FANTASTIC! In a sea of Roxborough nail salons, H20 stands out big time. The salon is very nice looking, extremely clean, and LOTS of amenities. To start, there are free snacks, soft drinks, and champagne/mimosas available. The staff is SO nice! I've now been 3 times for a regular mani/pedi and each time has been excellent. The pedicure chairs seem to be quite new, and have an excellent massage feature. The pedicure is thorough and gentle. The regular pedi includes paraffin on your heel. The manicure is also very through and includes a paraffin dip. I added a few minutes of a chair massage at $2/minutes and it was WORTH IT! I cannot recommend this place more strongly. Parking isn't great, but there is a lot on Dupont St, just a few steps away. read more

I've been here a couple times now and have had great service. Staff is nice and gentle-handed. They offer spa type services, last time I did a foot spa treatment that was good. They have coffee and champagne that says it's free, I haven't personally tried the amenity myself. The inside is cute and clean. My only complaint would be that they don't have a nail tech that does designs, but one girl did a simple design for me and it came out cute. read more

I'm very disappointed in this place. This is the second time I am experiencing this after getting gel nails done with them. Just after a 3-4 days the gel nail would start peeling off. It makes me question if they are getting some poor quality gel polish or not even servicing their clients with gel nail polish at all. I don't have time to sit in a salon every week that's why I go with that gel polish to make it to 2 weeks but it is clearly not worth it at this place. I started going to this place consistently during the pandemic. On occasion, the woman who answers the phone and makes the appointments would do my nails. When she did, it never fails, my cuticle would be cut to the point of bleeding, she would over drill while taking off my dip powder nails causing a painful burn, and the finish to the dip powder was so poor it needed to be redone within a week. Save yourself the hassle...and go somewhere else in the neighborhood. I have come here for up to 6 years. The quality just isn't the same. I walked in with long beautiful, strong, natural nails and left with shorter nails due to over filing and rushing. I'm also a cosmetologist so I have a bit more insight on what's going on. Aside from the over filing, my gel nails drooped to the side and formed uneven bubbles on the top of my nails. No biggy. Before I left she pointed the nails out and started laughing. I explained to her I didn't like that. She laughed again and proceeded to ring me out. Of course i paid and left a generous tip. I just assumed they'd try and fix it. I called back and spoke to the manager who knows me. I'm in every two weeks. I explained I hated to be a pain but they were the worst I've ever gotten from this salon. She responded with "oh no." And that was about it. I let her know I appreciated the service I've gotten through the years, however it has really gone down hill and I wouldn't be returning. The response was again... "oh no, so sorry." Especially after the pandemic I wanted to support my small businesses. But they clearly didn't value my loyalty and support after 6 years, every two weeks. So disappointing. read more

This place always does a great job. I know what you're thinking. A guy reviewing a salon... well, I like the occasional manicure and pedicure with my wife- no polish obviously. I've been in here probably 6 times, the same ladies have treated me and still EVERY time it's the same reaction OHHHH A GUY IN THE SALON. Get over it. I always feel so uncomfortable when I'm there. I'm never offered the drinks the girls get never the same treatment. I get it's not very common and not typical but when it happens make me comfortable. We always tip well my wife supports the business REGULARLY. We love the environment and the natural products they use. It's a really great location. Very great music and it is always extremely clean. They also occasionally clean up my eyebrows and do a great job- it always looks natural and never feminine. The prices are also extremely high $25 for a LIGHT manicure and an eye brow wax. AND they REQUIRE at least a 15% tip no negotiation. They have a sign at their front desk. You're going to pay more but I feel like it's better quality. What do I know? read more

I recently visited here for a mani and pedi after they reopened from Covid. It was super nice, clean and I felt very comfortable inside. You waited outside for them to let you in. They took your temperature and then seated you in the chair. There was more then 6 feet around you and glass surrounding your chair. Everything is disposable as always which is why I came here multiple times before. The mani and pedi was great as always! It was crowded at all, we were the only people in there. Everything was wiped down after you go up. The bathroom was clean and plenty of hand sanitizer everywhere you looked. Overall I felt very clean and comfortable being in here! I would only suggest don't get regular polish. Hands down has to be the best manicure I've received in philly. Super attentive, detailed, plenty of color options and careful! 5% off of you pay in cash, but they do take card. Complimentary drinks and amazing prices! I had a hang nail the other day, that mark is not from them, but my tech saw it as soon as I put my hands on the table and asked if it hurt, and was cautious when filing around it. My boyfriend and I went, we washed our hands, they then dipped our hands in this moisturizing wax, had a brief shoulder massage, so I figured oh this is definitely their $30 spa manicure.NOPE that comes with a regular, plain mani for $15. I would give 0 stars if I could. We made an appointment for 3:30 and were finally sat down by 4:00. They proceeded to butcher our manicures and burn our fingers with the electric file!! Not to mention that my manicure turned out awful and they used glue for a dip manicure (i've never experienced that before). I have a bubble on my thumb polish and my cuticles have never looked worse. It took over 2 hours for a mani pedi which is absolutely insane and they continued to take in more customers and have them wait. Would not recommend. read more

The staff is so friendly and attentive, and sincerely are meticulous with the attention to detail. The Standards they have are so high, and nothing is meaninglessly up-charged. The regular pedicure is done in very nice, and super clean massage chairs. And the hot stone massage and paraffin wax for the heels is included in the very reasonable $30 price! These women actually know how to do hot stone massages too-unlike other places, these ladies warm their hands with the stones as they let them cool to give a genuine, thorough massage. A paraffin hand wax dip and deep shoulder rub is also included in the gel manicure as well. You really leave this place feeling pampered. Bonus: sangria or champagne is also served! Absolutely perfect for after a long day in the office, and really feeling like you treated yourself without breaking the bank. And because they are so precise- the manicures last weeks! Like some other reviews have said, the manicure/pedicure itself is simply lovely! Paraffin treatments, massages, the whole 9 yards. The problem seems to be with the polish itself, or perhaps the application. With the exception of well-trimmed cuticles, my nails generally look like I did them myself, and are the worse for wear after just a day or two. I thought perhaps it was because I was using a regular polish, but no, the gels behaved the same way (albeit with a few extra days of "this looks fine" before beginning to crack). I do keep coming back because the experience is nice and the location is convenient, but don't go here if you're trying to have your nails done a few days in advance of a big event or trip - they simply won't hold up. read more

I wanted a Gel manicure and pedicure but the last place I had been in the area was expensive and my mani peeled off in 5 days so I went to yelp to help me find the best spot. First thing i appreciated was the transparent pricing on the wall- they also give a discount for cash. I did not make an appt and arrived around noon on a Friday- they had a short wait for walk-ins but let me know the expected wait time and took my name/info. I ran out to grab a quick bite and within thirty minutes I was in the pedicure chair. The pedicure was great- she took her time and the wax treatment on the heels as well as the hot stone massage was very nice. My manicure also turned out great- she asked about the shape I like and whether I wanted my nails cut or filed. The wax treatment made my hands feel so soft. My nails are still looking pretty good about two weeks out so i'm very happy with how long they have lasted. Overall I think this is a solid nail salon. I was never offered any sort of drink etc. but figure that was an oversight on my first visit. I'll be back! read more

I would love to find a nail salon that I could give a five star rating however the nail technicians' primary language is one that I don't know. So I had a 5pm appointment and decided to come an hour early. There was only one other person in the salon. I came and asked to soak my feet for about 10 minutes, that's where the issue started. So after I soaked the guy started doing my nails and he was rushing. He was extremely rough with handling my feet and wasn't gentle at all like the last time. The lady came over and practically started to do my nails while I'm getting my pedicure. I said I would like to wait to get my nails done after my pedicure. She said that she was very busy after 4:30pm so they are in a rush. I said I don't want my appointment rushed, I can come back at my original time at 5pm so they can take their time. She tried to get me to continue the pedicure appointment. I said I will wait, she said that it will still be rushed at 5pm. I said even though I had an appointment originally scheduled for 5? She said yes. At that point I asked her to stop because I felt very unwelcomed. I refused to spend my money where people would blatantly mistreat me and rush my services. I decided I wouldn't be coming back. The treatment today was absolutely ridiculous. I come to that nail salon often and tip well. This is my last time coming here. My new local go-to! SO happy and incredibly relieved that this salon just opened! I've been traveling to the Bryn Mawr area for my manis and pedis for the last year. The 20-30 minute trip to and from has really become an obstacle when trying to balance mama life and work life. H2O is helping me get my time back whilst making my nails look pristine! The salon itself is beautiful, spacious, and SO SO SO SO VERY CLEAN. All appliances are new, and everything just looks perfect. Most places nowadays offer complimentary drinks, but H2O offers REALLY generous sized complimentary drinks (I opted for the sangria which was deliciousssss!). Went in for a gel manicure & got a nice lady who was clearly in training. Okay, everyone has to start somewhere. She didn't know what shape I was talking about when asked for "Squoval" the woman who I assume was the manager, was trying to explain it to her. It didn't help. She only fixed up my cuticles on 4 of my 10 fingers, and then tried to add 4 coats of gel to my nails. I actually had to cut her off. This is by far the worst manicure I've ever gotten, so was thinking like, okay they've got to be offering some sort of discount for this woman who is performing what has to be her first manicure ever... They proceeded to charge me full price and when I asked to speak to the owner I was told she left. I will not be returning. I sipped my complementary champagne and enjoyed the massage chair during my pedicure. I was able to bring in my Pinterest inspiration and work with them to ensure that what I wanted was possible. The pedicure was awesome, the paint was absolutely perfect, and they even were able to recreate the look I wanted with little gems. I've gone here 4-5 times since moving to the area and I love it! They do a great job with gel and you get a lot of bang for your buck with their manicures/pedicures. I think the prices are very fair, especially for the quality you get. I have had multiple people work on me every time I go in so it's never the same person but have not had any problems! Also, this salon is very clean every time I go in and don't feel like I need to worry about sanitation issues. The only reason I am giving 4/5 is because of the wait.
