Great grooming service! Been here 3 times and PJ really puts in TLC. Coco Clips is quite pricey - it's worth every penny! I was apprehensive with the vague pricing and speedy consultation at drop-off (pricing based on temperament?), but I'm so glad I took the plunge! While I haven't been inside to check out the shop due to Covid (curbside pick-up/drop-off only), I truly do believe Coco Clips is like spa day for your pet with specialty shampoo and conditioner, trimming around her private areas, nail filing, and an anal gland expression. I generally pay $125 (de-shedding is not needed). Coco Clips did a complete makeover on my double-coated Keeshond. Another local groomer (Happy Tails), de-shedded my pup and removed her plush undercoat, and she was left with wiry coarse hair. Coco Clips help to restore Shanti's fluffy thick coat within 6 months (definitely lesson learned!). PJ is wonderful and very attentive and thorough. He's so knowledgeable and compassionate, and even gave me a doggy toothbrush. So glad I started brushing my pup's teeth, his tips on poultry flavored toothpaste really came in handy! And guess what PJ and Coco (the owners) are Good with a capital G. I have Doxies and what they need at the grooming shop is a little more technical than a hair cut. Their coat needs maintenance. We've been now coming to Coco's for almost 2 years and we could not be happier with Cali's haircuts and her treatment at the salon. The owners really care about animals, Cali is happy to come and not nervous to see the staff when she arrives... today we had an appt. but Cali unexpectedly got vaccines yesterday at the vet. She was tired. Collette recommended that we not groom her today, which made me feel that they really care about her and her health. I want to thank Coco Clips for your dedication and passion for my dog. As an aside, as time has gone along, and the business has picked up, it has been more difficult to get regular appointments. Cali has gone longer stretches of time between grooms, which can be hard especially in the hot summer months. I've been getting her cut a bit shorter so she can withstand the amount of time between cuts and if you have to cancel you may have to wait an additional month to month and a half.... I was also placed on an automatic grooming appt. list though, it seemed to have stopped after the first month. I wonder if there could be a more streamline process for making appointments? What can you say when you go to a pet groomer and pay over $100+ per dog for a trim (not a breed specific cut), bath, and nail clipping? My mini-Shih Tzu had a crusty anus when he arrived and had it when he returned home. I was offered a free trim after I called in but I should have never had to have done that. I've never experienced a 'hygienic cut' being something extra. The front office staff is absolutely fantastic but I found the grooming process isn't a fit for me. My dogs received mediocre haircuts even at just a trim. Considering other ratings my experience is likely an expensive 'one off.' PJ you're wonderful. But I am rating quality, price, and staff relations. A '3' is average. I hold zero ill will. read more

**UPDATE** Two days after the incident, the co-owner Collette reached out to me on my cellphone to personally apologize on behalf of her receptionist that i had a negative encounter with. Colette wanted to hear my side of the story, and she listened, she was very apologetic and sincere. We all encounter hardships and challenges in life, especially in these times, which we both understood. Despite that, Collette explained to me the steps she took to guide her receptionist towards better customer service and communicating with clients. I think this is top NOTCH customer service, and definitely convinced to give Coco Clips another try. I've been going to Coco Clips for the past 2 years and was generally happy with their service. What I witnessed last week was inexcusably inappropriate and disrespectful. After leaving my pup with the male owner, I was instructed by him to call the office and check in. When I called, the lady at the front desk rudely said there was no need to call in. At that time, she didn't put the phone back on the receiver properly. I overheard conversations between the staff and the owner. The conversation was clearly about me spoken in a very condescending, derogatory tone, using words that were insulting and downright rude. "I don't need to deal with stupid things like this early in the morning. What a stupid lady. A stupid person doesn't know they are stupid. It's not her f*ck'in first time here. She is so f*cking stupid." They went on with insulting comments for the next few minutes until someone hung up. Honestly, I had not said anything to the groomer that would prompt this reaction. Before leaving my pup, we had a short, very friendly, polite conversation and I had let him know that I had accidentally cut my pups hair above his eyes a bit too short as the hair was getting too long. The man continued the conversation telling his staff that I had blamed him for the cut last time, and said "do you think I would f*cking cut his hair like this? She thinks I did this to her f*cking dog? What a f*cking stupid lady". I went home unsure what I should do about this conversation I overheard. I decided to address it when I returned to pick up my pup, hoping they would acknowledge it and apologize for their behavior, and all would be forgiven as I know private conversations happen and staff talk about their customers behind their back once in a while - and although it's inappropriate, they do sometimes happen. Maybe he was having a bad day. All I wanted was honesty and an apology. I got neither. I spoke to both Collette and PJ (?) - I understand they are both the owners (although Colette was not present during the overheard phone call). He denied the entire conversation. He said that he wasn't talking about me as they have 4 other dogs there at the same time. I asked him if it wasn't about me, and if it's about another customer - it is still inappropriate and disrespectful. He denied it, and then said that it wasn't about anyone. He refused to admit that the conversation even took place and insinuated that I was lying and making this all up. Collette said she would speak to her staff and have a conversation with him alone. At that point, no apology was given, nor a discount given for the services. I paid my (overpriced $144) bill in full, didn't leave a tip, and left visibly upset. Collette called me after on the phone, acknowledged and admitted that what was said was inappropriate, said the lady at the front desk was sorry and offered to give me a free grooming next time if I choose to come back. Although this was the right thing to do as a business, I told her I'd be willing to come back if PJ (who is the owner!) apologized to me and admitted what he had said was inappropriate. Afterall, I cannot work with the owner of a business who is untrustworthy, dishonest and not transparent. She completely understood and assured me that he would call or write back to apologize. I've been looking around for a groomer for my dog and I think I've found the perfect one in Coco Clips When I first entered me and my dog were warmly greeted. The place was clean and respectable and the whole staff was very nice. They made sure that Siopao was comfortable and took care of. When I returned to pick up my dog I was pleased with the haircut and how he looked. They even mentioned that if I saw something I didn't like or my family didn't like that we could take him back for a trim - which they honored. We just moved from LA and loved our groomer there so it was hard finding another place. I happened upon Coco's because another groomer we tried to book didn't have openings for weeks. I called and quickly made an appointment, and they called to confirm day before. The business is easy to find, parking lot, and the space is cute and clean. I felt comfortable dropping Mozzie off - everyone is really warm and friendly. The grooming took about 3.5 hours including the plenty of time they gave her to feel comfortable. She is a nervous nelly and historically is not great at the groomers! She's a rescue and previous horrible owner slammed her tail in a door, so she's faced quite a bit of trauma and can be untrusting of ppl. This place has experience with rescues and anxious dogs like mine! They did a great job, cut was exactly what I asked and prices reasonable. They even offered to make additional trims free of charge if I noticed anything later. They charged $80 for full grooming and $15 for nail trim and dremel. For reference my dog is about 47 lbs. Our Portuguese Water Dog suffered a botched grooming job at another groomer in Vienna - and my vet recommended Coco Clips as the place they take THEIR dogs. I called the shop and they fit us in the same day - and did a fantastic job in fixing the other groomer's mess. Our dog is not a big fan of grooming in general - but, when I walked in to pick her up, she was playing tug-of-war with other dogs in the shop. It's a great environment, easing an edgy dog's anxiety. He got the works from Coco clips and I must say, it was the best hair cut and all around grooming experience we've ever had. First off, he smelled lovely and he came out with the most adorable tie, which he ripped off about an hour later (I got some pics though so that's alright). His cut was perfect, undercoat brushed out, coat so shiny and fluffy. He felt so plush! Nails were trimmed and teeth were brushed. Serendipity! That's the best way to describe seeing the banner on the back of the truck... Coco Clips 301A Maple Ave in Vienna. We had recently acquired Brady O'Hare a 4 month old soft haired Wheaten Terrier who was in need of grooming. We walked around the corner to explore Coco Clips and meet Collette and Shannon and immediately made an appointment for our young man pictured above. We could not be happier than seeing Brady after his "puppy" cut and brand new bow tie and the price was right. We occasionally care for a two year old Wheaten who we acquired and cared for the first six months of her life. Lilly of The Valley, a cousin of Brady had been going to a leading and quite expensive groomer in the area. We made an appointment with Coco Clips and were amazed at how much better she looked following a time with Collette (and, less expensive).
