Gazing quickly at the menu, I ended up ordering a REGULAR-SIZED PEARL MILK TEA (their no. 1 drink according to their menu) with 70% sugar and light ice ($5.31 with tax included). The drink itself was still too sweet for me, so I'd probably opt for 50% sugar next time. However, I was impressed by how QQ (i.e. chewy) their tapioca was! So good. The staff were not rude, but service was definitely nothing to rave about. The thought it was my taste buds being all funny because I had something else before the drink. I had my family try it and they already said it was awful. The yogurt was all lumpy and I mixed it but nothing changed. The yogurt tasted expired/soiled. When I poured it out into the sink, it came out in solid pieces. It was gross, and it smelled bad. I had to throw out the whole drink, such a waste of money. I don't understand how they wouldn't know the yogurt has gone bad. I was very disappointed with this drink. I was not happy. This is my 'local' coco tea! It's the one I come to the most. Location: In Commerce Gate in Markham Parking: Commerce gate parking can be nuts. Some people don't realize that there is also underground parking. You can park underground and pop up Decor: It's a right in right out! There are no chairs just a counter to order. When you go, it's to grab a drink and leave. I like that. There's never a big line up, it's pretty steady. You come grab your drink and leave. The Goods: I've tried quite a few drinks. The drinks come out at a slow pace though, so prepare to stand around for a bit (although I find most CoCo locations like this). The drinks themselves are pretty consistent with other CoCo locations. We tried the new avocado pudding with milk drink and I've got to say, I was really surprised. It has the very mild avocado flavour and the smoothness, but it tastes like a dessert? The flavour is hard to describe and really unique from what I've tried before--but I quite enjoy it! It's usually very busy and I always see very long lineups out the door. I was here on a weekday evening and luckily there was a very small lineup. 2018...-12-27. So my daughter was dying of thirst right after dim sum at Golden Court Abalone Restaurant and apparently only a Bubble Tea can quench it. I told her there were no places around to purchase any, but she quickly pointed out to me that she happened to see a CoCo Bubble Tea in the plaza across the street on our way into the restaurant plaza. Busted, we went for bubble tea... CoCo is a China franchise. We seen these all over the place when we were in Souzhou (near Shanghai) last Christmas. We even got to meet the owners while there! While my family was lining up to place their orders, the owners (husband and wife) told me about how CoCo uses better ingredients (natural herbs and extracts, real sugar and not sweeteners, more natural ingredients over artificial flavouring) to creating better flavour, and more natural tastes than their competitors. Upon trying their drinks in Souzhou, I would have to agree with them. They were excellent! With the great experience from China, I was surprised to find CoCo across the pond and in Canada. My first experience with CoCo in Toronto was the Finch @ Yonge street location and it wasn't a very good experience. Hoping that this franchise will be more consistent with the quality I had in China (wait wuh? Did I just write "hoping that the Americas will have the same quality as in China"?), I pulled into the plaza only to find that there were no parking spots available, despite there being a couple of hundred of them! I dropped the wife and kids at the front door and began circling the lot like a vulture. After a couple of laps, I was lucky enough to find a spot not to far away. This CoCo location is tiny. With no tables, chairs, or even a lean-to counter, this place was strictly take out... and they were packed! A good sigh mind you, but the fact that they had a special going on may have also contributed to the queue. The deal, save $1,40 (about 27% off) on their large Pearl Milk Tea, $3,80 (before taxes) instead of the regular $5,20. The large is about 20oz. The Milk Tea itself was quite good, flavours were not artificially overpowering like some other places, and spot on the with the sweetness. I'm not a fan of the "Bubbles" (aka tapioca pearls) but only because not many places use good quality pearls. The good quality stuff from Taiwan has three textures. The outer layer is soft, the core firm, and together they create a slight chewiness. The ones I had today were spot on, some of the best I've tasted in Toronto and the GTA. Overall, I was very surprised with this drink. While it's sad that the main reason why I'm not a fan of Bubble Milk Tea is because of the poor quality ingredients often used by most establishments in the Americas (perpetual disappointment has actually turned me off this otherwise delicious drink), this experience renewed my faith. This CoCo location does seem to care about the products they serve. Can it be that the owners I met in Souzhou are branching out to the Americas? I don't know, but I'm glad they are here. CoCo has some good solid drinks that I like and I found their flavour more intense and I do enjoy their more interesting combination of drinks. But this location is definitely at a disadvantage as being a takeout place only. The fact that if they going to offer promotional specials on some of the drinks might help to bring in business as Chatime hardly have any specials. I might pick up something to try at $3.50 for a large. So no Vicinity Points on promotions? I hope the head office would get it straight as it seems to have no standard on royalty program as it really depends on the locations or who is serving you? read more

Working in the area, I've tried almost all the BBT stores at Commerce but CoCo is my ultimate favourite and I will choose it over the other ones in the plaza. The average drink is about $5.00 which is standard (and cheaper than Alley in the same plaza). I think this is the smallest CoCo I've ever been to but they are fast in prepping your drinks so it works out. There is no seating at this location. Service is always great here and they don't mind having to look up my phone number if I don't have my Vicinity card on me (I've had someone tell me they can't do that before at another BBT store). My go-to drinks are either the Sago Milk Tea or the Taro Sago Milk Tea if I'm feeling for something more sweet. I dislike tapioca but I enjoy having sago in my drink. The milk tea is very smooth - just the way I like it. Note that it can be hard to find parking in this plaza, especially during lunch hour and dinner time. I prefer to walk over with my coworkers on my lunch. read more

Pros: - Wait times: Almost every time I've gone, there is usually no line or the drinks are made very quickly. - Parking: As long as you don't go during peak hours, there is usually parking at Commerce Gate. I was trying not to be a downer and tried it anyway. It tasted like 2% milk and when I had my friends tried it, they also agreed like only 2% milk. I asked the server if she could remake it because Jasmine milk tea has the taste of jasmine but she said no. This Coco really doesn't seem...that great? At least compared to the others. They don't listen to your order...at all. Then argue with you when you raise questions. I ordered a pearl milk tea with 30% sugar and no ice. They gave me one with ice and full sugar, then insisted it was 30% sugar (although I watched them pour the same jug of pre-made tea as the customer before me, who had full sugar). They also said they couldn't help that the ice was in there and basically to just deal with it. I also heard the worker complain in her own language about VIP members... very unprofessional. If it weren't for the convenience, I'd go to the Coco at Kennedy. I'm no bubble tea connoisseur, but I absolutely love CoCo and definitely think it's one of the best places to get bubble tea in the GTA. I recently tried this place for the first time when the new location at Commerce Gate opened up, and man have I been missing out. I've tried a few flavours so far, but my favourites would be the Taro Sago and the 3 Guys (Original Milk Tea with Tapioca, Grass Jelly, and Pudding). My drinks are always made fresh and the toppings consistently taste great - unlike most of the other bubble tea places I go to where the tapioca/grass jelly are sometimes a bit off. I also feel like the drinks are a bit sweeter than usual here, so I'd recommend getting less sugar. P.S. I'm an Elite Chatime member, and it has always been my personal favourite when it comes to bubble tea. But ever since I've had CoCo Fresh Tea & Juice, things have changed... CoCo is arguably Chatime's biggest competitor, as there seems to be one not too far away from where you are if you're in the GTA. While I'm a diehard Chatime fan, I decided to give CoCo a try since a friend I was with insists on CoCo over Chatime. The place is quite small and can get quite crowded, especially when I was there on a Saturday night. The employees inside are efficient, fortunately, and I got my drink in less than 20 minutes. I had the tapioca chocolate, with less ice and 50% sugar. It definitely felt like less ice and sugar, to the point where the chocolate taste was more "cocoa"-y, which I personally like better. While the prices are similar to Chatime, the sizes seem larger here, so you get more bang for your buck. My parents have the Vicinity card for CoCo and have been diehard CoCo fans as well...so it's a good chance that I'll return (although I might try another CoCo branch). read more

CoCo is now one of my favourite bbt shops in the GTA! When it comes to bbt shops, I don't have one specific favourite, as I go to different shops for different drinks depending on my mood. I love the wintermelon tea at Gong Cha, and the roasted milk tea at Chatime. What stands out to me at CoCo are their fruit drinks. I have tried the Mango Smoothie and Bubble Gaga, and absolutely loved both! So any time I'm craving a fruit tea, I will be going to CoCo. However, the one negative of this shop is that it is tiny. CoCo is located at commerce gate where all the other BBT places are and although the parking lot for the plaza is almost always full, there's always a spot available near CoCoz Recently, I felt like I lost my love for bbt but when I tried my girlfriends drink (sago milk tea), it rekindled my fire with bbt. The tea itself wasn't too sweet and was extremely flavourful but my favourite part was the sago. I don't think I'd ever go to tapioca after trying sago, but I really think it's just personal preference. Service is usually good, I'm not waiting too long for my order to be ready but the place is a little of small. I come back here often and would recommend it. Personally, I've tried 3 Guys(milk tea w/ tapioca, pudding, grass jelly), 2 Ladies (milk tea w/ pudding and tapioca), and the normal milk tea w/ tapioca. This particular location (Commerce Gate) doesn't have any seating - it functions solely as a takeout place, which puts it at a disadvantage against the Chatime right around the corner which has ample seating; however, if you're just looking to pickup a quick drink then it's perfectly fine.
