1st time at Coco Nails today. It could have been better. I had a man who spoke no English (and I don't speak Vietnamese)! He had to get the only bilingual employee in the salon to translate for him. I wonder how these "nail techs" even took classes, let alone got licensed to work in Michigan. My pedicure was nice, but missing something - apparently this salon doesn't offer paraffin wax peels as part of the pedicure experience. I ALWAYS had them when I went to nail salons in Florida before moving to Michigan. I was able to get green tea scented scrub and lotion at an additional cost. If I can't find another salon near me with a better experience, this will be my regular place for pedis near me. read more

I had the most unpleasant, uncomfortable and berating experience at a nail salon ever! I was surprised that such a large Salon had very few color choices. I simply wanted a soft yellow hue, like a buttercup. The only thing that was presented to me on the color wheel were neon yellow, loud yellow hues. I found a color I was told it was not available, so we tried white, the put yellow on top to soften the color, it still looked horrible and loud, did nothing for my skin. The owner was with a lady who was going through the same exact thing that I was going through she kept taking her polish off and changing it and she was fine with that. She proceeded to berate me, to a point where her client had to defend me by explaining to her, that picking the right color is important and sometimes it's hard for the technician and it's hard for the customer. The owner had no problem with that woman, me it turned into a back lashing. The owner was talking about me like, I had acted irate or acting out like her. I wasn't even there, imagine spending your money and being treated like that. The only reason I didn't leave is because I am headed on vacation and just needed my nails done. finally, after all of the back-and-forth and her talking about me like a dog to her client. Danny a male nail tech offered to paint my nails we found a color. He took his time and serviced me ( a paying customer- go figure). I never broke my glass ceiling and remained calm and elegant. The entire shop watched the owner show was an unprofessional and classless person she is. The owner yelled at me before Danny came to rescue me to hurry up and get a color, she wasn't even apologetic. She was a monster, thank God, the man serviced me. He offered me water. Everyone was quiet. They saw that the owner was being just unimaginable with me. I kept calm. I stayed elegant and refused to let the owner ruin my experience, but I promise I will never show up there again. She has nothing to worry about. I will never Patronize her establishment again. I have friends who are generational Wyandotte residents and business owners. They will most definitely not patronize her establishment and Wyandotte is not only a small and close community, but word-of-mouth is a lot more powerful than getting upset with this woman in her establishment. My suggestion, offer more colors. Nudes and soft milky hues are in fashion, you need to provide your customers with more options. Unfortunately I didn't read some of your previous reviews. The only thing that allowed me to give 2 stars is Danny nail tech, who tried his best to make it right.( I'm sorry the aggressiveness of the owner- made my experience just awful) Lastly,Things in the country are very tense at the moment, you should try to treat Everyone with respect regardless of Race, Color or Creed, as an Asian woman you shouldn't be such a Bad Actor. My daughter and I have been coming here for almost a year and she got the SAME length nails and pedicure of course long with shellac and they normally charge her $95 and today they charged her $130 and when I asked the lady why did the price go up, her response in a LOUD voice was "WE'VE NEVER CHARGED THAT PRICE EVER" and I asked her why was she yelling as if I'm trying to get over I was just asking because we come here often and have NEVER PAID THAT PRICE!!!! A full set with shellac was $45 which I consider to be a good price. Nails look nice, but shape is a little uneven. I'm very picky about my shape though. I've been here twice. The first time was amazing but this last time was terrible. I wanted a French style manicure but instead of white tips I wanted green for Christmas. I showed the tech a picture of what I wanted and got the complete opposite. The color was off (she showed me the powder color and I said it was okay, but this was before she applied it. I thought that since I just showed her the picture that it would've maybe looked different when it was applied). The tips were way too thick and uneven. At this time I can only recommend the eyebrow waxing from Christina. She did such a good job with the wax that no tweezing had to be done. I would recommend a little aloe or witch hazel, though to get all the stickiness off it still was quite sticky for a little bit after I left the salon. Salon looked really clean and wasn't that crowded so I'm looking forward to getting a pedicure in the future. I was told the basic pedicure starts at $28 and goes up from there. It is so bad I wanna give you a zero.. but that's not possible, so I give you a one!! I've been here a few times before, but my last two experiences made me never want to go back. One nail tech burned my fingers from using too much nail primer. I returned after that but went with a different nail tech, which was an even worse experience. She had a dirty cup of the purple liquid monomer for acrylic nails out and poured the dirty liquid back into the container, wiped out the dirty cup with paper towel, then put the contaminated liquid back into the cup to use on my nails. I had a reference picture up the whole time of how I wanted my nails. The shape is weird and lumpy. Some nails are crooked. She did a design on the wrong finger and didn't want to fix it until I said something. She also couldn't comprehend how many diamonds to put and how I wanted them placed. I told her I wanted them just like the picture multiple times and after a long silence and her staring at my hand confused, I started moving the diamonds around myself to how I wanted them placed. It was a simple design. She also cut my cuticles with the rotating nail file multiple times making me bleed. She scrubbed them with paper towel to get them to stop bleeding which was excruciating. Now my cuticles are infected and so sore. The customer service was also horrible. She was talking bad about me right in front of me to another worker. One woman came in and all the workers ignored her, she said hello and what she wanted done and they let her stand there feeling awkward until she walked out. Then they laughed about her to each other. Another woman came in asking if they'd seen her ID that she lost while there and they looked at her confused until she left too, then laughed about her as well. I messaged the owner of this salon on Facebook explaining my experience and she apologized and told me to come back to get them fixed, which I declined since my nails are already infected and hurt. Well today after a long day at work I wanted to get a relaxing pedicure and a gel refill. Well it didn't go so well the Vietnamese guy not the owner was doing my pedicure and from the start he didn't seem like he was interested in doing it. He told me to stop moving my feet which I was not doing. And I kept asking him what do u want me to do. He would just say stop moving and I said I am not moving. He suddenly gets up from his stool and tell me to get the f*** out and just continues screaming at me and them the owner comes over and finishes it. What kinda business does this...... they do. I've been going to Coco nails bi-weekly for over two years and recently was very disappointed with my experience. I always take my 4 year old with me so that she can get her nails painted. We treat this as a mom/daughter outing and I would never take her with me if she was unable to get her nails painted. During my recent visit, I clearly stated that I wanted a manicure and she would like her nails painted. My daughter picked out a color and we were directed to our seats. The nail tech started on my nails first and after a few minutes the salon became very busy with a lot of customers waiting. After my nails were 70% complete, the owner came to me and said that they can no longer do kids nails. My daughter was patiently waiting and if we were told this up front I would not have started my nails. Also, my daughter has been getting her nails painted here since she was two years old. I strongly feel that this was 100% due to the owner wanting to move on to a waiting customer that would generate more revenue. This was completely unprofessional and we will never return. Shame on the owner, Teri's unprofessional and rude behavior. We will gladly take out business somewhere else. read more

Welp....Do not bother wasting your time here. I would first like to say that the customer service is so trash that I never even made it into the door. I called ahead to ask if the salon offered eyelash services. The woman that answered the phone told me that she does do lashes, but I would have to stop at CVS to get hair glue for my eyelashes. She stated that the glue that she has is too toxic and harsh for eyelashes...... My question is why even have that kind of glue then??? When I told her that I was unfamiliar of the hair glue that she was referring to for me to pick up from CVS, her exact words were "you know the glue that you guys use". Umm huh?? Went today for a pedicure. When we first walked in, the place smelled so bad of weed. I was sat at a chair. The water didn't have anything in it but plain water. The pedicure was rushed. She did not put callus lotion on my feet, did not buff my nails, only cut down a couple. I asked for a more round shape and didn't get it. When trimming my cuticles, my toe was cut. I had to pull back my foot numerous times due to her hurting me. There was no exfoliating at any time. Just lotion. However, my friend next to me, her pedicure involved the woman going and getting hand soap from the sink to put on her legs. The hot towel sat on me for so long it became ice cold. When the bowls were drained, the sewer smell was overwhelming. The polish was rushed and I had to ask twice to clean it up. When I paid for the $27 pedicure I was charged $1.00 for disposable items but the only thing was used was the item to scrub my feet very quickly and a $2.00 credit card fee. I asked to leave a tip on the card and was told no, use the ATM they have. Which would have been another $3.00 fee. I sat waiting for my friend to finish and the owner came up and asked if she could help me. I said oh I am done already. She then asked why was I sitting there. I said I was waiting for my friend and she just walked away. There was no disinfecting done in between customers. Someone sat right now where I was. This place is horrible and I will never go back. The health department should look into it. I messaged the owner privately on Facebook explaining my experience. She never offered to fix or anything. Claiming they never use hand soap or get up. I told her I personally saw it. Then my friend messaged her asking for a refund. She totally went off and then posted our screen shots on the business Facebook page. So let me start by saying that I don't go to a nail salon as much as many other people, still, I have never had anything less than a pleasant experience here. With my schedule lately, it is extremely hard to get a day off work when it fits into the whole family's agenda. I had been waiting 3 months, literally, and got a chance to take my 4 and 5 year old daughters for a pedicure. This would only be their second one each (special occasions only) and they were extremely excited for their mom date. I walked in and was greeted, I asked for 3 pedicures, and it was followed with a "How old are they?". I said 4 and 5 and they preceded to yell back and forth through the salon to each other. A girl came up to me and said she can only do the 5 year old. I asked why and she said they keep getting water splashed on them. I assured her that my girls would not do that (they are very mature for their ages) yet she just said no as she was already walking away from me. I took the girls, got in my truck, and called back and asked for the young woman's name because I was upset with how she walked away from me. She told me her name, I said "Ok, thank you." and I hung up. Two minutes later my phone rang, I answered it, and it was the owner. I could go on for 10 more paragraphs of how awful this woman was, so not to make this story any longer.... I have dealt with some disrespectful managers in my life, but I have NEVER, I mean NEVER dealt with someone as nasty as this woman. She was extremely offensive, would not let me finish a sentence without yelling back at me, was accusatory, and would not tell me her name after she told me she was the owner and manager and could do whatever she wanted. She argued and yelled at me on the phone for at least 3 minutes. Dip, baby, dip! Try it- you cannot reasonably be disappointed. Rad chairs, great massages. Mani-pedi anywhere isn't fast food, so yeah, you may need to wait. Relax. The end result is definitely worth the (understandable) wait. Staff is fun and friendly and knowledgeable! Rather not engage in conversation? Not a problem. They are all kinds of receptive to your wants and needs. Treat yourself to a paraffin wax, and definitely get the nail dip. I've never been so happy with a manicure. read more

I came here on 6/5/2022 for a gel pedicure and gel removal on my nails. The place is pretty modern and it looks cute. I got the milk & honey pedicure with French. Everything with the pedicure was great, but when it came to taking the gels off my nails... I have not seen a nail tech not soak off gel polish or use an e-file to drill gel off. I had gel on my natural nails and she just took a regular nail file to buff my gels off. A few times she got too close to my skin causing me to flinch. After taking my gels off with the nail file, I was told to wash my hands. There was no shaping or buffing my nails after taking off the gels. I ended up asking her if she had a buffer. I was pretty disappointed about my nails being filed that way since it can damage your natural nails, but I expected that as a nail tech (being one myself), there would be proper care. read more

I was coming here every two weeks for 2-3 months. I've always gotten a full set of acrylics with "shellac" polish. I've asked for the same shape each time... square with oval edges. In the time that I've gone here I've seen 4 different people... why? Because the original guy I was going to "Bob" was very inconsistent with his work, didn't know how to do something I wanted done, which was a glitter powder nail color... He didn't notice the yellow in my nails which was MOLD / FUNGUS. When that happened the owner had them take my nails off and then charged me $40 for a new set! Something that is their fault, when I just had my nails done 5 days prior to that. $100 in nails out the window. I liked that this place was close to my house, relatively fast, and decently priced. The last time I came in, the owner did my nails, and it was the crappiest they've ever looked! I'd rather pay the extra $10-$20 somewhere else where they KNOW what they're doing! The atmosphere is relaxing, very clean and I never have to wait for my appointment time. Ready when we walk in! I rated this salon a 4 star the only reason I did not give a 5... They do nice nails but if you want nails with a fancy design I recommend you go somewhere else. I did fancy design nails twice and both times it was disappointing. I've been going to CoCo for about 8 months now. The place is always clean so that's good news too.
