have something to talk about (usually in Chinese is easier but English works too) which makes the time go by really quick since my haircut isn't usually more than 30 mins anyways. The fact she also lets her customers park for free in the back is a big help since parking around Webster St in Alameda is a huge pain. Will definitely be back in the future whenever I'm in the area since I may be working in Oakland in the future.
