a pizza on a checkered plate

The service was poor but expected that. People behind the counter were far more interested in talking with each other than in helping us out with our meals. That said, they also lacked knowledge of their own dishes and when finally the order was put in, I asked for the staff to read back what we ordered and there were things missing. Come on now. At least the pizza I ordered came in a short time. The pizza crust was not from fresh dough, it is like one of those that you buy at the grocery store that hangs near where they have pasta sauce. Very little cheese. It was ok, but expected better with the fancy pizza oven that they have there.

So I randomly decided today that I wanted to try a coffee shop that I haven't frequented in the past and I located this place on Yelp. It's in a quaint shopping center, Jewish part of Pikesville, & thank goodness there is a parking lot. Service is super fast. The young lady made my latte so fast, I mentally assumed it was going to be wrong... I was wrong! This latte is so freaking delicious! This place sells food, plenty of food... Food specials posted everywhere! They sell salads, breakfast food and pastries as well. Oh, they also sell ice cream... How about that, ice cream! I look forward to returning in the future to try another latte flavor because today I got the hazelnut soy and I look forward to also buying some food from there as well. I think I'm going to go back for a salad! If you're in the neighborhood stop by & visit and Yelp about it, I'd love to see what others think as well!

    Nice eatery, Great coffee!

Great food. Nice facility. Service us a little slow but that doesn't in any way lessen the quality of the food

Love their coffees, salads, and entrees. Not so food-allergy friendly, but otherwise very enjoyable with a wide selection.

Went in at its very opening of the day, the atmosphere was right, the smell of baking was so inviting. I had a cup of cappuccino and a piece of croissant. Both were properly prepared and I was very pleased. The clark and kitchen staff were very friendly. I will stop by again when I will be near by.

I'm so glad I was able to stop in for a quick visit today. I didn't take a picture of my cafe con leche, but it was so good! I'm not typically a hot coffee drinker but the barista recommended it with the white chocolate seasonal flavor and wow I was blown away. Both of the ladies working were friendly and helpful answering any questions I have and giving their recommendationsZ The croissant alone will ensure that I return to Cafe Luli. It was not overly sweet but was so delicious and soft. I wasn't the biggest fan of the cookie, but I am not typically a thin and crispy cookie girl. The Alfajores were also a sweet treat, melting in your mouth. The ambiance is very cute. It feels homey and smells so good when you walk in. The prices are comparable to other coffee shops in my opinion. There appears to be an upstairs area but I didn't not explore that area today as I was running around doing errands.

I ordered the Middle Eastern Combination Platter ($12.95) which came with 3 pieces of falafel, 2 small grape leaves, an incredibly small portion of hummus, babaganoush, foul (fava bean stew), tahini sauce, pita bread and a "Mediterranean salad". The falafel was too hard on the outside that I could not pierce my fork through it. It was almost as if they deep fried it multiple times. In addition, there was wayyyy too many cumin seeds in the falafel. The grape leaves were just ok and filled with a rice mixture. The foul was also full of cumin. The menu states that feta cheese is included, but I received none. The "Mediterranean salad" was not a Mediterranean salad at all. It was more like a cheap garden salad with cucumbers, tomato, lettuce, and carrots. I also ordered the mixed lamb & chicken kabob ($15.95) which only came with rice, onions, roasted green peppers and tomato, and a bland tahini sauce. There were no mushrooms as the menu stated there would be. Both the lamb and chicken were dry and had no flavor to them. I was pretty disappointed with this place. They lack serving components of what their menu states and the food quality is not fresh and flavorful.

So let me tell you what we DIDN'T get. I'm a huge fan of feta cheese so I was sorely put out when the feta cheese cubes were missing, and the grape leaves were about the width of your ring finger and didn't have much taste. The fool was chunky and lacking in flavor and the tahini sauce and salad dressing were watery. We also got a Four Seasons pizza but my BF said that the crust had a vague cinnamon flavor to it that he found odd. We spent $50+ and I just thought, "Meh." I would not be so harsh if I hadn't gone to Habib Meditteranean in Glen Burnie the week before and had some food that I thought was pretty darn terrific.
