While I haven't personally been to Goldberg's in years, I have had their bagels at other people's houses and was always pleasantly surprised. My bagel now was no different. Fresh, tasteful and full of flavor. It hit the spot. The latte was amazing, and I even opted for sugar free vanilla (an uncommon choice for me) and was very pleased with how much I liked it. The straws were more for a smoothie though. I've been a longtime patron of Goldberg's, but the quality of their bagels does not excuse casual racism from their staff. I (a white male) placed a mobile order for a half dozen bagels and ask my wife (and Indian female) to pick it up for us. I even forwarded my wife the confirmation email. When she went in, she told them we placed an order and showed them the email confirmation, and as they were about to hand it over, someone told the person helping her "no, don't hand it over, we need to verify" not realizing this was a personal order. When she asked why, they then said "oh well we assumed most of you guys are delivery drivers." She then replied that it's a bit too early in the morning for this causal racism, to which they shrugged it off as you'd be surprised as to how common it is. I don't care how common it is. I don't care if 99.9% of the time it follows a pattern. It is unacceptable behavior on its face. We will not be returning. read more

Simply phenomenal. Great for getting NY-style bagels by the dozen. Great schmears and sandwich options. Pricey bottled drinks, but nothing different than any other deli these days. $2.50 for a 16.9 ounce Deerpark water! I love the cream cheese, the tuna salad, and the egg salad. The only saving grace for this review was the manager today. First time ever here - tell the cashier that, my bagel was $2. I even said "wow that cheap!" she told me to select skip on the tip screen and I said no I want to tip you. Went early and the service was excellent! Ordered a large coffee with half and half and an everything bagel with creamed cheese, lox and a slice of tomato. Issa no for me dog. I wanted to like Goldberg but too many issues in my first visit. When you first walk in, no clue on what or where to order. There's a register if you just want a plain bagel. If you want a breakfast sandwich, you have to use the other two registers behind you. Theres a brief menu of non breakfast bagel sandwiches on the wall. Where's the full menu, sis?! Then there's more registers for coffee and other drinks. Very confusing and weird set up. Also weird alliance when it comes to the mask policy. Some staff had on masks, others didn't. So I ordered a bacon egg white and cheese on an everything bagel. Simple right? Few moments later someone from the back comes out and informs me there's no veggie bacon. Veggie bacon!? I didn't ask for that. Regular bacon me please. They don't have that either. Okay so egg white and cheese me. Even though I was charged for the bacon they've been out of for MONTHS and for some reason, the cashier didn't know. I eventually eat my bagel. I could have done without it. It's okay. People rave about them, but I've had better. I wouldn't say any other local chain is better, as some seem to, but there are better places. Staff can be rather annoyed at times, while other staff is totally into giving you exactly what you want. (Also, as an aside, since I see it in many reviews: THIS IS A KOSHER PLACE. They won't serve you pork, and they don't serve meat at all since they serve cheese - that is why people are offered vegetarian bacon etc.) If you want to spend a lot on an egg and cheese bagel sandwich, this is a fine place to go. The hash browns are the real winner, though. Admittedly, a meal of them and the bagel sandwich will run you about $15, but the hash browns almost make it worth it. read more

I didn't see anyone come out a grab a fresh bagel from counter so I was a lil suspicious since it was given to us from a different pick up section. There's also a coffee area but the barista was busy having a conversation with security guard about gun use and other non sense so we didn't even bother to order the coffee. Goldberg's is the standard that all Baltimore bagels are measured against. After a year of not eating here, I am happy to report that it is still the standard. That masks were in place and distance was observed (loosely, but safely) Bagels are crisp, toasted and with enough of everything on it. Lox spread was pink with bits of lox. We ordered a shiva platter on Sunday for delivery on Wednesday at 11am. We used this place before 8 months ago also with a Wednesday delivery. Around 11:30 we started getting anxious about the food arriving. Seeing as the food was coming to Harrisburg from Baltimore I waited until 11:50 to call. The person on the phone said one delivery time they had was 10:30, then another said it was a 2 pm delivery time. We finally got to speak to someone higher up. They had someone leave immediately. We were told that deliveries on Wednesday don't go out until 2pm. Nobody made us aware of this and 8 months ago we had no issues with an 11am delivery time. The order came with coffee and the time on it was 9:30, had the order come on time the coffee would have been the proper temperature. The order didn't leave Baltimore until after 12, so the coffee was lukewarm. By the time we got home from my father in law's funeral the food was here and set up thanks to a great friend helping. My advice is, if you use this establishment for catering CALL to confirm. The presentation of the food was great and the food delicious. Very frustrating not to have gotten an apology when we had written confirmation of 11am delivery time. read more

There's this trend now where newer bagelries are skipping the boiling step and instead steaming their bagels before baking. And while steamed bagels are fluffier and softer, they don't have that distinct "pull" and chewiness that bagel purists crave. In addition to bagels, Goldberg's serves up a variety of breakfast items like pancakes, waffles, French toast, and blintzes . There are also lunch combinations that come with a large drink, then your voice of either salad, soup, or an order of home fries. For breakfast, I would suggest trying their "egg classics," which can be served either as a bagel sandwich or omelet style with a bagel on the side. The portions are generous and sure to fill you up. When dining in, you first order at the counter and then find a seat. The guy at the register will give you a little ticket stand with a number on it. Place this on your table, and when your food is ready, a server will bring it out. This brings me to my only complaint. Service was sloooow. People who arrived after we did received their food well ahead of us. When our food did come out, only three of the four dishes arrived. The last person had to wait an extra 5-10 minutes. In all transparency, I may go back here for certain things but I don't think it's safe for Celiacs to order the bagels. If you are simply Gluten Free by choice, you're probably good. Atmosphere& Decor: It reminds me of NY. I loved it. The business, the friendly people, and the lack of decor. It would basically be your fave neighborhood spot to go to! I like to start with the positives, but there are none. Not a one. The ordering system 1. Pictures look nothing like what you get? The fish platter was a sad piece of fish with what looked like scraps of onion, etc. When I asked for some additional o ion, I'd easily get more at Burger King. You have to place your own order with a touch screen and then put a number on your table. If this made the diner experience better, then ok, but it doesn't 2. They add a gratuity?????? Someone drops plates at your table, and don't ask if you need anything. There is no coffee top off or extra creamers. 3 The prices were high to begin with, so you'd think maybe an extra bit of cream cheese and butter and maybe at least 2 bagels....Oh noooo. This place would never stay alive in most other areas. It is not a deli experience but a deli horror. This was a meal from hell, and way over priced. Real NY Bagels! The pumpernickel bagels are the best. I tried the on-line ordering. It worked great. I ordered everything I wanted. However, when I picked-up my order some of the items ordered were not in the bag. Unfortunately I didn't find that out until I got home and unpacked my order. When I called, and I called twice, I got no response. If I didn't live some 25 miles away, I would have gone back. So my recommendation, get your bagels at Goldberg and if you use the on-line order option, check before you leave... no matter how lone the line is. read more

I have had NY/NJ stye bagels and this aint it. From the moment i walked in, i kept on saying i should have gone to THB. Ordering was a weird set up, i repeated my order egg bagel w/sausage, egg and cheese. I got the bagel alright with the egg and sausage on the side what lol, that was a first. They also forgot my cheese. Half the staff were wearing masks, but the cooks and someone who appears to be the owner/driver were not, go figure. I know its the county, but be considerate to your co-workers. I would have given zero stars if possible, but the ladies that were serving customers were nice. Came here with friends from out of town to go to a "good" breakfast. We ordered 2 scrambled eggs, which BOTH came in an omelet, a bagel ordered with lox came without lox, 3 bagels we ordered toasted did not come toasted, there was a piece of HAIR in one of the bagels, the fridge drinks we ordered were EXPIRED, and there was a big piece of avocado skin in one of our bagels!!! There is also flies in the air, flying around the food. I used to come here often and the service has gotten increasingly worse.
