When my former intern, now colleague and friend, had finished his internship with the company, he had one semester left at York University. We stayed in touch. We talk a lot about various topics, especially food and bubble tea. We first bonded over York University. He was doing his undergraduate degree there. I did mine there and it feels like eons ago. When I first found out about this CoCo opening by the Keele campus, I let him know. "Where is it?" he asked me. "Off campus, on Keele, slightly north of The Pond Road," I said. "Got it. I'll check it out." It became his bubble tea place during his last semester and stint at York University. Last weekend, I was in the area reminiscing and realized that I had yet to visit this CoCo. I decided that it was time. I wish that this plaza full of food, beverages, and more was there when I was an undergraduate. It was nothing by a vast field then. I'm so glad that there are more options for students, besides staying on campus and heading to York Lanes. There was lots of parking in this plaza. I parked fairly close to CoCo and walked in. Two staff members greeted me. One asked if I had a takeout order. Nope. I ordered the following items: - Strawberry black tea with coconut jelly (my usual) - Pudding milk tea (August special) I got both with no sugar and less ice, which is also my usual. I paid with my debit card and tipped. Easy peasy. What I love about this store is that it caters to students who need to study while having some bubble tea. There are lots of plugs available to charge your laptop or phone. It didn't take long for my drinks to be made. The man put them in a bag and carefully handed it over with the handles up for me to grab. It was such a lovely gesture. I thanked him, we both said take care to each other, and I happily left with my goodies. Staff are super nice here. They are great. I love CoCo because the drinks are consistent in flavour no matter which one you visit. It was the case with my strawberry black tea with coconut jelly. It is my favourite drink. You get lots of real strawberries and coconut jelly. This place does not skimp on either. The black tea is strong and all flavours made my tastebuds incredibly happy. I first got into pudding at my local CoCo. I got to sample some and loved it. If you like milk tea with pudding, the pudding milk tea is excellent. It has a strong tea flavour, but balanced nicely with the creamy milk. I loved the pudding. It was slightly sweet, but highly enjoyable. I love this CoCo. I'll be back when I'm in the area. I am BBT fanatic and have it 3 times a week. I came here to order 2 drinks and was entering my phone number for the reward and the screen said that the points or reward is not valid. So I re-enter the information and she was so disgruntled and was like stop you put it in already. It would have been nice if she verbalized or confirmed. I asked her to put less sugar on one of the drinks and she was speaking Chinese to her other coworker complaining about me inputting the information twice. My drink was sickenly sweet. I didn't bother asking her to redo my drink as I know she will put the same effort as making them originally. I'm disappointed of the poor service as this is one of the worst Coco locations. *this is for an order from UberEats* I ordered taro milk tea since they were having a BOGO sale! It came out to $12 after tax and tip. I usually buy from this store as they have a lot of delivery promotions. Usually their drinks are quite good. I found that the taro milk tea I ordered this time wasn't that great, it didn't have a strong taro flavour. Their milk tea and other drinks I have had however are very good. I recommend the regular milk tea and the matcha milk tea. read more

I love coco and will continue to support this bbt chain and prob this location due to convenience.. however ive had back to back poor service and decided to share my review The timelines are unrealistic.. im actually a very patient person but during my most recent experience I went for my taro sago drink.. they ran outta sago and told me 15 minutes to which I agreed to wait. I actually had to wait 30 minutes and noone followed up with my order or gave me any updates until I approached them and asked. 2 people talked to me but I didnt receive any type of apology. The tone and approach was as if thats what I signed up for? Ive worked in fast food establishments before and I know that certain things can be out of your control for timing and estimates but to misinform clients with no sympathy is not okay. I love CoCo - great options and close to the University! I keep seeing negative comments about the wait time but have never personally experienced any issues. I would like to mention that it is expected as there is very limited options nearby. I am willing to wait because it is one of my favs! I generally get the taro slush/milk tea - dependent on my mood! I ordered one 3 Guys bubble tea. They have a promotion today. If you buy 2 large drinks on their top 10 drinks menu you will get a brown sugar pearl jasmine milk tea for $1 dollar. I love this promo. We were a group of 5 and we enjoyed our drinks. We did not wait too long for our drinks. The person who took our orders were very efficient. I usually have no problems with any Coco chains, in fact, they always have me coming back; however, the experience I had with this spot was very frustrating. This was my first time going to the Keele and Steeles spot and the costumer service was very poor. Costumers were unaware on how to order and all were waiting unsure. This spot still took orders in person and on the app, but everyone stood together confused on who ordered and what was suppose to happen. When I went in to find out how I could pickup my drinks, no one acknowledged for quite a while, until I walked up to the little opening and asked for help.The workers were not rude, but most of the costumers and myself were very frustrated with how they handled the situation.
