I have been coming here on and off for years- I sometimes bring my daughters as well. The work is always ok- not great not bad just average. Yesterday I made an appointment for a manicure (I have acrylic on my hands) and a regular pedicure. On the phone the gentleman who answers doesn't speak English very well and apparently did not hear me request services of a manicure although I have been there multiple times and always book a manicure and a pedicure. I sit down and a woman begins working on my nails which I found strange because they always start with my feet- when inquired about it. The gentleman that answers the phone said I never requested a pedicure just a manicure- I told him he must not have heard me because if he checks my file I always get a manicure and a pedicure- he insisted I never requested it- after I ran through the whole conversation. I asked could I be accommodated for a pedicure as I did originally request that and it's my birthday- he said no- and told me I can leave and didn't have to pay- but I showed him my nails weren't done and no one would go out with there nails like this- I reiterated that I didn't mind waiting for a pedicure and he said no again. I want to reiterate that I have been coming to this establishment for years... and I have seen them make accommodations for others- however those others seemed to be well off and white. I am a black woman who lives in the area- I walk there. I know I don't always look like a woman with means- but I have done ok for myself- and didn't deserve this treatment. I am sure if I had a different skin color I would have received a different level of customer service or even an apology. Even after I acknowledged this misunderstanding there was no apology just a shoulder shrug. This was very disappointing and I will never go back there again. read more

We are staying at an air bnb across from this salon. I broke a nail and needed assistance. The young man at the front advised me that they don't fix nails done by another salon. I explained I do not live here and arrived from out of town. He then says we don't do that kind of nail. I said I don't mind if you don't have the chrome can you please just do a tip for the broken nail and French polish. Then it's we don't do dip only gel so I said I honestly don't mind I just don't want a broken nail. Excuse after excuse so I said do you just not want to help me? He replied we can't. Needed a last minute mani and pedi before I went out of tan and this was perfect. They got me in and out in a reasonable amount of time and they were even able to squeeze in an eyebrow wax last minute. Save your money and don't come here. I received the worse dip manicure here, and it outrageously expensive. They shaped my nails horribly, left the dip thick and bubbly (didn't shave it down at all), and my finger tips were pink from the polish after. It came off in a week and a half. Our pedicures were fine, but they were at least $40+ each (we got the cheapest option). The workers weren't welcoming, and it was an awkward vibe. read more

The service here is the best of the salons I've been to in the area. I got a rose on Mother's Day, the owner/manger always says hello and you almost never have to wait if you made an appointment. Bonus is "cute tv"-- a station that always plays in the pedi area with cute animal videos. I'm torn as to 3 or 4 stars because the newer staff isn't doing as good a job and my toenail polish isn't lasting as long, and my nails haven't been filed properly and they snag on things. It's also a little pricey. Other 'pros' are fee parking and high level of cleanliness, so I'll give it a 4 tor now. read more

This was by far the worst manicure I've ever received, I really could have done my own nails better myself. First, I waited 20 minutes after my appointment time; I get it was a weekend and they're busy but that's egregious considering I had an appointment. When a manicurist finally did open up, she was super rushed and clearly not paying any attention, continuously looking around the salon at everyone else while she absentmindedly did my nails. She did not use any base coat at all, and she just used the water my fingers had been soaking in to push back my cuticles (which also seems pretty unsanitary??). I had upgraded to the so-called "long lasting" polish and she would have forgotten to use the correct long lasting top coat if I hadn't stopped her and called her out on it. My nails are uneven, every finger is a different shape. There are bubbles on half my nails and within 3 hours several nails had already started chipping. Frankly appalled by this service and would like a refund. Save your money, you might as well do your own nails at home. read more

Coco Blue is hands down the worst nail salon i have ever been to. Me and my sister were getting our nails done for her wedding and my sister asked for white nails with a design on her ring finger. The lady told my sister they don't do designs, so my sister asked if they could just do sparkles (mind you they charged her for a design). The sparkles were clumped together and my sister asked if it could be fixed and the employee said no, even though she knew it was for her wedding. For my nails I asked for a pastel yellow and it looks like someone dumped a whole bottle of mustard on my fingers. The polish was on my finger tips and cuticles and she pushed my cuticles so hard i started to bleed. Moral of the story don't come here it's so expensive a mani/pedi costed me $60 so save your money please. Update: I got them done 3 days ago and the gel is already chipping. read more

They had the audacity to turn me away again, today, the same woman, too. I approached the desk. While texting she asks what I want. I remained silent. Still not looking up she asks, "Mani/pedi?" "Yes", I say. She finishes her text, grabs appointment book and combs the page. Finally she looks up saying they have a bridal party of seven at 11am, approximately 10 minutes away, and asks if I can come back. I tell her this is the second time she's turned me away. After I ask for parking reimbursement no one speaks English anymore. I just walked out. I'm LIVID!! The former shop managers gave SUPERIOR customer service. They would NEVER have turned a long standing customer away. Now I'm gone for good!!! read more

My husband and I have been coming here for almost 2 years. Helen is my goto girl, but overall , everyone does a great job. Now under new (sole) ownership, the vibe is a lot better and the staff seem happier. So visit, sit back and enjoy a few hours of peace and serenity. My goto girl Helen no longer works there. Wish I would have found this place sooner! I was early for my appointment and was immediately offered to be seated. Offered a beverage choice of water, hot tea, or mimosa. Wide selection of both regular and gel polishes. A lot of reds to choose from! The basic pedi is wonderful and relaxing. Nice massage, gentle foot scrubbing. I also got a gel manicure and am very pleased with how my nails look and feel. The shoulder massage while waiting for nails to dry was a nice added touch. Mimi and Segundo were excellent. They accept credit cards though ask folks not to tip on the card, so there is an ATM in the shop ($1.75 service fee). Clean and professional atmosphere. Will be returning again. read more

I went to coco blue for the first time today. The salon is nicely decorated and very clean. I made an appointment and was taken rather quickly. The staff was polite and friendly. I got a pedicure which was done very nicely and was very relaxing. The massage chairs and stone foot massage was great. 5 stars for the pedicure! However, I did not have the same experience when it came to my full set. It seems as though this salon does not to acrylic full sets often, as the manicurist did not have all the tools she needed. The powder was stale, and she kept apologizing. I was trying to give her the benefit of the doubt, but my nails came out very sloppy and thick- and for a high price. If you get full sets, I do not recommend coco blue. However, for a pedicure and simple manicure then you should be okay. read more

New to the neighborhood & needed a quick mani / pedi before heading out of town last Friday. I could not rationalize driving into the city to my normal nail salon - so after some research (yelping) I came across Coco Blue! Very nice and clean interior w/ a decent selection of Essie & OPI. Upon first arriving we (mom and I) were the only patrons, which made me a tad nervous. I opted for a mani / pedi in Essie' infatuation, a color that i know very well. The pedi job was good - although I thought she cut my nails down a little too short, to the point where the filing process was a bit painful. The manicure was ok, but didn't knock my socks off - BUT, I am very particular. There was nothing wrong w/ the polish job per se, but it didn't have that super shiny finish that I covet. Even more disappointing, my polish had a few chips by the end of the night! The crazy thing is ... my nails NEVER chip ... i usually can go a week (no problem) without a single chip. I will definitely try this salon again ... and if the next polish job has a shinier finish and my polish lasts longer w/o any chips, I will be more than happy to offer additional stars!! read more

My bestie was in the area, read the great reviews & decided to get a hot stone pedicure. She called me raving about how great it was then made a gel manicure appointment for my mom. We arrived at the tail end of morning rush but Monica took great care of my mom. Great selection of colors & she really took her time. Mom got a great gel mani & bestie got a great hot stone pedi & gel mani. Both of my partners in crime left very happy. FYI a slight discount because I paid cash...love that! Although I cannot say Coco Blue provided the best mani/pedi I've received, it may have provided the most memorable one. Usually my grandmother and I go to Diamond Spa, but we decided last minute to get our nails done and couldn't get an appointment there. One of her friends had recommended this place, so we decided to try it out. They took us after a very short wait as walk - ins and were friendly. There were a lot of different options for a pedicure, each varying in price by $10, but we were not really clear on the difference between the options from the managers descriptions. After lots of questions, we finally just decided to go with the mid-priced one since it seemed the safest bet. The manager provided a warm towel for my grandmothers back, but didn't offer me one. The leg massage felt great, but the manager who was painting my grandmothers nails would stop periodically to take phone calls, making the experience a bit frenetic. The technicians used lots of different lotions/substances and plastic bags in sequence throughout the course of the pedicure. My grandmother got a short back massage, but I was never offered one. The nails looked great at the end. However, I think whatever chemicals they used or the way the technician scrubbed to remove the dead skin off my feet was overly- zealous, because I developed large blisters on the bottoms of my feet in the days after the pedicure. I've never had this happen before, but think it must have been related to the pedicure as I did not get new shoes or do anything else unusual. Long review, but in a nutshell: it was an interesting experience, but I'd stick to Diamond Spa. read more

My boyfriend lives down here and I live about an hour away. Being that I only have time to get my nails done on the weekends, and I'm down here every other week, I was in a bind to find a place to go. I tried to go to a few other places put couldn't get in or the people weren't very pleasant. But Coco Blue was great! I had May and she did such an amazing job on my nails. I will for sure be back!! The only reason I didn't give this place 5 stars is because usually I get liquid gel with the gelish polish on top. Around where I live it costs me $35. Here a fill costs $40 and if I wanted to get the gelish polish it would be another $25/$35 on too of that. So I settled for the $5 gel top coat. However, I would still recommend this place to anyone! My pedicure was awesome but my last two manicures have felt rushed and have not lasted. I just got them done on Saturday and they are already chipping as shown in the picture below. I had the same girl each time I went for my manicure and have been upset with the product each and every time. My thumb nail chipped on Saturday night not even 10 hours after getting it done. I think this may actually be my first review! Went there with my sister last week for a mani/pedi (she works down the street, but was the first time there for both of us) The women in here were so sweet and my experience was so pleasant and relaxing I said I was going to write them a nice review... so here I am! I am a HUGE salon/nail/spa/beauty kinda girl, so I really do appreciate it when a place has it together and this spot is pretty legit. Clean, calm, efficient. Waaay nicer than most in-and-out nail shops all over the city. They actually give you a real foot massage (or hand massage) during your service, instead of phoning it in for one minute. They put a paraffin wax on my feet while the painted my toes and gave me warm towels to lay on my lower back while I was in the massage chair.They offered us champagne and other beverages, hung our coats, and even gave us neck massages as our nails dried. Just really nice service all around and the premium is small. It's not the cheapest, but it's the best, and it's not all that more expensive than any other nail salon, really a nominal difference... so it's definitely worth the extra few bucks! read more

Today was my first visit here. I went on the recommendation of a coworker and based on the other reviews I figured it was worth a try. I did not go in with an appointment and it was a Friday around 2ish so I expected a bit of a wait. They were accommodating but asked if I minded having my manicure done while I had my pedicure since they had a wedding party coming in. I could have said no but I felt bad since I was a walk-in. I generally do not like this practice because I don't feel like I enjoy the process as much with my arms bent over one side of the chair; however May did my feet and she made it all worth while. The manicure was done well too, but I will go back for May. The price was a bit more as most reviews stated a regular mani/pedi was $45. However, they do offer you tons of free drinks and snacks, and I will definitely be doing that next time. They did not pressure you into lots of different services and while the polishes could be updated there was a lot to choose from. You definitely get what you paid for here they do a nice job and the atmosphere is peaceful which makes a huge difference to me. Very quiet and relaxing spot. I am giving this place 2 stars simply because nail technician was very pleasant and the atmosphere was pleasant. Now I believe that maybe this place doesn't really do well with acrylic but I asked for an overlay and gel polish which was completely overly priced. $45 for the overlay and $30 for gel polish! That is completely ridiculous. In addition to that my nails weren't shaped properly and I had acrylic all over my cuticle and hands. Now I don't have a problem spending money on quality work but in no shape was this quality work. And to top it off they wanted to force me to pay 15% tip. So $90 in total for an overlay and gel polish? I expect better work for those type of prices. read more

Love my gel manicure by Maria! She was very detailed and gentle with cuticles removal and shaping, and she was even more careful with gel application, turned out super nice.
